Piers Anthony's Apprentice Adept has some potential, and has apparently been optioned as a movie, but seems to be stuck in Development Hell. Same for his Xanth series. A Spell for Chameleon had been in development, but the studio let the rights expire. But it could make for an interesting movie.
However, I would most like to see his Incarnations of Immortality adapted. Again, On A Pale Horse was apparently being considered as a TV series (and did, in fact, inspire Dead Like Me), but seems to have been dropped.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Speaking of humorous fantasy, I'd really love to see one of John Moore's Fractured Fairy Tales for grownups done as a movie. The only problem is that the major studios would see "fairy tale", and think they had to bowdlerize it for a younger audience. It would pretty much need to be an indie film to have a hope of being done well, I suspect.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. The Incarnations of Immortality series takes too many (completely justified in my view) kicks at organized religion for any Hollywood production company to make it into a television series. Even H.B.O would give it a bodyswerve.
No-one wants pickets outside their buildings from Westboro B.C and their equivalents outside the sphere of Christian nuttitude.
I don't think the shots were particularly bad in the early books. On A Pale Horse wasn't bad about it, and that would be the one that would determine whether the others get made. So I think it'd probably be OK.
Stephen King and Peter Straub's The Talisman would make a pretty good movie. Only trouble might be having a child protagonist in a story that really isn't child-friendly.
"The Talisman" has been in development hell for literally decades. It's basically an updated version of Huckleberry Finn so I personally don't see any problems with making a telly show out of it. They did one for "The Stand" after all. There may be an issue around one of the villains in the show being a hypocritical child abusing person of religion but that's about it.
Was the Cirque du Freak movie one of those cases where a sequel would be impossible because of the changes?
lthough it's been made into movies I'd like to see a Conan The Barbarian movie done by people who actually read and paid attention to the source material. And by source material I mean the Robert E Howard stories exclusively.

Trump delenda estGlen Duncan's "The Last Werewolf" would make a good film. One of the few times using voice-over or Bronson-style device would be smart, as the main character's descriptions of his mental state are so deliciously creepy. Plus, it would be a good slap to the Twilight imagining of werewolves.
For vampire fiction, the Joe Pitt novels by Charlie Huston are practically noir-horror screenplays (the guy is averse to speech tags). They're full of action, humor, and just enough social commentary to be amusing without being pretentious.

i'd love to see The Silmarillion adapted. Sure, they'd have to cut so much of it out to be even vaguely watchable (the children of Hurin etc.), but the morgorth and simarilli plot would work well. I would love to see a new adaptation of Avatar The Last Airbender, taking all of the criticism from the last attempt into account (race, casting, pronounciation, humor, coherent plot, faithful to original etc.)
'All shall love me and despar!'That Hideous Strength would probably make a good film - it mostly stands on its own from the two preceding books, and basically all of the supernatural intervention takes place through human/animal/corpse intermediaries so there's much less of a problem with 'eldil preachiness'.
Plus, the Objectivity Room. In live-action. :D
ERROR: The current state of the world is unacceptable. Save anyway? YES/NO
hmmm, interesting, but usually TV series have poor budgets, and I doubt the silmarillion would work without a colossal Hollywood budget.I suppose if it got the quality that A Game Of Thrones does, it could work though.

'All shall love me and despar!'i reckon the war of the jewels part would be the most interesting, and i'd love to see a bit of the kinslaying and Feanor (I'm sick of the Sindar elves. Lets give the Noldor a chance!)
'All shall love me and despar!'
Maybe it'll make 'gnome' mean something that isn't stupid :P
yeah, lol. I always thought the Noldor were the more interesting (smarter and better at making stuff above prettiness and singing) of the elves. The Sindar, in LOTR more than any of his other works (more in the films than the books though), were a little too Mary-Sue-ish for my liking. The Noldor just had that little bit more character.
'All shall love me and despar!'I'd personally like to see the Willowmere Chronicles adapted as a miniseries, even if there are probably only 5 people in the world who've read the books XD. I really enjoyed its use of an animal-based Shamanism over the more traditional forms of magic you find in most teen fantasy novels. And the reincarnation thing is kinda cool too.
The Hidden World (by the same author and probably read by the same 5 people)would make a good movie or TV miniseries also, if we aren't sick of the Authurian stuff just yet XD

I definitely hope the Mistborn movie gets made, it would be awesome. My only worry is that they'd play up the action sequences way too much and the character development in the novels would get ignored.
Also, when The Stormlight Archive has more books released it would make an awesome series ala Game Of Thrones.

Now that it's finally done, how about Wheel Of Time? One Problem though is that it supposedly happens over a couple of years and it would take forever to complete.
Trump delenda estCodex Alera would be epic,if done right.
Actually I think it'd be easier to right than most of the ones suggested.

The Shannara series, although it would be tough because they would more or less have to skip the first book (which is a good read but would be extremely me-too as a movie, lacking anything to make it stand out). Later bits, like the Shadowen books or the Voyage ones would do better, having much more to say in terms of characterization.
Hmm. I haven't read any of the Shannara books for literally decades. Though I did plow through the first couple or so of the trilogies. I would, however, literally offer you one free murder* of your choice, subject to status and conditions, for an adaptation of Raymond E.Feist's Riftwar saga. Because those books fricking rock, y'all.
- Offer only valid on Neptune, Cruithne and Io.

The Gemma Doyle trilogy could be a movie. I read that the rights were bought, but the production company dropped the project. My fear is that they'd give it the Twilight treatment and play up the romance angle.
