By the way, how much of a track do you typically listen to before responding? With me it depends on whether it's the sort of piece I consider likely to evolve, but I typically try to listen to at least half before making any real judgement about what situation it might fit; and I preferably listen to all of it if I have the time.

I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer. The villain's plot has been foiled, and the man himself has been backed into a corner; now the hero has to fight to finish him off.
If I hear the end of a loop, that'll do; if it's a more theatrical piece that changes over time, I'll listen to the whole thing first. And really, I've enjoyed every piece so far enough to listen to the whole thing anyways, even if I do post before I get to the end.

depends on the length. if its less than two minutes, I generally try to listen to the whole thing. otherwise, i listen the beginning to get the general idea of how the music goes, and then to samples throughout the track to see if it changes from my first impression. Unless it's particularly Crowning Music Of Awesome. then I listen to the whole thing.
