"Cynicism is not realistic and tough. It's unrealistic and kind of cowardly because it means you don't have to try."A techbro gets upstaged by a hacker group that proceeds to take control of the venues systems to put on an even more bombastic (if short) performance. While loaded with Stealth Insults against the other speakers and organizers, it proves to be the highlight of the event for the attendees.

The New Recruits
As an Evil Army rains fire on an enemy village, the citizens cower and brace for certain, imminent death — but after seconds pass and death does not come, they open their eyes and see that the shells that would have turned their village to cinders are suspended in mid-air. As they stare in awe at this apparent miracle, its source appears from above — a figure floating up in the air, their hand outstretched to push back the assault. Salvation has arrived, the villagers conclude — but who and what is their savior?
The background music to a Hydro Thunder-style futuristic boat race that suddenly turns dangerous (well, more so than usual) as a spatial anomaly starts tearing the landscape apart. As the water bodies they're currently racing through are suspended in the air or between bits of landscape and twisted in impossible ways. At first, they think it's something the event organizers came up with. Soon, they realize it's real but realize there's little they can do now but stay ahead of the worst of it. The racers' taunts toward each other over the radio turn to genuine encouragement and warnings of obstacles up ahead as the going gets harder.
