The Grand Unified Appearance Trope Clean-up:

Makes sense to me.

Minor status report: Went through all the Fanfic/ wicks, most of them got transferred to Technicolor Eyes while others were best just being cut. Trying to go through the smaller sections here.

My edit removed the part about purple eyes being Chairs; I changed the wording from "Purple eyes are not a trope" to "Purple eyes are already covered by multiple tropes, negating the need for a trope specific to them" (link to page history). I hadn't made any edits to the disambiguation page before that, so how did that introduce the problem?

If I made any mistakes with the edits I did make, I'd like to know what they were in case further changes need to be made.

Edit: I changed "which are impossible in real life" to "which are impossible in real life and thus not People Sit on Chairs" to further state that this is different from why other eye pages (Green Eyes, Gray Eyes, etc.) were turned into disambiguation pages, since those were Chairs.

My argument for turning Purple Eyes into a disambiguation page was that I thought it was The Same, but More Specific, not that it was Chairs.

Edit: The wording MacronNotes originally used for the disambig is less wordy than what I used, so it might be better, but I'd like to check with the thread before reverting back to that wording.

Hey I know you guys are currently busy with Purple Eyes, but could you check Cat Smile at some point? I was trying to add examples of it to ThunderCats Roar but couldn't figure out how to describe it, and it seems like nobody writing the examples for Cat Smile knew how to either.

Well for Cat Smile, what I would do is elaborate why the character smiled that way and their personality. And you know since the Thundercats...are well cats you can mention that too.

I did whittled the character pages down to L. 694 wicks remain of Purple Eyes. Hope to get down to half that tomorrow

I tweaked Sandbox.Appearance Tropes Cleanup to account for Man In White being renamed to Villain in a White Suit.

If we are doing that, then we need a new image, because Morgan Freeman!God is not a villain in any sense of the word.

The thread is working on a sandbox that doesn't have an image.

I did M-R of character pages. 477 wicks remain on Purple Eyes. Should be able to finish the section tomorrow and then the rest of the wicks Thursday.

I'll try and tackle some tomorrow as well.

Ok so I finished the Characters/ subpages. We are now down to 185. Now that the biggest section is out of the way. all of the wicks should be done by tomorrow.

How does the new Mark of the Supernatural disambig target, relate to Supernatural Is Purple?

I guess they overlap? "Mark of the Supernatural is Purple"?

Not sure what you mean? If you mean why I added Mark of the Supernatural to Purple Eyes, it's because purple eyes can be a Mark of the Supernatural.

They sorta feel redundant with each other, is the my issue...

Like all Purple Mark of the Supernatural Eyes, are always also Supernatural Is Purple.

But I guess that's just because we're dealing with Purple Eyes.

Should we merge the targets together? Having it say that if you're turning Purple Eyes into either of the two tropes, you should turn them into both of them?

Not necessarily... for example, if a character’s purple eyes are not unusual in-universe, but on a meta level, they were given that design because of the magical associations, they are an example of Supernatural Is Purple, but not Mark of the Supernatural. This sort of example could happen in works that give everyone Technicolor Eyes.

I think a bigger question would be "what is the relationship between Mark of the Supernatural and Meaningful Appearance?"

Well that's easy . The former is for any physical trait that denotes a supernatural or mystical origin and for Meaningful Appearance the trait can men anything as long as it is factored into the the story and characterization. Meaningful Appearance is a supertrope to Mark of the Supernatural which is the supertrope for things like Supernatural Gold Eyes and Mystical White Hair.

Purple Eyes is down to 4 wicks (an index, the sandbox for this thread, a locked page and a Crappy Trope Definitions that was rewritten to reflect the current state of Purple Eyes). I requested an edit for the Monster.Pokemon page. So, I think we are done with it.

Moving on the Hair Decorations or another trope that's listed in Sandbox.Appearance Tropes Cleanup?

Since the thread previously discussed Hair Decorations and Fingerless Gloves, moving on to at least one of those sounds like a good idea, unless there are more eye colors to go through.

On another thread about the trope, people have suggested that is should be renamed/redefined to Unique Hair Decs, hair Dec's used to distinguish a character. Don't know how feasible this is.

We already have Important Hair Accessory we deals with hair decs that have meaning.

- Cool. So we know where to sort some examples.

So, Magical Accessory is a thing we have. OK...

And presumably Stat Sticks for items in Video Games that give boosts, without being Justified as magical or technological.

Turn it into an Index of relevant tropes, I'd say. The ideas aren't connected enough by just Hair Decs to get a Disamb, I think.

Or redirect to one if it exists already.
