Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages
. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues
thread.

"Specific" in terms of Real Life usually refers to specific locations, people etc.
Anyhow, today's worklist:
- Music. The Cancan Song: That is cutlist fodder, or is there something else the thread wants to try?
- Delirious: Only one YMMV item; creator messaged.
- No Man's Sky: A page about an "upcoming" game, with no examples. Creator messaged.
- This Is A Commentary: Exampleless work page; creator messaged.
Can Can -As it stands, it's cutlist fodder.
Only one person has done anything on it. It needs a better description, fleshed out examples, indexing, and that's just from a glance over.
So cutlist now, or message the creator. If they don't fix it, then cutlist it anyway.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI am a little unsure on what to ask the editor of Music. The Can Can Song - that they turn it into a trope or a work page? Right now, it's more like the former.
Anyhow, today's worklist:
- Apotheosis: Only a few examples with enough context; creator messaged.
- Inu Mo Arukeba/Mans Best Friend: An editor moved the page to the former name. Which name is the English version? Wikipedia suggests the latter, but I want to be 100% sure.
- Rob and Roberta: Only two examples and fairly badly written ones.
- Tadpole Treble: All examples so far lack context; creator messaged.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanGoing to have to repeat my previous question. Also, Sit Rep is at the 3 day window, so it will need a fix as well.
Today's worklist:
- Afterlife with Archie: A "placeholder" article. Creator has been messaged.
- Blue Angel: Exampleless work page. Creator messaged.
- Hands Up: Stubby trope. Creator has been called in.
- HappinessCharge Pretty Cure!: This page has been recreated without trope examples.
- Room: Again with the lack of examples. Creator messaged.
- Xenophobic Egocentric Notorious Otherworlder: Apparently a duplicate of Xenophobic Egocentric Notorious Otherworlders.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman^ On Xeno, yep, by the same guy. Not only that, but it has a "Videogame subpage that has absolutely nothing on it. Really, it still doesn't sound like anything except for someone who Does Not Understand TV Tropes.
I think at this point it's a staff issue, though, given his recreation of a cut page in a way that makes it obvious he's aware it was cut.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpThe Can Can Song: As I stated earlier, my vote is to outright cut it, not rework it.
Hands Up: Cut and send through YKTTW.
Xenophobic Egocentric Notorious Otherworlder: Cut that one as well.
I'll probably take care of a "three works" proposal today. I'll wait for a few more votes on Hands Up.
Today's worklist, by the way:
- The Can Can Song: To be honest, I have to ask if this can be fixed by moving it to the Main/ space - it's a trope page as-is - and probably not cutworthy as-is -, not a work page.
- Lessa: This needs lots of cleaning. I am not up for it at the moment.
- New Year's Eve: No examples. Creator messaged.
Hello. Author of The Cancan Song here. Certainly didn't mean to cause any confusion. The page was intended to be a music sub-trope, but I discovered after the fact that there wasn't an appropriate music-index page to park it on. So whether you want to reclassify it or nuke it outright, I'll abide by your decision.
Seems like you wanted to make a trope about a specific song to me. I advise to go through YKTTW the next time you make a trope - it can avoid lots of confusion.
Anyhow, one last batch of pages before I go to sleep:
- Battle Despair: Stubby article; messaged.
- Los Perros Salvajes: Same as Kerubim...
- Kerubim Y Otros Cuentos: Work page consisting only of an image. Made by a firecat178.
- Operacion Bolivar: Same as Kerubim...
- Sidhemail: Stubby creator page.
- Sil: Stub; creator messaged.
- Whitechapel: Exampleless page. Creator messaged.
I'll see this afternoon about a thread on a Creator/ pages standard.
Anyhow, a few new pages for this thread's attention:
- Winning Over the Kids: Badly written new trope page.
Winning Over the Kids: I see potential, but it badly needs YKTTW. I vote cut the page and advise the poster to send it there.
I fundamentally agree, but due to temporary exhaustion I'll take care of that tomorrow afternoon - and the Get Help With English Thread, too.
Now, another worklist:
- Creepy Scarlett: Stub; creator messaged.
- Hey Youre A Dunce Drag The Dodo: Stub; creator messaged.
- The Matrix Effect: Stub with only Zero Context Examples. What's more, the editor creating it, CMRRosa
, seems to have an issue with no context examples, as demonstrated, for example, by Ben 10 Alien Vampire and Kingdom Hearts III Trials Of The Keyblade.
I took care of the "problem editors"/their pages mentioned above. Also, under the policy agreed upon earlier, I've moved HappinessCharge Pretty Cure! to a sandbox page.
Also, another worklist:
- An Anthem for Sheltered Bays: Only Zero Context Examples. Creator messaged.
- Attack on Titan Abridged: Exampleless page. Noting it here because I feel that it's not the first time that editor came up here.
- Kelly Rowland: Only two examples; creator messaged.
- Mean Time to Breakdown: Stub; creator messaged.
- The Men They Couldn't Hang: Tropeless page; messaged.
- Sliding Scale Of Magic Versus Technology: A "sliding scale" page with no YKTTW or indexing and little crosswicking. Holding off for other people's opinions before messaging the editor.
Sliding Scale Of Magic Versus Technology: Viable concept, the execution could be better.
The description could use more work, in line with other Sliding Scales. The examples could use more detail. I get the impression of 'this is where this work/world falls on the Magitk scale, here's a few bits to show why'. A few details would be helpful in understanding why the trope applies.
I think magic that turns out to be hi tech would probably work as a subversion.
I'd advise kick it back to YKTTW for now.
Attack on Titan Abridged: That page isn't even really a stub. According to his edit history
, that troper's been around more than long enough to know better. If he doesn't fix, cut.
That sliding scale page definitely needs some cooking in YKTTW, so cut and message him to send it through there. I do see some promise with it though.
As a matter of fact, I'm surprised nobody's created something like that before...

People might have seen Magitek and figured that covered it. But this is a very different approach.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettMy own motions on the discussed entries:
- The Cancan Song: I think now to cut the current page and make a YKTTW of it in case we want to reuse it for a trope about that song.
- Sliding Scale Of Magic Versus Technology: Seems like a bad Sliding Scale page to me. I am inclined to cutlist and ask them to cut and re-run it through YKTTW.
- Winning Over the Kids: Seems to have improved a bit. Shall we still cut and YKTTW it?
Also, on CMR Rosa, I will need opinions on the pages they made: Ben 10 Alien Vampire, Ed Edd N Eddy Teen Series (which seems to be the wrong title, anyhow), The Hanging Ten Saga, If-you-don-t-Fight-you-don-t-Survive (which will be cutlisted for being under a hyphenated title), Kingdom Hearts III Trials Of The Keyblade and The Matrix Effect.
On Ekuran's pages, I recall messaging them in the past, but I don't know anymore if it was for ZCE or lack of crosswicking; given [1], [2] and [3] I am inclined to message them again.
A new worklist:
- Rainbow Moon: Stub; creator messaged.
Going to need input on the entries requested in the past post still. Also, I discussed the issues with Ekuran, so we shouldn't get any more problems from there.
Worklist:
- Freakin Awesome Network: No examples; should we ask for some.
- Lessa: Still needs some cleaning.
- Lohengrin: Exampleless work page; creator messaged.
- Phoenix Wright: Devil's Attorney: Only one example; messaged.
- Sidhemail: This will probably need handling in Wiki Talk.
- Super Magic Wars V: Exampleless work page; creator messaged.
- Super Powereds: Exampleless work page; creator messaged.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V: Another unreleased work page without examples; moved to Sandbox/ and messaged.
CMR Rosa: Unless someone else knows the fics and wants to work on the pages, cutlist them.
Winning over the Kids: If it keeps showing improvement and gets up to standard, leave it. If it doesn't improve further, cut and boot to YKTTW.
Freakin Awesome Network: Ask for examples for now.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettGiven the preceding posts, I think I'll hold off on the CMR Rosa for 3 days and message the editors of Winning Over the Kids and Freakin Awesome Network. Apropos, I would consider whether to move the fics to the Main/ space before cutlisting them for stubbiness if they stay that way; seems like a nice way to keep the FanFic/ page open while locking the Main/ one, although it would need some more input.
Going to need a comment on The Cancan Song still; cutlist endorsed, but not conclusively.
Another worklist:
- Last Vegas: Exampleless work page; creator messaged.
- Sliding Scale Of Magic Versus Technology: I'll agree with kicking back to YKTTW, although I wonder if there is someone willing to do the babysitting.
Also, I've made a thread
in Wiki Talk to suggest for a "at least 3 citations" policy for creator pages, as was talked about before in this thread.
Today's worklist is short so far:
- Capto Iugulum: A descriptionless page; in the wrong namespace, to boot.

I would say name of work, and exactly what happened to show the trope is used. Most trope examples tend to be like that.
