Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages
. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues
thread.

We don't need TRS for any of those things. It's still super new. Everything can be solved if we just unlaunch it.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall
Such as similar examples? Or just description writing?
If it's the latter, it's easier to talk about. We can make them stricter so that what counts as one won't count in the other.

We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaSo, address the sponsor of Villain of the Detour on this thread on why it's a dupe.
I do think Ghostfreak 45 rushed in launching the "Green Is Unnatural" page, which is now Supernatural Is Green, which sounds better in my opinion, but the problem is, they launched it immediately after my title suggestion without any further feedback.

I already pinged ~Dream Scrape about Villain of the Detour when I first brought up the trope here
, but it seems that they've not been active since the 1st of August. Ah well, I'll ping them again to be certain.
A quick refresher if I may summarize:
- The "important to the plot" part of the trope is hard to quantify, especially if Chekovs Gun is involved. Also a Lone Wolf Boss may be plot-critical as well.
- Some examples on Villain of the Detour are written as if they were Lone Wolf Boss.
- What's the relationship with Threshold Guardians, Beef Gate and MacGuffin Guardian (from the TLP page)?
- Villain of the Detour sounds like The Same, but More Specific, in comparison to Lone Wolf Boss what sets this trope apart?
If I take a look at another trope they launched, Final Battle-Induced Shirt Loss, I do see the same thing happening: immediately launched after a week after it garnered 5 net hats (literally 5 hats 0 bombs), for a trope that's more specific compared to an existing one, Shirtless Scene. That page has some problems by mixing up Shirtless Scene and Walking Shirtless Scene in the description. There's also quite some ZCEs, and examples that are stated in the description as not qualifying for the trope.
For example:
Yet under Films - Live Action we have this:
Mind you I do think we have a trope here, because I can think of some examples off the top of my head, but it seems that this trope was not touched up during the TLP, or after launch, because these issues have persisted for well over a year.

I don't know if this fits this thread, but I'll ask:
I hope someone can adopt my TLP draft Personally Relating
. I know I'm no longer around there anymore.
Can A Molten Date with Death count pools of molten metal?
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaI felt that Systematic Villain Takedown would overlap a lot with Villain of the Week.
What could differentiate them?
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaA Monster of the Week is present for just one episode; victims of Systematic Villain Takedown are a recurring presence that are taken out one by one. In Sailor Moon, for example, the Monsters of the Week are the youma and the Systematic Villains are the Shitennou. There shouldn't be much, if any, overlap.
Plus the Monster of the Week for one story doesn't necessarily have to be related to the Monster of the Week of the next, while the villains caught up in a Systematic Villain Takedown are all connected by being part of the Big Bad's group, if not a Big Bad Ensemble unto themselves.
The rest of the page looks fine to me, but Tanuki/Kitsune Contrast has the same source for the quote and the page image (sort of, the page is from a review show but it's clearly still Animal Crossing). Is this an issue?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. It's generally something we try to avoid, but it's not against the rules or anything.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallScary Sun Spider rogue launched by someone with minimal involvement in the discussion, while title was still in debate.
Do not do that. Cutlisting an trope will discard the draft. Holler the mods to unlaunch it.
So, this has been ignored for two and a half years, but what should we do with Overly Long Hug? I had asked this question at the ATT
, and added it's disclaimer as a rogue launched trope.
Err. 2 years is kinda too late to worry about a rogue launch.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallYes, and I have to resist being salty about it. My concern that it's low on wicks. I do think me soft dewicking it doesn't help its case due to its status as a rogue launched trope.
ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔Probably a TRS candidate then if it's not thriving. Then maybe it can be sent back to TLP and properly launched.

ETA: Providing context as this one's a pagetopper.
