Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages
. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues
thread.

I believe so, yeah.
Honestly I don't want to monopolize this thread, so here's a new one
for the sake of discussing the experiment. Join me there, won't you?

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallWiki.Villains Wiki was created with ZCE's. Issue was brought up in the ZCE cleanup thread.
Stub notifier has been sent.
A query was made on Ask The Tropers
stating the OP has already put it on the Cut List.
Not sure if it's worth the page, but figure better to do it and not have to.
Four hats and basically no description. Just sayin'
.
Edit: Never mind I'm working on it
Septimus Heap said I should bring this here:
I created the page Two Lines Different Times, but I did not realize/remember Meanwhile, in the Future… also existed and I was not referred to it in the TLP stage, so I'm sorry for not doing enough research first and causing this problem. However, I still think Two Lines Different Times is distinct enough to warrant at least not being deleted. From what I can tell it looks like Meanwhile, in the Future… may overall be something like Flashback Cut that does not necessarily mean the entire story is alternating between flashbacks and the present day. Also it looks like there's a good amount of overlap with Meanwhile, in the Future… and San Dimas Time, so I think the solution at this point would be to somehow distinguish Meanwhile, in the Future… and Two Lines Different Times more, possibly making it so Meanwhile, in the Future… is only when a "time cut" (essentially a non-character-centered Flashback Cut) sort of thing happens in a time travel story but is not in-universe enough to be considered San Dimas Time.

So I guess Meanwhile, in the Future… is a one-off thing while Two Lines Different Times is a recurrent thing (and can also count "in the past" too)?
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaI agree with that differentiation but I think there are many examples on the Meanwhile, in the Future… page that would also fall into Two Lines Different Times
Souls-like RPG launched...
I'm not happy about the name, because it's unclear.
But if you others don't think so, then we can leave it be.

Maybe in a few years like how GTA Clone became Wide-Open Sandbox, but right now Souls-like is the term.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them."Soulslike" is a fairly common pre-existing term outside this wiki and I think using it is fine. If I had my druthers, I'd drop the "RPG" part since it doesn't really add anything and I can't say I've seen it commonly used as part of the term.
FWIW, The Other Wiki uses the term without the hyphen and without the "RPG": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Souls_(series)#Legacy

- Well, I did have the preliminary idea of Glass Player Action RPG, as a play on Glass Cannon...
Given how the games are centered around the fragility of the player and needing to use chip damage to take bosses out, or something.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576We have Roguelike. And it's still going strong now.

- Yes... I should have mentioned that the comment
directly after mine said:
I'm gonna take that as Sincerity Mode...

While Fan Myopia is a thing, I think trying to change a term so widely accepted in the industry that it's more well known than its inspiration just comes across as trying to be "unique" for its own sake, which is missing the point of the "clear" of Clear, Concise, Witty.

My musician pageYeah, pretty much every gaming site I follow uses roguelike freely. I think putting soulslike on the same level as that and Metroid Vania is fine
HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOR MARIAWhen a term is widely recognized outside of TV Tropes, it is generally acceptable to use it for a trope name even if it otherwise violates our rules, such as being named after a specific work or character (e.g. The Scrappy). That said, we should apply a high standard of scrutiny to make sure the trope is specific (not so vague as to attract misuse), meaningful (will not attract tons of ZCEs), and is not a transient meme.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Berserk Button: misusing Nightmare Fuel
I have seen the term "Soulslike" used a lot by many different people in many different places, to the point where I think using a different term would actually cause more confusion than using a more descriptive term, especially since it's very hard, perhaps impossible, to capture every little nuance of the term without making the trope name a full sentence.
The comparison to Roguelike is apt.
Heh, gotta love it when a draft gets posted with a one-line description gets six hats.
Doubly so when you notice that you wrote the majority of the actual text of said draft.
Triply so when you find out this person is copying your work in multiple drafts. :P
(To clarify, the poster is Flowersnf and I'm referring to his copying from the Ruder and Cruder draft)

The bigger problem I see on Souls-like RPG is that it has no proper examples and no trace of crosswicking.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's a genre index, similar to Platform Game, so I think it's fine that it doesn't have descriptions and wasn't crosswicked.

I think I Have Many Names lists some examples that could also apply to Constantly Changing Name but the way it's used typically refers to a character having many titles or nicknames at the same time. Not sure if CCN would be a subtrope, or if any examples from IHMN that better fit CCN should just be split off into CCN.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
