Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages
. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues
thread.

I'm opposed to having a mod move mostly on principal; not unlaunching it, even if it got a lot of edits at this point, makes it seem like the launcher's actions are no longer a concern just because it's been a little while. They not only launched a trope with a bad name while ignoring the people who protested about it, but went and re-wrote the description of another trope in the process, with only one other troper's agreement.
It should be unlaunched and their edits reverted for the sake of proper discussion, not just given a mod-move as if the name is the only issue.
I may sound harsh here since there's history that'll be lost, but it shouldn't have been launched in this state in the first place.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall^^ Yeah, if it's examples you're worried about, you're not going to get much more than you already have. Toys-to-Life Games are huge undertakings to produce, so very few of them were ever created. And since the genre has kind of fallen from grace at this point, it's not very likely that very many more ever will be made.
If it needs anything, it sorely needs a description. It barely has one as it is.

I suppose that an unlaunch would be a stronger indicator for a launcher to address concerns and not change other tropes without real agreement, plus the trope may turn out better in the long run with some improvement in TLP. We'll see what the mods will do.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Kabbalic Golem and Introverted Chick Magnet have been unlaunched. The troper who launched the latter has been suspended.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'd like to come back to Toys-To-Life Game. Although it is the name of a genre, I do think it's too specific to be very tropeable. There are other games that blend the medium, but doesn't do it with toys specifically.
Things that spring to mind are:
- Barcode battler
which allows you to scan barcodes and play minigames.
- The chip gate from MegaMan Battle Network
which is a peripheral that you plug into a gba and swipe chips through.
However other games also allow you to use signals that aren't specific to the game and it isn't the main focus of it. Things like:
- Monster Rancher 4's
disc swap system which gives you new monsters by swapping discs when the game is running (at a specific spot).
- The World ends with You's
mingle mode which can pick up wi-fi or bluetooth signals and gives you a boost in pin points.
I think there are more examples to find if we were to broaden the definition of the trope somewhat, define it as "Games that allows outside input that isn't the system itself" and call it something like Real Life Input Peripheral. I know that Toys-To-Life Game is an actual genre, so maybe redirect it as well if we go for a rename?

There are two other toy to life drafts. I'm on mobile, but the one with 15 hats is this one.
Collateral Damage can count more than just "stray shots", right? I'm thinking of cases where an attack hits the intended target AND unintended ones around it/in the line of fire as well.
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenza"This trope covers those moments when a character intends to shoot one thing, but ends up hitting someone or something they were not intending to."
I'd say yes.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.The OP of the recently launched Kabbalic Golem, Pfff 133, has made a thread
regarding the creation of Golem-related tropes, especially the aformentioned Kabbalic Golem. All I can say is that, in his explanation, he is quite upset
that he was not contacted about this about unlaunching his draft.
Also, I need you to review the "Tactical Becomes Practical
" draft I'm grabbing.
Yeah, we messed up there. In the future we should do better to contact the launchers of these drafts...at the very least, the ones who aren't rogue launchers.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI'm confused over Magical Jew. Is it "magical" like Magical Negro (in that the Jewish person is a wise mentor) or like Magical Romani (in that they're literally magical)? Examples of both are included.
The current description seems to suggest the figurative sense, not the literal one.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Can / should we put that "Magical", in Air Quotes?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Business Is Business just launched, but the most recent comment on the draft
is pointing out an unresolved issue with the name; and unlike with Kabbalic Golem, this one was posted about a week ago. The sponsor had more than enough time to respond and didn't.
I'm also a bit salty since I just launched my own trope and now this one will hog all the new edits and attention, but I promise I wouldn't be bringing it here if not for the unresolved title issue.

It's too similar to Enemy Mine. Please cut.
Hmm, there's definitely more reason to send it back, then.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall@ Keystone Superpower: wouldn't Power Copying be logically a fullblooded subtrope of this? Asking this because the former's page has Power Copying examples.
Actually, most of what I can found there are Power Copying. And at least one example is Swiss-Army Superpower instead.

Agreed with unlaunching Introverted Chick Magnet.
As for not Toys-To-Life Game not getting an edit since launch, maybe it's because it's a rather niche topic with just enough examples to make it a trope, but not with more that can be added?
With Kabbalic Golem, ask for a mod move by this point?
