TLP Crash Rescue - Fixing prematurely launched TLPs and pages

Go To

Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.

Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.

For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages. Launches

Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues thread.

Pirate Versus Ninja is some weird page with actual content. Cutlist it?

It used to be a subtrope of Cool Versus Awesome until Jonny B deleted it on the 19th and replaced it with the stock "there is no page here" text.

OK, after further review, it seems that they did launch the YKTTW to the proper page (Pirates vs. Ninjas), but made the page at Pirate Versus Ninja, and didn't use the Cut List to remove the wrong page after they noticed the mistake.

Religion Equals Race. This one has never been through YTTW and only has two examples. What should be done about it?

That may be a trope, but it certainly needs a lot of work. If someone's willing to take it through YKTTW, I'd say go for it, but if not, cut it.

That one was already mentioned. Yeah, what Nocturna said.

The Wars of Darkness and Sixx:A.M.: Tropeless stubs. Wait for a while in case that they add tropes?

[up][up][up] I said axe it in the first place.

It's just "these are the most associated races with certain religions. Sometimes they're not always accurate." That's not a trope.

I'm inclined to agree with Larkmarn.

I've cutlisted that.

How is it not complete? It looks like all it's lacking is indexes and that's an easy fix.

Also, it needs Crosswicking. I've messaged the account in question.

I Survived was created in the Main/ namespace back in January of this year as a page for the Biography Channel series of the same name. Not only is it in the wrong namespace, but there is no description of the series, there is just one trope listed (Too Soon - which is Trivia, not a proper trope), and its YMMV page's sole contents are two Zero Context Examples.

It has no inbounds but there were wicks on four pages, which I've changed to point to Series.I Survived, a page that doesn't actually exist yet; anyone familiar enough with the series to actually put at least a couple of paragraphs of description and at least three tropes? (Crosswicking from the four pages in question wouldn't be enough, as just one of them - Out-of-Character Alert - is a trope rather than Trivia or a Moments page.)

As for I Survived, it's on the cutlist.

The Wars of Darkness has now enough examples that I would consider it ready for the wiki.

That said, I still need more opinions on Raising Dragons. Namely, whether a rewrite and a move to Raising Dragons or a cut and message are warranted.

Dragons in Our Midst is a lovely, complete page. Aside from the lack of index. I'm fairly sure that Raising Dragons is adequately covered by that, and the page isn't big enough that it needs to be split into its component books. So I'd say just cut Raising Dragons.

EDIT: I indexed Dragons in Our Midst.

I've cutlisted Raising Dragons.

Also, Monopoly Pinball Ticker Messages. The creator said it was a Just for Fun page; any input here?

Gingitsune's first episode has been released on Crunchyroll

should we remove the lock on it's page?

Your best bet is in the unlocking requests topic in Wiki Talk.

I should have said something earlier, but it just now occurred to me that Raising Dragons could have been turned into a redirect to Dragons In Our Midst instead of being cut.

Literature.Raising Dragons makes a better redirect, though.

They way we used to do things, I think 12 inbounds would have been enough to justify turning it into a redirect. However, under the new system (I'm not sure when it was implemented) by turning Literature.Raising Dragons into a redirect, people will see that listed when they visit Raising Dragons. I didn't realized that when I first made the suggestion.

A new page: Family Dog. Technically enough tropes, but all bar one Zero Context Examples, and in the wrong namespace to boot. Cut?
