Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues thread.

Launcher is the sponsor, yet has hardly contributed from their draft.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI also support to send it back. Though it needs to be said that no rules were broken. Just another bit of evidence that the TLP system is not working in the way it should be.
My mistake on that it was launched by the sponsor.
I can't read apparently.

Name and description need work and the picture is of nothing.
Vote to send back.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportFormula with a Twist is about shows that follow a certain genre's formula give some twists to them.
Except that Strictly Formula (the older trope FWAT is based on) is about the formula of a single work, not a genre-wide formula.
What to do? Could FWAT's description be fixed a bit?

Personally I find it needlessly unclear for the sake of being concise (and completely lacking in the "witty").
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I have concerns about Formula with a Twist in that I feel like a few different things are being shown here and it's not all genre formulas. Stuff like Alice In Wonderland(2010) is listed as twisting the formula of an old work, not a genre, while examples like Die Hard were based around standards of the genre. Also there's stuff like Film/Enchanted which is a deliberate parody and not really just the formula with a twist.

Kishōtenketsu was launched with literally not a single bit of discussion, let alone launch announcement, five hats, and only three examples.
At the very least, Kishotenketsu Story Structure would be a less obtuse name.

A bunch of tropes were launched today / late last night, and only a handful were properly crosswicked. I sent notifiers to all the other sponsors, but...in my experience, sponsors who refuse to crosswick won't do it after a notifier, either.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHi, so this may be out of the purview of this thread, but:
While digging around for old drafts for TLP cleanup, I found this old draft for Evil Nephew. It's basically the same as the trope page, but since it wasn't removed from TLP ~XFllo suspects that it was made straight to Main/ without consensus before the site forbade that kind of thing. I don't think this is the first draft I've found like this, either.
What to do about stuff like that? Do we just discard the draft? Link it to the page's discussion? Unlaunch, remake, then launch again (although the page is old and has wicks so redlinks will abound)?
Chariot Pulled by Cats says that "Cats and Panthera Awesome are an extremely popular choice, so much so they form an Internal Subtrope." But why is it called "pulled by cats" then?
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaIt's a title that captures the essence of the trope, even if it sounds more narrow than the trope actually is. Every other title discussed failed for one reason or another.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessRe: Chariot: As long as people know that Tropes Are Flexible, it should still be fine. For example, the pic chosen by IP has bears instead.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportRe: Chariot Pulled by Cats trope title — to summarize, we went with something quirky and hopefully witty; it was compared to Bunny-Ears Lawyer. Other suggestions were too bland- Unusual Draft Animal was the second fairly popular choice in the discussion. I'd say this one was fairly clear, somewhat concise but not witty at all; and there is the issue of draught/draft in Commonwealth/US spelling — not ideal to have redirects if other name can do better.
Anyway, the draft had many hats and the launch announcement in TLP was posted for over a week with NAME OK? in the laconic, and nobody complained. So I guess the consensus was strong.
Synchronicity, thanks for bringing up Evil Nephew here. Is there anything that can be done about it? It's been up for a long time though, so it's probably late to unlaunch and relaunch.
You are right that it's not the only time it happened (that a trope was made based on active TLP without being launched from the TLP). The very same thing happened with Long Last Look. We later found Final Glance Around. I thought there was a mod-approved action of launching this TLP as a redirect, mainly to archive the discussion, but now I've found the draft is nuked, not launched. It doesn't bother me in this case because Long Last Look is in a rather good shape as a trope.
But I do have some doubts about Evil Nephew.
And War Jay 77 is absolutely correct about people launching TLP without cross-wicking. I get that it takes time and that someone might do it gradually, but they should be reminded that cross-wicking is mandatory.
And other issue that has been discussed in this thread: ~Chabal 2 is still not formatting the examples in TLP properly (no namespace, no italics for titles, no indication which media the example belongs to). It would be okay for a newbie in TLP but Chabal 2 should know better already.
ETA: I agree that Kishōtenketsu should be sent back to TLP.
Edited by XFllo on Nov 28th 2019 at 5:11:13 PM
They actually have been using namespaces...just not italics.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHm, I actually think I saw some recent additions without namespaces but good to hear it's getting better.
Multiple Choice Afterlife was rogue launched.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportCelebrity Break-Up Song was launched with 4 net hats (8 hats, 4 bombs). TLP draft.
Few weeks ago we have launched the trope Comic Book Continuation, which is about comics that are written to follow up on other media. As it turns out we have Sequel in Another Medium, which seems to be a Super-Trope, but it is a Trivia item. I asked this on the duplicate tropes cleanup thread on Trope Talk, but I wanted to put it up here for more opinions.
Separate Birthday Twins was launched by someone who only briefly participated in the draft.
I also question its tropeworthiness, but that's something I could bring to TRS instead, if the page is kept.
