Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues thread.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportHas anyone else noticed that... there are a lot more yk's being launched on the regular since the new site design launched. It's odd, and not all of them are good.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!One thing I'm not sure is an improvement to the new format is that it's no longer possible to add tags to certain YKTTWs such as Needs Better Name and Motion To Discard. What *is* an improvement is that it's simply impossible to launch with less than 5 hats and three days of discussion, which minimalizes the amount of bad launches quite a bit. Which new tropes do you think have issues, however?
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"They don't all have technical issues, per se, but because of the new restrictions, many people are either launching their own tropes, or launching other tropes they come across, without proper discussion. Thus, they could be improved whilst all the site-quality tropes are still in yk being worked on (if you look now, there's drafts with 10+ hats because, sure they're good, but they can be better). Just looking through some with sketchy launch dates, tropers, and names, you think "this could go back, this could be improved". And the biggest problem with a lot is the names. I think without the tags, there's little discussion of names. I'd also argue that the new color-scheme and layout doesn't aid understand to what everything is, so people are just preferring to get out of there.

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!I actually agree. Things get launched much quicker, and honestly at lower quality.
I think the problem is that it's soooooo much easier to add hats.
Right now, there are only two automated means of feedback: Saying Discard and saying Add Hat. "Discard" sounds very extreme, "Add Hat" doesn't. So people just throw on hats even when they don't think it's ready to be published and are less likely to remove them since they don't want to discard the whole draft.
On a personal level, I just don't like it as much anymore so I stay out.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.^^ Without concrete examples to support your argument it still sounds like you're making a largely subjective evaluation about what constitutes "Site-quality tropes" or "they could be improved". Really the only objective way we can measure this ATM is through a specific number of hats—if you can get at least 5 people to agree that the trope is ready to launch, you're good to go. Larkmarn does raise a point of concern about problems surrounding the hat system, which I agree with. This would probably be a Wiki Talk discussion, but perhaps we should raise the number of hats that are required for launch?
^ That's one of the reasons why I doubt removing the tag system was a good innovation, which it seems at least the three of us so far are in unison on. It's now only possible to point out more detailed issues in discussion, which is much less likely to be noticed by anyone.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Way To Dodge The Bullet Man goes back a few years, but there doesn't appear to be a YKTTW, there are only three examples, no wicks, and it's unindexed.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Since that trope seems to be a worse-described and less-used version of Serendipitous Survival and Missed Him by That Much, I say kill it.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!It's also a Stock Phrase. Nuke it.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportNot to mention it's confusing since we have a 100% unrelated trope in Dodge the Bullet.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. One of those "really old, but definitely stubby:" Roleplay.Pandora. The Characters page has a handful of entries with examples, but basically no examples on the main page. There's one ZCE and one... that I'd call half-context.
The page has been unedited in two years.
And as a result it, we've got this odd disambig: Main.Pandora
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.If it's got a good characters page then I'd suggest sticking it on Needs Wiki Magic Love and hoping it gets some
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!"Good" is strong. It has... a few hundred entries, maybe six of which actually have examples.
Anyway you cut it it's really poor form.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Okay, I've looked at those pages. Scrap that characters page. Seriously. Wow, that hurt to read through (of course, if there is anything useful for those 10 characters with an actual entry, you could put it on their own character pages). Scrap the Main. disambig, but make sure that Main.Pandoras Box is a redirect to Sealed Evil in a Can first. I think that, alright, the Roleplay.Pandora page can stay. However, as a trope-less work summary. The two "examples" it has can easily be incorporated into the description, and I think at least the second part is worthy of a mention in there somewhere.
EDIT: so Pandora's Box is a redirect for Public Domain Artifact, but that links to SEIAC

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!BMX Bandits has several tropes listed, but most of them are zero context.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"From Ask The Tropers (here, specifically):
Creator. The Black Duelist. After removing everything on the page that was dependent on referencing non-existent works, we're left with a one-line description and links to two work pages. It's not even indexed. Given the apparent handle of the author is banned (though likely posting through a sockpuppet), is there a point to this incredibly stubby Creator/ page? We could have just as much information by simply linking the two fanfic pages to each other.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I say nuke it. We could link the two fics to each other if they aren't already, preferably in the intro.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportAlright, I'm going to go ahead with the cleanup.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Aktuelle Kamera lacks a trope list.
