The in character version: My fellow revolutionaries! Too long have work names languished in potholes, making searching impossible! The first instance of a work name when it is listed as an example of a trope should not be locked behind a pothole that only makes sense to people familiar with the series! I'm making it my life's mission to free all of those so falsely imprisoned! Now who's with me?
The boring version: When you Entry Pimp a work name on a trope page, please leave the work name un-potholed, and if you come across any such potholes, please free the work name from said pothole. This makes the wiki less confusing overall for everybody.
Here's an example of how to liberate works names. On the page Absent-Minded Professor, Professor Oak was once listed as an example with nothing but:
It's since been changed to:
- Pokémon Red and Blue's Professor Oak is so absent-minded he doesn't remember his own grandson's name, leaving it up to the player to remind him.
(Of course, you don't have to be fancy when you liberate a pothole, but sometimes a little bit of elaboration is helpful.)
Until the wiki as a whole decides to adopt this as a matter of course, please be a roaming works name liberator like I am. (Current project: Liberating Punctuated! For! Emphasis!.)

I prefer not to have it. However, I always put the name of the work first then a colon. I feel that using the name of the work first is like titling a paper and tells the reader exactly what we're talking about.

Crossover Ship has a tendency to pothole the work pages in characters' name, which isn't really helpful without context due to cases of Names The Same. I cleaned up the Anime & Manga subpage, but I'm sure there's still a lot of them.

Zerg Rush, That One Sidequest, Man of a Thousand Voices, and Stupid Statement Dance Mix should be clean now. Success Through Insanity and the rest of Punctuated! For! Emphasis! are also taken care of, I believe. Capital Letters Are Magic depends on whether the two list sections, "Metaphysical Concepts" and "Races" should also have the work names un-potholed.

I noticed that ~@Brady 13 edited Underwear Flag to hide the title of WesternAnimation.Doug in a pothole of the titular character's name. Brady, this is not meeting wiki standards, this thread is to coordinate the efforts of tropers working to ensure that titles are visible, not hidden in potholes. Have you made this error anywhere else?
If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight.
