It outlasted The Boondocks, which was incidentally the first time I read Fox Trot.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackI first read it in the mid 90s when I found a book of it at the bookstore. I would often go in and look at the comic strip compilations they had. Discovered Sherman's Lagoon, Close to Home, Committed, Baby Blues, Zits, and a whole lot of other strips that way.
Its tone really changed over time. I liked it best in the mid-late 90s, when they balanced real Slice of Life humor with the nerdy humor. Some of the later daily strips get a little too lost in the nerd humor and/or jokes that he'd done before, but it was still mostly a funny strip.
I feel that going to Sundays-only has limited him too much, though. There's no room to do story arcs or week-long running gags anymore. Even so, he still puts out a good one.

Fox Trot is the kind of comic strip that is pretty interesting to read at times.
I was pretty sad when I heard that the comic strip would only contain Sunday strips starting in 2007. To me, that makes the strip half-dead.
At least Pearls Before Swine happily pointed out the impact of changing a strip like that!
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!
