"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."![]()
Aww, don't tell me that, I was gonna go see it nextish week.
The car movie was a step below Jack Reacher, during which I fell asleep, and two below Parental Guidance, which I found abhorrent and rage inducing.
You will? Prepare to see two actors who ahve zero chemistry trying to pretend they're each other's true love. It's nauseating.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerNothing, but the scenes with Daisy and Gatsby in the movie are supposed to convince us they're in an idyllic romance (even though that later turns out to have been a flimsy dream), but the actors have absolutely no chemistry. It's just awkward.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI didn't say the movie is bad, but standards to surpass are high if you take whole franchise in the consideration. Still a huge improvement compared to the first movie in reboot series.
There are hints that the bad guy might be AU Khan.
Will they reboot "Space Whales"?

My President is Funny Valentine. If the movie is trying to convince you that they're in an idyllic romance then that's the problem right there. I mean, I'm pretty sure the first thing Gatsby does that impresses her has nothing to do with his love or devotion but rather that he owns a lot of really nice clothing.
Their chemistry shouldn't really matter in the first place.

You ninja'ed, but I can confirm what you said is true. I'm English Studies student and had to read it. I major in legal translation with a minor in literature, and belong to uni's American Literature and Culture club, so I'm semi-expert.

My President is Funny Valentine.Agreed. Though the references to the originals did get a bit overdone, and I didn't even see them.
Added another somewhat overly-descriptive dream to the weird dreams thread.

The sad, REAL American dichotomy
Ha, that reminds me. Last night, while out at dinner wif ma homesliceys, I was telling one about a dream I had where I was really cheerful and helpful, instead of being a Rei Ayanami Expy, and how weird that was. He agreed, and I followed up with, "and then, a few days later, I had a dream about abortion". Which made him laugh more than expected.
Thanks to the Magic of Netflix!, I may start watching Breaking Bad. Currently watching the first episode.
The thing that bugs me, though, is...
A racist got rewarded $10. And he was wrong. Should've lost $20. Somehow I feel like I've been cheated of $30.
Also, I keep seeing this "Captain Cook" kid as Deidara. "This is art!"

I was supposed to watch that, but instead we got The Great Gatsby, which sucked. Good to know the car movie was just as bad.
