Yeah, Saiga's our big outlier timezone-wise. Shlugo and I play in the dead of night, Arha and Mad usually play in the afternoon/towards the end of the day bu it's always morning for Saiga!

...I have a favorite ship, in all paths of a multiple ending story, in a game I've never played, in a series I've never played, on a console I don't even own.
Yup, I ship (Either gender, but especially)Female!Byleth with Edelgard in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
So I've actually been watching cutscenes, supports, and reading wiki summaries of the game's various routes and characters, to better get to know the game. The scripting in this game seems extensive. But it also saddens me that out of multiple endings, no matter what, at least two main characters get screwed, even though in a better world with more actual conversation, things could be better. If there were a Golden Ending, I think it'd lie somewhere between Edelgard and Dimitri's routes.
Has anyone else played the game? Am I weird for getting invested in that? What are the odds that a year and a half after the last DLC, the game gets one more DLC that actually gives a happy ending?

Lol, I don't have that kind of time. I'm also a friggin' softie, so having to choose some characters over others isn't something I'd enjoy doing.
EDIT: Having seen more of the game, and seeing some responses from players, I'm starting to feel like the Crimson Flower and Silver Snow routes were made because the developers didn't expect as positive an initial fan response to Edelgard as there seem to have been, and split and merged some stories in order to accommodate players who wanted to play as both her and her team. Plus I kind of feel like the Verdant Wind path probably got lumped into that reshuffling. Like she was initially supposed to be a tragic villain with some decent arguments, and set the story for a different final enemy, but then they added the option to play as her. But that route wasn't fully thought out, they gave what should have been her final villain to another story, and overall they didn't give the story enough nuance to justify... anything. And yet the main theme is a tragic song from Edelgard's point of view. Hmm.
Plus some less than receptive fan responses to someone late to the party leave me feeling... down on the whole thing. So now I'm like... "Well, I guess I made some bad decisions on what to like? The wonder is dead. I just want a good, happy story. I'm gonna go back to platformers and fighting games, where emotions and endings are simpler."
At the very least, I'll enjoy some pairings in my headcanon of "this is what the story should/could have been"
- Female Byleth and Edelgard
- Manuela and Hanneman
- Dorothea and Petra
- Shamir and Catherine
- Dimitri and... someone.
It feels weird trying to get a feel for a franchise for a couple weeks, and going from 0 to 60 and back to 0 in that time. Maybe I should just stick to playing Shining Force.
On that note, I finally watched "The Last" Naruto movie, and I do appreciate how they wrapped up the main story with Hinata and Naruto being sweet and lovey. Life sucks more and more, year after year. I could use some positive escapism.
