Okay, I keep hearing about a supposed Reboot of The Powerpuff Girls coming next year.

From what I hear Lauren Faust more or less confirmed that something was happening at an MLP panel in LA recently...

Can anyone here confirm wether or this this is a fake?

Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust are busy with Wander over Yonder. If there is a reboot in the works, its unlikely they're involved with it.

Is there a video of this panel where she mentions something about PPG?

Question and Craig McCracken's answer on October 3 & 8, 2011:

Is this for real? [link]
Nope not for real.

Question and Lauren Faust's answer on September 3, 2012:

There's a rumor about a new PPG show by Butch Hartman, and you and Craig are working on it too. Is the rumor true or just a fake?
neither Butch, Craig nor myself are working on a new PPG.

Question and Lauren Faust's answer on September 18, 2012:

Confirm or deny, if you please.... pic.twitter.com/T54TNoIi
Honest? I actually have no idea.

Question and Genndy Tartakovsky's answer on September 27, 2012:

Heard a rumor that The Powerpuff girls is getting rebooted...is this true?
I have no inside information

But yes

Question and Tara Strong's answer on September 28, 2012:

Just so we all can have closure, can you fill us in on this? pic.twitter.com/WTVuq6jD

They should just dub Powerpuff Girls Z and bring it over here.

[up]Trust me, they've been promising for years. I've about given up hope at this point.

We bronies should know that Tara is not a reliable source of information, as much as we love her and her antics, but Genndy's answer intrigues me. He has no inside information, but he knows there's a reboot in the works? Note that he wouldn't be involved in a reboot either, he left Cartoon Network after being screwed over for the last time and is working on a Popeye film. Plus he's, like, best buds with Craig & Lauren.

Does Genndy have a history of trolling fans?

[up][up][up][up]PPGZ was dubbed in Canada years ago, but it was a badly Bowdlerized mess. Cartoon Network Latin America adapted that with a Mexican dub that recovered all the voices of the original PPG Mexican dub, but Buttercup's voice. Bubbles' voice actress did a splendid job changing her tone from Original Bubbles' babylike tone to Miyako's more mature voice, while still being recognizable. And yes, they showed the series here until early this year.

[up]'S'fake. Even if it was real, this project was supposedly helmed by Butch Hartman, and he cannot write a female character to save his life.

That Butch Hartman remake rumor was confirmed false by Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust, so whatever reboot Genndy Tartakovsky confirmed would be separate from that.

I hope it's true. I was obsessed with the Powerpuff girls when I was younger. Their aesops were good sometimes. The only episodes I didn't like was when the girls were out of character.

Just found this exchange with Craig McCracken from a couple months ago; that "Guess who's back? 9.13.2013" pic can be disregarded, then. Also, here's a clarification regarding whatever it was Lauren Faust said earlier this month.

So....

The Powerpuff Girls Special: “Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice…plus a dash of mysterious Chemical X” were the essential ingredients that created Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup—also known as The Powerpuff Girls. This groundbreaking and Emmy®-winning series, created by Craig Mc Cracken, ran on Cartoon Network from 1998-2005 and will soar again as a brand-new, redesigned and re-imagined CG special coming in 2013 where the trio of pint-sized super heroines will be called upon to rescue not just the city of Townsville, but the USA and the world! Featuring an original song “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl” performed by Beatles legend Ringo Starr, who also portrays Townsville’s most famous flamboyant mathematician, “Fibonacci Sequins,” this all-new original special comes from a powerhouse creative team featuring animation talent from around the globe including acclaimed director Dave Smith and award-winning art director Kevin Dart and is produced by Cartoon Network Studios in association with UK’s Passion Pictures. The special also features the original voice cast reprising their iconic roles and will premiere later this year.

Green Lantern showed that with good enough writing the viewers could squint past the CGI, and so it was rated high enough to be canceled.

I nevere cared for the Beatles music so ringo starr doing music for this means little to me, personally.

CG? Ew. Not sure how PPG's artstyle would transfer well into it, since it was so stylized.
