Ran into the fourth book of the series by chance and suddenly remembered I had actually read the two first books in the series but had completely forgotten about them after. Ditto for what happens in them as well. Seems to be happening more often as I'm getting older.

Anyone here who has actually finished the series and tell me if it'd be worth it to pretty much read the first two books again and then wrap up the series?

It doesn't seem like I can find a good detailed summary anywhere and I hate reading something while constantly wondering who this character was again.

Yes, it is worth it.
