I am quite aa fan of Dracula and , I just realise something, I feel realy sorry for Jonathan. I mean in every single adaptation, expansion and etc, bare two he gets cuckolded , and I think only in one there is some happy ending for him. Yeah he is quite bland in comparison, but after, Dracula 1992, Dracula un-Dead, Dracula tapes, Dracula undead,Bloodlines, and plenty more he is cuckolded bu Dracula and Mina, and I don't really know why, in novel it was pretty clear that Harkers love each other , and Dracula-Mina relation is pretty much victimi-rapist , yet every adaption goes with Wilhelmina loves Dracula and is with J Onathan because of pitty, Why is that ? When this change started dominating ? I can recall only two situation that avert this both from comics, Lo EG where they divorced, but because of his paranoia about Mina scars, and in Tomb of Dracula comics which is only expansion that i can think of that actual keeps the fact they married and had a child together. I feel sorry for this bland guy.

I don't get where that comes from either. Can't say what I think about any adaptations as I haven't seen any, but he's a fairly cool guy in the book.

Looking for some stories?

They are also together at the end of the BBC's version from 1977. I really like this version because it is the most faithful to the book, though it has some weird special effects going on whenever Dracula gets hungry. I would recommend that people give it a watch.

[up][up][up]If anything, Louis Jourdan's performance as Dracula in that series was among the best if not the best depiction of the Count ever. Knocks Gary Oldman's depiction, the best one in modern cinema, into a cocked hat.

Why is Jourdan the best Dracula for me? Because he gave me nightmares. The man is terrifying, and he makes a convincing ageless demon. And it all blends well with the lovely rich vocal performance he gives.
