Anarchy took quick aim with her bow, firing an arrow at the beast before lifting her machete in front of her,

"Come on! Come and fucking die!"

She took a hobbling step back, running was out of the question obviously, she threw down her bow, drawing a bowie knife with her other hand. She held her two weapons in a fighting stance.

"GETINTHEJEEP!" Red said as he hopped back in it, this time, not bothering to put his seatbelt on. He would wait about one and a quarter seconds for Dale and Jim to follow suit. If they didn't, he floored the Jeep, gunning it towards the wolf.

Jerry had just looked through the scope when all he saw was a balled up mass of chainlink fence flying at him, he then dropped to one knee and rolled out of the way, then attempted to set another shot on the ghoul.

By the time Recon had finished the task of taking ammo out of one magazine to fill up another, (Which isn't really something you can do very quickly.) the succubus had wandered close enough for him to hear what she was yelling at the monsters.

"Go, away! Stop attacking, and leave already!" the demonette yelled, having to stop and gasp for breath often. Officer Clark couldn't help but tear his eyes away from her to glance down at the monsters at the barricade.

"I don't fucking believe this. Look" Officer Clark muttered, pointing down at them. The ghoul, the runners, and the rats all turned around, and started leaving. "This is... I don't... No, it's gotta be a trick, but now's the perfect chance" he thought aloud, and brought the scope up to his eye to aim at the succubus. Before he could pull the trigger, another crossbow bolt came in and skimmed his side, making him yelp in pain and nearly drop the rifle. The succubus took one glance up at the two men, wings stretching out and up at the ready; then she turned and flapped them down to make a short but quick hop around a building corner and out of sight.

Officer Clark checked his wound, seeing that it wasn't really that bad, then looked back up just in time to see the succubus leaving. "Damnit!" Clark exclaimed, then looked back over the edge of the building to see what was going on with the monsters there. The ghoul, runners, and rats were still leaving, but the skeletons were not. The ones with ranged weapons were still aiming for Recon and Clark, while the ones armed for melee were trying to get the other monsters to turn back around towards the city unsuccessfully. Clark grabbed his walkie talkie and turned it on to the guard channel. "This is Clark at the Western edge. Uh, you're not gonna believe this, but all the monsters here except the skeletons stopped attacking. Also, I think the succubus might be heading South now" he informed the other guards and whoever else had their radios set to that channel. He glanced at Recon for a moment, the expression on his face suggesting that Clark didn't quite believe it either, despite having just witnessed it.

Meanwhile, over at the jeep, since Red had to climb back in over the driver's side door that couldn't open, Dale and Jim were able to jump on in time. As he gunned it for the wolf that was alone, the wolf stopped and braced itself. When the jeep got close, it quickly leaped sideways out of the jeep's path. It then turned to face the jeep after it passed, and started trying to chase after, but the jeep could move faster than a dire wolf.

Near the South side, Jerry just barely avoided the ball of metal fence, but when he tried to line up the shot on the ghoul again he ran into another problem. More runners had been coming in around the ghoul, and some were going in Jerry's direction, now between him and the ghoul. He could tell through the scope that the ghoul was also advancing in his direction at a quick walking pace, but he couldn't keep a positive bead on it through the runners. His rifle had a good chance of piercing right through them granted, but he couldn't be positive where the shot would hit the ghoul, if it did at all.

While all this was going around closer to the edges of town, Anarchy was busy with her face-off with the werewolf. The arrow she fired hit the werewolf right in the chest, and... Just stuck there, wedged in about an inch. He didn't even respond, just kept moving towards her, his expression becoming even more disturbingly hungry; and not just for food.

Then behind the werewolf, Kirk came running out of the same alley, quickly turning to face the werewolf's back. "Joe you faggot, over here!" Kirk yelled, then opened fire with the uzi, spraying Joe in the back. That got Joe's attention, making him stop his marching and howl as he flailed around, trying futilely to stop the automatic fire. The uzi clicked empty about a second later, and Kirk hurriedly tried to reload, dropping the empty mag, grabbing the full one from his pocket, then getting picked up by Joe and hurled into the nearby brick wall. As Kirk slammed into the wall and bounced off to the ground with a thud, Joe went about scratching at his back to get most of the bullets out, as if he were just scratching for fleas. Then he turned his attention back to Anarchy and started to advance again, expression returning to that same unsettling hunger.

With a groan, Kirk managed to lift himself up on one arm, seeing Joe was moving away from him and glanced to where he was going instead. Kirk stared at Anarchy, a moment of realization followed quickly by this strange expression of resolution, before he hollered out at her, "run, damnit! Run like you did after stabbing me!" Then he drew his pistol and aimed it at Joe. "And you! Don't you turn your back on me!" Kirk screamed, and started firing with the pistol. Joe stopped and howled again, this time more in rage at the interruption; his expression turned to pure murder, and he wheeled around to roar at Kirk.

"That's it come on! Come and fight me mother fucker!" Kirk taunted, still firing. "Think you got what it takes to really-" he was interrupted by Joe leaping forth and slamming down on top of him. Screaming followed as Joe proceeded to start mauling, biting, and tearing at Kirk ferociously, with blood going all over. With Joe focused on that, now was Anarchy's chance to take action; the smart choice would probably be escaping or calling for help.

Recon didn't quite believe what had just happened. But he was the last guy to look a gift horse in the mouth.

"Now that's what I call karma," he muttered to himself under his breath before turning to Clark.

"Here's a freaking idea, why don't you aim at the things that pose actual threats instead of someone that may or may not have saved our backsides?" Recon pulled out the blue magazine and swapped it with a regular one. Turns out he didn't need it after all.

He ducked and rolled again, this time firing from the shoulder instead of the hip. Human skull vs. shotgun pellets was a one-sided affair at best, and he was using full advantage of both the accuracy and spread of the Pancor to aim exclusively for headshots on the ranged skeletons.

Jerry, fired his Savage at the runner that was closest to him. Then switched to his M4 and aimed for the heads of the runners getting close, then tapped the talk button on his radio, "Red goddamnit, need back up! South gate!" He fired at another runner, "Where is that damn werewolf? Get me to it and I'll kill it." He said through his radio. Then he half jogged backwards to get away from the runners.

"A demon saving us? You know it's probably just a trick, right?" Officer Clark asked Recon genuinely, having a hard time understanding Recon's position of not immediately assuming the demon to be evil.

Nevertheless, he prepared his rifle to fire on the skeletons. Now that Recon had the right idea, he started making quick work of the ranged skeletons. The first shot shattered the skull of the crossbow wielding skeleton, and the second destroyed the right half of the nailgun wielder's skull. Now the only skeleton still holding a ranged weapon only had one of the two necessary arms to use it. It and the melee skeletons, now seeing that attempting to turn around the other monsters was fruitless, started moving towards the barricade. There was eight of them in all, when including the one-armed archer. That was, until Clark picked the skull off of the one closest to the barricade with his hunting rifle.

"I think we can actually hold this now" Clark said, taking a quick stock of the remaining enemies. "Might need a hand with just a few of these" he added after looking them over. Of the six remaining that weren't the one-handed archer, three were in various states of armor, (all chainmail base, strangely enough.) though only one of the three had anything protecting its head. One of the others had a steel shield, which it was holding up to protect itself from Clark and Recon as it moved forward in a crouch, almost fully protected. The last two had no armor of any sort. (And neither did the archer.)

Over at the jeep, the dire wolf that was closest was falling behind a good thirty feet and rising. As they started to head North, they'd finally see that like the other two sides under attack, one of the barricades near the gate was being torn down by a ghoul while runners tried to get through; it was nearly through now when Jerry's transmission came through. (Still choppy on the jeep's radio.)

Speaking of Jerry, his shot with the savage hit the closest runner right in the chest, taking a moderate chunk out of its back right where its heart was. As that runner slammed dead into the pavement, more kept coming, but his M4 started to make quick work of them. One down, then another, removing the ones that were becoming of immediate concern. Jogging backwards started helping a bit to keep distance, but a runner in full sprint was much faster than Jerry's backwards jog. Two more runners definitely spotted him and started going right for him, while three behind them were running down his general direction in the street and would likely spot him. Behind those was the ghoul, still advancing menacingly.

Somewhere even farther back, though Jerry only caught brief glimpses around all the runners, a few skeletons had started to come through the barricade along with the runners. Somewhere off to Jerry's right, from behind another building, came the sound of some woman yelling... No, two women? It sounded like they were yelling the same thing at pretty much the same time, but he couldn't make out what it was.

Meanwhile, back near the motel, Joe didn't react to Anarchy's sudden charge until the stab hit, the blade sticking in a couple inches and stopping there. He gave a minor yelp, and looked over his shoulder at her, growling angrily. Once he saw it was Anarchy though, the growl lowered, and that unsettling expression returned to his wolf face. Before Anarchy could react, one large, clawed, furred hand shot out and wrapped around her neck entirely. Holding her there, Joe looked back and grabbed the blade with his other hand, pulling it out and tossing it to one side dismissively.

Then he turned back to Anarchy, standing up to his full height and lifting her off the ground easily to take a closer look. He sniffed her, then started looking over the rest of her body, like he was trying to decide on something.

"Is it a trick that those things are moving away from us?" Recon asked. "Where I come from, the demons ain't much better than the humans, so I don't shoot them on sight the same reason I don't shoot you on sight."

Upon seeing the shield skeleton, he almost burst out laughing. "What the actual fuck does it think that's gonna do?" he asked nobody in particular, before he pulled out and leeked his pistol. Bullets vs. solid steel tended not to go too well for the steel, or for anything behind it.

Firing a short burst at where he estimated the head of the shield guy would be, he holstered his pistol again and started picking off the other skeletons with his shotgun. He debated getting down to the ground, but decided against it.

Jerry shot at the runner that was sprinting his way than swapped mags and shot at the other 2 that had seen him, then heard 2 voices speaking simultaneously, he thought what it could be for a second and then remembered yesterday when that succubus was messing with Shevon, she laughed. And her voice echoed itself. She was yelling something, but what? He had no time to think more on it. He had runners to deal with. He shot to more runners that were headed his way.

"Where I come from, the demons ain't much better than the humans, so I don't shoot them on sight the same reason I don't shoot you on sight."

"Gee, thanks" Clark muttered sarcastically, not liking being considered on the same level as demons.

When Recon nearly started laughing and asked about what the skeleton hoped to do with the shield, Clark glanced over with a raised eyebrow and watched Recon start shooting at it. There was loud pinging of metal hitting metal very fast, visible scuff marks on the shield where he started hitting it and... That was about it. The skeleton kept on moving, completely undeterred. "That, apparently" Clark answered Recon's question, then went back to aiming for the other skeletons.

Between the two of them, they started picking off all the other skeletons fairly quickly. Clark shot the one with the chain mail over its head, while Recon quickly got two of them with his shotgun. Clark then hit another one, followed by two more for Recon again. This finally left only the shield skeleton, who stopped momentarily over the bones of one of its dead comrades to switch the dagger it had for the falchion its comrade had previously wielded.

"So, got any bright ideas for this last one?" Clark asked Recon, aiming in preparation to hit it if he got the opportunity. "You give me an opening, and I could get it" he suggested.

Meanwhile over at the jeep, the dire wolf stopped and quickly scrambled sideways as Dale started shooting; he got a few hits on it, but that didn't put it down yet. It went for cover in an alley, while farther down the street the other two kept on running towards the jeep. Then from an alley near them, two more emerged and quickly joined them.

Behind Dale, Red's assault up to the barricade started alright, with his axe hit putting one of the runners down for the count. More started reaching for him, not quite able to climb over the barricade yet due to the smart way Shevon had the barricades set up; one of the ones that came close was promptly shot dead by Jim.

The real problem arose when the ghoul reached up at Red, making a grab for the axe; if it got a hold of it, there was no doubt it could get it out of Red's grip through brute strength.

Near the South side, Jerry managed to kill the first runner, then after his reload kill one of the other two and made the other trip from the hit, but it started getting back up. Behind them, the ghoul had marched itself up to a street sign, and started tearing it out of the ground. It had just gotten it out and started lifting it above its head, presumably to throw at Jerry, when the succubus emerged from around the far corner of the nearby building, almost right next to the ghoul. One hand was clutching at one of the bullet wounds in her side, the other was holding her revolver down at her side.

"Stop! I said, stop!" the succubus yelled at it, then stopped for a moment to cough. All of the runners on the street, as well as the ghoul, stopped. They all looked over at her, some just turning heads while others turned completely. "Get out of here, leave!" she continued between coughs, pointing over at the barricade as she looked around at them all. Her gaze reached Jerry and she stopped, looking reminiscent of a deer caught in headlights as the ghoul and runners started to turn and walk back towards the barricade.

Over by the barricade, runners that hadn't heard her were still pouring in, while the two skeletons that had entered were looking at the monsters who were now leaving; for people that had no faces to express with whatsoever, they still managed to look surprised and confused. They both spotted the succubus, glanced at each other, then back towards her. One of them, sporting leather armor studded with spikes and a wooden bat with tons of nails driven through it, started marching forward. The other had only a single metal pauldron on one shoulder, and had a crossbow with some custom additions; there seemed to be a lighter attached to the underside of the front of the crossbow, and upon close inspection, the bolt inside was wrapped in a small rag. It raised the crossbow, aiming at... The succubus? The demonette didn't notice, still focused entirely on Jerry.

Back near the center of town, Joe growled in pain and anger as Anarchy slashed at his forearm; the blade didn't actually do much, simply not piercing through the flesh as well as it would against a normal animal. But it did draw blood, and made Joe let go in the sudden surprise of it. Anarchy was dropped onto the sidewalk from a foot off the ground, which normally wouldn't be a problem... But one of her legs was still broken and in a splint.

Whatever happened to Anarchy when she landed, Joe went about quickly inspecting his arm. After he realized he damage wasn't actually that bad, he refocused on Anarchy, arms at the ready to reach out and strike or grab at her.

"Shit shit shit shit shit!" Dale said - Red getting out meant that they were no longer moving... and now all the wolves were catching up. He had been hoping to save this thing for the ghouls - or the succubus - and it felt like such a waste to use it on wolves, but it sure beat certain death.

He pulled the trigger on the closest of the four wolves, and swept the barrel back and forth horizontally across the pack.

"Hah, don't take it personally, I ain't no different." Recon looked over at the skeleton. Then he simply just vaulted over the barricade.

Using the shock absorbers on his knees to make the landing softer, he rolled and holstered his Pancor, replacing it with his quad-barrel.

"Alright, but if you hit me, I swear to God I'll haunt you from the grave!" Recon said, then slowly stalked up to the last skeleton.
