Recon's grip seizing around his Pancor gun, his adrenal gland finally kicked in as the physical pain tripped the survival instinct.
Nearly leaping to his feet, he fired the Pancor at the squirming hellhound and imp. He could read the backs of the shells as they popped out of the gun.
He turned and ran, trying to keep ahead of the spiders. He motioned for Max to keep going, praying to whatever god might be listening that he could maybe get to safety.
He heard the screams, and his heart droped to his gut. If there was one thing he didn't want, it was civilian casualties.
Somehow pushing himself even harder, he holstered his Pancor and drew his pistols, turning his head back periodically and firing shots at whatever hostile monster was chasing him. Not the best accuracy, but if anything got close enough it wouldn't matter. All the while he kept running for the wall.

Molly attempted to growl at Dusk to help the other hunters before running. towards Recon, attempting to help him, and protect him from the spiders, which he was running from.
Pyro drew his Pistol, listening to the two men bicker as they fired, he took aim, aiming for headshots before shooting at any spiders, he turned to Gil, gesturing at the ladder. "Up you go!"

Good to be backRecon's first shot after getting up got the hellhound in the neck, exploding its body into dust under the imp, which took off into the air with startled, angry barks before Recon's second shot took it out. Holding still long enough to get those shots off didn't help Recon against the swarm of spiders, who started catching and jumping onto his legs as he started running. The mere motion of his legs was throwing most of them off and keeping him from getting caught entirely, but it was slowing him down; something which a particularly fast adult spider was trying to take advantage of behind him. Turning his pistols back that way and opening fire wasn't getting it, just clipping and killing the occasional young spider; between firing them one handed, literally running the opposite direction, and having smaller spiders jumping on him, his accuracy against the adult spider in question was shot to hell.
While the above paragraph was happening, Anarchy was trying to get a growl out to Dusk to help the hunters; the werewolf not wanting to again brought her to an internal standstill, and she just had to abandon that for now. She focused in on Recon and thought about how she wanted to go to him, and she took off, sprinting his direction. There was a slight problem though, as rather than intending to help him, the werewolf was going to kill him. This couldn't be, she had feelings for him didn't she? She couldn't want to kill him, she wanted to TEAR HIM IN HALF!
Only by thinking that she'd have to secure the kill for herself first at the last moment did she prevent it; Anarchy's werewolf form went flying just past Recon in a leap, not even bothering to extend claws at the giant spider. Instead she just landed on it, squishing it to death even as she braced and whirled around to face Recon. Her eyes red, she roared in fury towards Recon, signaling to Dusk and Gray one simple message. This one, Recon, was her kill. As such, Dusk, who had been following Anarchy, steered clear of Recon, knowing that doing anything to him, hostile or friendly, would incur the wrath of a werewolf. Internally, Anarchy knew she was about to charge after Recon with intent to kill him; and other than shape-shifting back to Human form, in the middle of the swarm of spiders, she didn't know if she could stop herself.
Meanwhile, in the jeep, Max's turn forced the hellhound to the side, catching the edge of the windshield frame with its gut, and leaving some blood on the broken glass still there. Though it put the demon in an awkward position, with its back legs now hanging off the side, it did not throw the hellhound off. It growled at Max, bracing its back legs against the side and pushing itself back in far enough to try to bite Red again. And it was interrupted, again, as an angry, screaming (and topless) succubus Lisa slammed into its back, feet-turned-talons first. As the hellhound howled in pain and surprise, Lisa pressed the barrel of her shotgun against the top of its head and fired, spraying Red with demon dust.
After re-landing on the hood with a jolt since her landing spot suddenly became dust, Lisa turned to Max. "Sorry I'm late, one of those vampire hunting guys showed up" Lisa said as Gray had hopped into the back of the jeep since they'd turned around. Easy enough to ignore, it was one of Anarchy's wolves after all; Lisa turned around, looking towards Recon and Anarchy, probably trying to think of what to do n- Gray's jaws clamped down hard on Max's right shoulder, and she immediately started both thrashing back and forth and pulling back, trying to drag Max out of the driver's seat. Her bite was strong enough that she'd probably start breaking his bones in moments if she wasn't stopped. Lisa turned back in surprise, and yelled at the dire wolf to stop; Gray ignored her. Seeing little alternative, Lisa raised up her shotgun, taking aim at Gray.
Anarchy did see this, opening up a possible alternative to attacking Recon because that demonic whore was about to shoot one of her pack!
With one burst from Gil's rifle, the remaining large spider stumbled back, bleeding and screeching. A second burst put it down for the count, as to his side, a single shot from Pyro's 1911 killed the smaller one with a shot to the face. There didn't seem to be any more spiders attacking them now, but they could see that more spiders were climbing other buildings down both directions of the town's Western edge, going after the defenders they could hear yelling and shooting up there.
Going up there himself, following the small spider as it disappeared over the edge of the roof, Earl would see there was two defenders up on the roof here. Both appeared to be wearing brown police highway patrol uniforms, and both seemed to be actively wrestling against a giant spider. One of them was still standing, the spider on him one of the relatively small ones, clutching onto his chest and trying to bite at his neck; the other man was actually on the ground, pinned below one of the large ones and just trying to keep it away by pushing against it with his shotgun. There was also the spider Earl had followed up there, which was moving towards the standing officer, preparing to join its brethren.
Doing one shot for each, Earl killed both of the small ones, and got the larger one to flinch and screech in pain, gaining the officer the opportunity to push it away and try to scramble backwards out from under it.

You are reading this.Recon was too far gone, eyes glazed over. He didn't shoot at Anarcy, more concerned with the spiders on his feet.
He began to sporadically jump and violently kick his legs while in mid-air, trying to throw the spiders off. He never once broke the pace of his run, or looked back until Anarchy demanded it.
The roar got his attention. He was briefly confused, but he was ready anyway. A leaping werewolf wasn't easy to dodge, but he knew how to do it. Shooting her or fighting back didn't even cross his mind.

Da Jeep
Max almost chuckled about how much things had changed in just a few days, as a succubus and dire wolf jumped into the jeep and instead of panicking and shooting at them, they didn't even merit a blink of the eye. Well, technically he wasn't blinking since he was glancing over at Lisa as much as he could. But the point still stood. Until the moment said dire wolf clamped its jaws on his shoulder and he let out a loud grunt.
Max took his left hand off of the steering wheel and grabbed his holstered hand axe, and he took his right hand off of the wheel and let it drop down a bit because a giant-ass dire wolf was biting into his shoulder, and that kinda hurt. His foot slammed on the accelerator as he stopped focusing on what his feet were doing, instead braced himself as he focused on the giant-ass dire wolf that was biting into his shoulder.
"GOD DAMN IT I KNEW SHE WAS FUCKED IN THE HEAD!" Max yelled as he tried to hit the wolf with his hand axe. "RECON, GET BACK!"
In Town
Shay looked up as everyone started bickering, waiting for everyone to move up along the ladder. He just caught sight of... wings? More than a little confused, Shay followed Red up the ladder, tucking in his knife as he did so. His main objective was to kill any spiders in the way and then see whatever had the wings, hoping that the height advantage would give him an edge if the winged thing turned out to be an enemy. While he was climbing, Shay, to the U.N.A.M. officials in particular, called out, "Guys, just saw a winged thing come down from somewhere and go behind this building. Could be an angel or could be that succubus that destroyed your whirlybird. Just don't goggle at the succubus."
When he got to the top of the ladder, Shay put both hands on his Glock and double tapped the large spider, before adding another as an afterthought.
If you're reading this you have 5 seconds to...Pyro looked up in the sky. He didn't see the succubus...Eh, no matter. He followed Shay, and when he got to the top, he started to fire at the spiders, turning around to glance at the street, seeing if Gil was in any danger.
Molly wanted to scream! That idiot wasn't shooting! She could kill him! Suddenly, she saw Lisa about to kill Grey, she tired to focus on killing her, knowing that Lisa was at least stronger, she'd also try to make herself throw Recon forward at least away from the spiders.
Good to be backEarl fired one more shot at the large spider and, assuming Shay would finish it, Earl went over to the officer that he had just saved from the smaller spider.
"My name's Earl Harper. I'm with UNAM and I'm here to help. Your welcome for the save by the way." Earl introduced himself to the officer. He then asked what the situation was exactly and if there was a sheriff or mayor he could talk to.

The werewolf quickly interpreted trying to throw Recon away from the spiders and trying to kill Lisa into the same action, and rushed forward to grab the mercenary. Recon was slippery though, and the grip missed his back; it did not, however, miss the part of his trench coat fluttering behind him. Recon was quite abruptly and forcefully yanked back by his coat into Anarchy's grip, the werewolf strength making that almost trivial to do; he was then lifted up off the ground, turned sideways, and thrown forward.
For the second time in less than two minutes, Recon was slammed into an oncoming demon at high (collective) speed, this time hitting Lisa in the side. He actually hit her wing first, but it didn't make a big difference, absorbing the impact between their bodies about as well as a blanket would. They both went right into the back of the jeep, Recon landing pretty much on top of Lisa, albiet perpendicular. Well, at least all the little spiders hadn't been able to hold on during that.
In the front of the jeep, Max was able to swing his axe up and into Gray's shoulder. The dire wolf released him and howled in pain, at which point Lisa, who had managed to sort of sit up, grabbed the wolf's rear right hip and pulled back, claws digging in. Lisa wasn't strong enough to actually pull Gray back against the dire wolf's strength, but it made Gray howl in more pain. Now at least Max would be able to refocus on where he was going and- was that the werewolf?
Anarchy was unable to stop the werewolf; it had just taken care of the demon attacking its pack member, but some stupid, weak, prey had attacked the pack member, and was now the closer recipient of her wrath. Anarchy landed on the hood of the jeep after a leap, one of her legs catching a bit of the barb wire, but she didn't care; the hood buckled in under the impact and weight, and the engine stopped. Whether it had just stalled or was now broken wasn't clear yet. Anarchy's left hand had come down on the windshield frame, bending the middle of that down all the way to the dashboard. Her right hand went right over it, grabbed Max by digging claws into the front of his shirt and chest, and lifted him out of the seat. Trying to keep the dire wolf from pulling him out had already been hard enough; stopping the werewolf just wasn't happening. She then roared angrily right in his face.
Lisa noticed this, and yelled out. "Anarchy! Stop! Transform, now!" And there was that feeling again, stronger this time... It was the werewolf, the werewolf was the part of her that had been wanting to follow Lisa and Mephistos' orders. Now that the werewolf was actually somewhat dominant while in this form, it had a much bigger say in whether or not Anarchy followed said orders... Unfortunately, it seemed that the werewolf could still decline, as it wanted to now, because Lisa was trying to order it to stop instead of tearing the throat out of this stupid prey that thinks it can fight a member of her pack! Fortunately though, as the topic was brought up, Anarchy would realize that the werewolf had no control over her transformation. Only Anarchy and Molly did.
Now that the jeep was starting to come to a stop, Dusk was running around to the back of the jeep, barking angrily at Lisa since she was still technically clawing Gray. The spiders were starting to close in too, young ones already reaching the front and sides of the jeep; thankfully the barb wire did its job and kept them from climbing up, but eventually they would start coming around to the backside. And that wasn't even getting to the adult ones, which could probably get over the barb wire eventually, though none of them had reached the jeep. Yet.
Earl's follow up shot to the spider weakened it some more, letting Shay and Pyro finish it off. (One of Shay's shots got the final kill.) Its corpse landed on the one officer's legs, not really hurting him but slowing down his process of getting out from under it. The officer Earl went to talk to turned to them, a little surprised. "What, you're with Unanimous? Thank God" the officer said, using the U.N.'s less often used nickname of the times. "Thanks for the help, you wouldn't believe how crazy things are around here; I mean, more than usual. Um, sheriff should be just a few buildings down that way" he added, pointing North along the line of buildings with defenders visible atop them; many were currently busy facing off against spiders of their own that were climbing up to the rooftops after either going around or powering through the barb wire they had on the front and side facings.
Other than the spiders already on the roofs and climbing the sides though, there didn't actually seem to be too many; maybe twenty or thirty at most. The attack wasn't too big or they had already cleared out most of them. There was... A lot of small, not fully grown spiders about to reach the edge of town though, easily a couple hundred at least. Together they could potentially kill people, but with these many defenders stationed like this, they should be able to handle them just fine.
It was about this time that both of the officers' radios suddenly piped up, some woman's voice coming through. "Something's wrong out with the jeep... Oh my God, Anarchy is attacking the other hunters!" the woman said over the defenders' frequency.
"That was the sheriff now- wait, what!?" With that exclamation of confusion, the officer moved over to the West side of the roof edge and looked out across the fields next to the town. Out there they could see a jeep, with a werewolf standing on the hood and lifting the driver out of his seat. There was also more giant spiders out there, another twenty to thirty or so, but they were focused on the jeep. "WHAT THE SHIT?! SHE'S ON OUR SIDE!" the officer yelled, like he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"Clark, do- do you have any silver rounds?" the sheriff asked hesitantly over the frequency, her voice cracking slightly.
"We didn't expect them to have any more werewolves. The caravan took them all with when they left" a Male voice, presumably Clark, responded.
Looking back to Gil, (Whom Desden can say climbed up the ladder too in the meantime since he missed this "round".) Pyro would see the U.N.A.M. soldier was fine, the streets perfectly clear.

You are reading this.Pyro was confused. "Why are you surprised that someone called Anarchy attacked you?" he asked, "It's really all there in the name..." He muttered sarcastically, Glancing at the Werewolf and reloading his handgun. "We should probably deal with the spiders huh?"
Molly forced herself to transform into the human shape, she looked at the hunters in what could only be described as shock and horror, releasing Max, she scrabbled away from them, falling and landing on her back, before she folded into a fetal position, her entire body quivering with choking pitiful sobs, She'd lost control...

Good to be backRecon immediately went to Molly's side, kneeling by her while taking his Pancor and firing as fast as he could into the horde, aiming to the big spiders.
Taking only a few seconds with that, he then tried to grab Molly as best as he could.
"Molly! We gotta get through this! Please!" he begged, trying to get through to her before the big spiders he hadn't shot down came close enough.
If she responded positively, he'd proceed to do his adrenaline-fueled best to carry her into the back, where he hoped she'd be safe.

Up up and away
“You guys need silver rounds out there?” Gil asked the officer, having indeed climbed the ladder after Earl. “I've a clip of silver NATO standard rounds. Where are they needed?”
While he was talking, he reached backwards and unclipped two green, block-like comms devices, each about the size of his palm.
In Town
"Never mind the name, why are you trusting a werewolf in the first place? What kind of fool does that?" Shay asked, raising an eyebrow. "Anyway, I've got a silver magazine I can loan you if you want, I'll just use my sword if the werewolf jumps me." Shay fished out his silver magazine and offered it to the officers.

"Liiiizzzzzzeeee..." Red groaned, trying to say "Lisa" but he couldn't quite spit it out in his weakened condition. He then began violently coughing again - hoping this display would alert Lisa to the fact that he had an injury that needed healing.
Town - Rooftop
"Shit..." Earl muttered at hearing mention of the werewolf. Very rarely did humans working with lycanthropic individuals ever turn out well. He knew that he would never trust one of the furry bastards.
"Maybe we should go to separate rooftops? We could do the most good if we spread out our forces instead of concentrating them in one spot." Earl suggested to Shay, Israel, and Gil.
"And as the higher ranking soldier, you should find this sheriff and talk to her." Earl told Gil specifically. Though Earl did want the rooftop cleared, it wasn't because he felt it would be more strategically sound - at least not fully. Rather, he didn't feel safe with Gil there. The Israeli man was the only one who knew what kind of UNAM recruit Earl really was and, thus, could order him into dangerous positions (as conscripts often were). If Gil was somewhere else, Earl would be free to use any tactics he wanted. Even if said tactics included fleeing the battle scene. And while he certainly didn't want the Israeli to die, it would certainly make his life a lot easier if he did...

Pyro paused, looking at the truck. "Um, hermanos...Where's the werewolf?" He asked, before noticing the flood of Spiders. "There's our problem." He muttered as he climbed down the ladder and started to sprint towards the truck.
Molly was too caught up in a maelstrom of emotions, dead to the world.
Good to be backNear Da Jeep
"Ow..." Max said, lying on his back on the ground, and slowly pulling his rifle in front of him, placing it between him and Molly with the barrel out, just in case something else happened. He tried to assess his injuries - namely, if any of his squishy bits, especially his lungs, had been punctured.
Since Recon only bothered with a few seconds, that meant he only got a few shots; fortunately the 12 guage did its job, each shot downing a spider. In all he killed four. That still left about twenty adult giant spiders rushing for the jeep, but at least now most of them were the relatively small ones; only one of the larger ones, the body about the size of a person, still remained.
Unfortunately for Red, Lisa was currently in no position to help, and if Recon still grabbed Molly and carried her over Red and Max to the back, he'd see why. In the back of the jeep, Gray had turned around and was now pinning Lisa to the floor, biting into the demon's arm as she desperately defended herself. To make matters worse, Dusk had arrived, trying to bite Lisa's neck with chomps that could probably snap bone, forcing her to try and hold him off with her other hand. "MOLLY! CALL OFF YOUR MUTTS BEFORE I HAVE TO KILL THEM!" Lisa screamed, remarkably little desperation in her voice all things considered, especially as the much stronger than her Dusk was steadily inching closer and closer to her neck with each bite...
Around the jeep, the younger spiders continued to swarm, and some were starting to come around to the back where they could climb up without barb wire stopping them. At the front the first of the faster adult spiders reached the jeep; specifically two of them. The first was stopped, trying to figure out how to get up through the barb wire, but the second one already figured it out; by stepping on the bodies of younger spiders still caught up in the barb wire. Carefully it came up and over onto the hood, fangs clicking together as it braced and prepared to leap for a target.
"Well, that was just her nickname, and like I said she was on our side" the officer said, looking out towards the jeep.
"Wait, she just transformed... I have no idea what's going on out there. Can anyone provide them with support fire?" the sheriff said over the officer's radio again. Looking around at the other rooftops, that seemed to be a no as everyone was dealing with the spiders immediately attacking them.
"There, see? We shouldn't need any silver ammo... I think" the officer added, turning and looking at the new arrivals; he gave Shay a confused, raised eyebrow in particular. It was pretty common knowledge that beast and undead monsters were occasionally good, albeit very rarely. (Usually referred to as "half" monsters, but that's technically a misnomer.) But he expected a VHG member in particular to know that, since one of the VHG founders was a good vampire. (See the side stories, post #3 of discussion.
)
The conversation was interrupted by the other officer though, having just removed himself from the dead giant spider. "Guys, spiders?!" he said insistently, moving over to a roof edge and readying his shotgun.
"Oh, right. Here" the first officer muttered, grabbing his own personal radio and taking it off. "Shevon, I've got a few guys from Unanimous and a vampire hunter here. I think one of them wants to talk to you" he told the sheriff through it, then tossed the radio to Gil. After that he turned around and readied his assault rifle, next to the other officer.
"About damn time they showed up... I don't see anything in the air; please tell me they brought some humvees or tanks" the sheriff muttered through the channel.
Meanwhile, if Pyro kept to his plan of going ground level and trying to find a way over towards the jeep, he would come across the Western gate, and see someone there. It was that girl who opened the South gate for them. She was standing at the gate controls and seemed to be arguing with the gnome on her shoulder. Apparently he wanted her to open the gate so he could face off against spiders to protect her; she wasn't sure that was a good idea, hence them arguing about it.

You are reading this.Molly snapped to attention at Lisa's call, she growled at them to stand down or to focus on killing spiders, she extracted herself from Recon's grasp, she then turned to the Hunter. "You have a gun I can use?" She growled.
Pyro just stared at the duo, listening to them argue for a minute before shouting at the girl. "Gate! Open! You can shut it when we're through!"

Red just moaned, closed his eyes, and leaned back. He wasn't quite unconcious but he sure as hell couldn't do anything but sit there and cough.
Rooftop
Earl swore to himself as his little plot fell apart when the officer offered Gil the walkie talkie. Since the two officers had the roof covered for a bit, Earl decided to throw the two smaller spiders' corpses off the edge to clear some room. If they were within range or below him, Earl would toss the corpses on any live spiders that were approaching. If not, he'd just chuck them off the roof wherever.
Rooftop
Gil caught the comm the officer threw at him. “Negative, sheriff,” he said, “two matchsticks; our thorn was downed by a succubus a while back. We'll provide you with whatever help we can, which obviously is quite limited in its scope. Considering our sticks and candies, we are better off staying up here, unless you need support down there, over.IDF procedure words translation ”

Then he unexpectedly grabbed her shoulder, squeezing it while looking at her dead in the eyes.
"And stay with me. Alright?"

Putting his silver magazine away, Shay told the officer with the raised eyebrow, "Wait, you don't seriously expect a half-werewolf to approach you instead of U.N.A.M.? I mean sure it might want to help while untransformed but it's sorta obvious that once it transforms it's a monster. It being half while a werewolf is more than unlikely."
Shaking his head, Shay saw what Earl was doing and followed suit, rolling up his sleeves and dragging the larger spider by two of it's legs and began the process of dragging it to teh edge of the rooftop, following the same procedure as Earl.

"I'm not a rookie, asshole!" Earl shouted back before climbing up the closest building's ladder -which was a bit harder to do than normal seeing as he had to hold his M16 one handed. If he got up to the top, he'd fire one shot at any spiders he could see to conserve some ammo.

Red - who was now starting to feel agitated in addition to clammy and faint- saw the monstorous canine on the hood of the jeep. He couldn't even tell if it was a hellhound, dire wolf, or just a regular dog. He brought his hands up weakly to protect his head and throat but that was all he could do for now.
"Brake..." he said feebly to Max, though it was up to the fireman to interpret that order.
