...I really can't tell if Buttercream is adorable or just plain creepy...
There is going to be a Season 2 - this does please me, but only because hopefully that means this show continues to improve from here on. I can eaily say it has more than hit its stride since its otherwise rough start.
In short, it's good that Friendship Is Magic isn't the only show putting butts in seats right now for this channel...

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Buttercream is like Zero III's hyperactive little sister with her Trickster Mode switch jammed in the "on" position. If Monobear tried to pull the same crap on Buttercream that he did to Usami, I do believe Buttercream would destroy him through sheer intensity.
...also am I the only one who couldn't help but think she was getting off when people say "what" around her?

Yeah, that thought was actually crossing my mind, too.
It's like the "Who's on First?" joke, only instead it would go, "What's Your Fetish?":
"What's your fetish?"
"Yes!"
"What?"
"Yes!"
"Yes what?"
"Yes!"
"What are you trying to say?"
"Oh yes!"
"Why?!"
"Because you keep saying that word!"
"What word?!"
"YES!"
"I'm not saying 'yes'!"
"It's not 'yes'!"
"Then what is it?"
"YES!!"
"You just said it wasn't!"
"It isn't!"
"Then what are we talking about?!"
>Insert montage of rockets taking off, bombs blowing up, etc.

lol every episode featuring Penny is showing she is no expy of Fluttershy.
listing review
- The oddity with "Sweet Truck Ride" is the suddenly sprinkled covered cat, who was amusing, but she wasn't that helpful pfft.
- I believe Russel is a 'smart / sane type' of character, but just ignorant beyond the pet shop. He can be just as goofy as the rest of the cast.
- The father daughter relationship is nicely done for this show.

Yeah, nominating Buttercream for "recurring character." Having her in every episode from here on out would be a little...extreme. But it'd be fun to have her back from time to time.
I'd say Sugar Sprinkles, too, but the problem is she's more of a (hilarious) prop than a character.
I gotta admit, I've been enjoying LPS more than this past season of MLP. Wasn't sure what to make of the pilot, but everything after that has been gold. It's...pretty clear the writers are deliberately aiming for the periphery demographic with this one. (For one thing, how many people who'd buy the toys would appreciate a Star Trek: TOS joke, complete with bad Shatner impressions?)
My Real concern at this point is just how long they can keep up that momentum without falling victim to something similar to the Bronies thing... Or worse, unnecssary executive mandating that's unfortunately hurting Friendship Is Magic right now (despite people thinking otherwise).
Then again, the show is NOT that good/popular enough to truly become a victim of that, yet. It should continue to do well if things stay the way they are going so far. To be fair, maybe that's for the best - I want this show to be good at just what it's doing that other shows of its kind/genre that aren't Regular Show, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and of course Friendship Is Magic, haven't been all that successful at doing... reeling the viewer in with its (decent to strong enough sense of)comedy and character development.

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Meh, any large fanbase means a large number of idiots and trolls. But it also means more decent folk who you can have a nice discussion with. And it's easy enough to ignore the unpleasant ones. They tend to stick to their own little holes.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...I have a question. Is Buttercream really a Base Breaker? less redundant question: is Sugar Sprinkles's stoner portrayal part of the "Sugar is a drug" Writer Revolt i found on the trivia page?

I thought about extending the Writer Revolt bit to Sweet Truck episode, but figured that was pushing it too far. Although, if you want to read the episode that way, the funniest bit is that Russel had the most fun pretending the truck was the Enterprise. It's basically telling kids that the only way to enjoy the Sweet Truck playset is to imagine it's an entirely different toy.
I haven't really been following this series, but while searching pony song remixes I found out about the time Zoe sings with a rock band
... and all I could think of is there exists a heavy metal band with two dogs as lead singers
. Also one with a bird
.
And that's all I've got to say about that!
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!The more I watch this show, the more I wonder who the writers think they're writing for. XD
Thus far I've liked it way more than the last season of MLP. My only gripe is that the pets feel more like props in a few eps, but it's not a major issue.
Also, Russell paraphrasing The Elephant Man in that last ep is actually kinda funny when you realize that his VA was also Tieria Erde.

Blythe went from sounding like Rainbow Dash to applejack in a snap in this episode. Well, thats Ashleigh bell in a nutshell for ya
.
And regarding on the last episode, I'm a little surprised that they managed to get away with that cake joke. You'd think the parents would be a little concerned about the red jelly spewing out of the cake

Eh, people try to match up character of one series they like with characters of another series they like all the time. Sure, it may seem a bit forced in some cases, but nothing to make a fuss over, I don't think.
I like that even though we only have thirteen episodes so far, they manage to portray the pets with distinct personalities without being overly stereotypical about it.
The songs, though... some of them are good, but some of them just feel embarrassingly cheesy.
Any chance this series is getting a season 2?
