Dark Willow has five abilities. Is one of them an inherent ability she always has, or is one of them linked to another ability?

[up] The latter; Dark Willow has essentially two ultimates that are both leveled at once and can't be used at the same time: the first being "Bedlam", where her wisp circles around her and attacks any individual enemy near Dark Willow, and "Terrorize" is an Ao E that "fears" all enemy heroes in the circle, making them run to their fountain

It's out on the main client now, before November 1.

We got reverse Valve timed!

Damn, the new patch has made jungling extremely unfeasible now. On the other hand, I'm digging the new talents. Them being more focused towards each hero's abilities is a nice update.

I only ever managed to jungle with two heroes. Axe and Ursa, I think.

Is this the standard now? "New hero, please TALK to everyone"...

Makes me wish they do that on Sven....

[up] Back then, most heroes were voiced by a number of the same actors, so they had to distribute response lines across multiple heroes. Valve wants to avoid doing that it seems, so the new heroes are getting as many response lines as possible.

Pangolier's responses. Fun fact, he's voiced by Phil Lamarr (I knew it!), aka Samurai Jack.

Also, this Sorla Khan is mentioned multiple times across Dark Willow's and Pangolier's responses. New hero?

.... This teasing about Jug-TA gets me even more curious...

[up]Oh yeah. It's also impossible to get back and re-voice the old characters, since... you know. One of the old actors died (PL's)

Dark Willow's and Pangolier's lines to Anti-Mage and Silencer suggests they're bros now. Stoic fun hating bros.

All that's left is for some future new hero to mention that Omniknight is hanging out with Anti-Mage and Silencer or something along the lines of that, and the "Fuck Magic!" Trio is canon.

Also Dark Willow is implying that Lina is being Tsundere on CM, secretly wanting to apologize to her.

You know what, what would make this complete is for a new hero to take a hint about CM 'dating' Sven.

So much apparent lore in the Dota 2 universe, yet we see so little of it. Valve should do a series of webcomics for Dota 2 so we can see, say, Juggernaut and Templar's alegged relationship, this Sorla Khan, Pangolier's beef with Leshrac, or what the heck happened in Roseleaf that Tresdin did [lol] They do them for Team Fortress 2 and have done it for Portal 2, why not Dota 2?

Pretty nice.

How do y'all feel about smaller patches every fortnight? I take this to mean we won't be seeing a new hero in the next 6 months at the very least. Considering that we just got two of them, I feel like that's reasonable.

Actually, details about a hero in development has been leaked. We don't know anything about them except that their internal name is Mars and they might be Sparta themed.

I assumed one would be in development, just that it wouldn't come out in the next 6 months. Cool.

The six month ban must have worked, because I am seeing people on r/dota2 saying that the quality of the games has gone up and that toxicity has generally decreased.

Can you explain this 6 month ban thing with Dota?

[up] It's in the Spring Cleaning update. It says "As part of this update, we are now automatically issuing 6 month matchmaking bans for players that show an extreme frequency of negative behavior (feeding, abandoning, player abuse, etc)."

New Gameplay Update

  • Courier cost reduced from 200 to 50
  • Starting gold is reduced from 625 to 600
  • Tangoes now come with 3 charges and cost 90 gold
  • Initial bounty rune now gives +40 gold to all heroes instead of 100 to the hero that picks it up (those bounty runes look slightly different)
  • Killing a neutral camp stack now gives a bonus 15% gold bounty to the hero that stacked it. No bonus is given if the stack is cleared by an enemy or the hero that stacked it. (New audio is now played once a stack is successful. Stacked neutrals have a buff with the stacker's hero icon on it)
