The fake Yeoman rolled her eyes at Fabius obvious exasperation, a tad upset that she couldn't show off properly. Still, she faithfully guides them through the maze of corridors under the ship, until they reach a wooden door which has carved a medical cross on it "Here there be the infirmary"
Inside there was a rather big room... surprisingly big for a ship, even one as big as the Dawnchaser. The first room was obviously for the sick and wounded to be tended to and rest. It has room for and houses over a wooden dozen beds, which had a mechanism so they could easily be moved around. On one wall there were ample cabinets, doubtlessly full of the basic supplies needed for the medics to do their work. Still, if they looked a bit closer, while most basics and specialty medicine were available, the collection was far from complete. At the end of the room there were five more doors, which the Yeoman explained were a deposit, two offices for the two medical staff, a sterile operating room and a wash room.
Jeina then leads the Engineers quite deep into the ship, down into a single corridor lined with brass pipes spreading all through the ship. At the end of it, there is a reinforced steel door, which Jeina opens by tracing a specific pattern over it.
Inside there is a room lined by both brass and wood, spreading in the shape of a control room. There are panels lining all sides of the room, full of meters, levers, buttons, pipes and the sort. And right beyond that... at the middle of the wall opposite to the door there is a big glass window which looks upon the core of the ship.
Beyond the glass, in a room of it's own is a hollow sphere of golden metal, around five meters in diameter and with smaller holes doting it all around, from which flames and a bright light shoot out at all times.
"Here is the Core of the ship... what bring life to the Dawnchaser"
Pax would soon feel himself pulled by the rope he held, as the Dawnchaser moved at breakneck speed towards the pirate Galleon.
"Brace yourselves!" calls the dark haired man of the interviews... just before their ship crashes hard into the pirate's... Breaking the enemy ship neatly in half. The crash could be felt all around the Dawnchaser, and surely a lot of people might lose their footing... but at the end of it, the Galleon was no more and miraculously, there was not even a scratch on the bow of the mighty red and gold ship.
"Incoming Mr Hyoth! Vessels all around us! The small ones coming in fast! Two big ones lining their shots to the South, at the East a medium one is coming with intent to board us! The last one is taking its distance! Mr Hyoth, the wheel is yours! Choose which enemy to engage and take measures to accomplish it!" yells the Captain at the Helmsman. They would need to line their shots soon if they are to use the cannons and their fighters were getting antsy... They might need to do a boarding of their own soon.
As for the Riders... they would soon see what their enemies were. Two men, one on a big giant eagle, carrying quite a bit of baggage on him and the other one ridding a gigantic dragonfly... a creature most quick and with a treacherous maneuverability in the air.
The dragonfly Rider promptly moved closer to Mazz, leveling a nasty great bow in their direction. Meanwhile, the Eagle Rider made a straight line towards the proud Dawnchaser.
"Ow- Shit- Dammit - GRAAAH!" Dax kept swearing as he was forcefully pulled into the debris from the destroyed ship. He put both hands and his trunk on the rope and held on tight.
"Fancy," Dr. Fabius said, whistling. "Which mine of these?" he asked as he tried to open one of the office doors and look around.
Sylph began peeking through the medicine cabinets eagerly. "Hmmm, looks like you have most of the basics at least. But there's no oils!" she said in an almost pouty tone.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialSamsara
The lizard girl did as instructed as she gripped the harnesses for dear life. Wait, the thing grabbed her! Ah, wait, she's back on the deck. "Phew... THANK YOU MR.CAT!" she had waved to the one called Guy as he left her there.
Not again..., just then the large water vessel began to shake. It was, of course, from the impact with the pirate Galleon. It had been neatly sliced in twain, which was a victory for them, yes, but Samsara was quickly getting sick of this.
I need to find a place to hide!, Samsara ran around on the deck of the ship before she opened the first door she could find. The gloves came off; Samsara placed both hands upon the wall then climbed up. One, two, three, now she was one with the ceiling. The lizard also through her boots off, further increasing her chances of not slipping off of her comfort spot.
Okay then, I just wait now!
Wallace had been working too hard to take much, if any, notice of the tricks that the Dawnchaser was employing to keep one step ahead of its' nefarious foes. In fact, the first - and only - indication he got that the ship didn't merely look impressive was when it decided to cleave neatly through another ship, logic and reality be damned. The werewolf fell flat on his backside and bit back a curse, scrambling on to his feet and getting into position once more. He was here to do a job, damn it, and he wouldn't let anything as minor as a ship flatly doing the impossible hinder him.
Locking you up on radar since '09— Mazz & Huntress —
Mazz tugged Huntress' harness to the right, Huntress responding with a quick barrel roll in that direction, wings still tucked for maximum speed, now aiming the pair not at the dragonfly, but on a collision course with the eagle, trusting that the combination of the dive-speed and the angle of the sun to avoid the incoming arrow. Considering the speed that the two had already accumulated from the dive, such a shot would be like hitting a rock thrown off of a cliff, while looking upwards on a sunny day.
At the last second, Huntress would unfold her wings and use her paws and claws to grapple with the eagle, attempting to position herself to use her saber-teeth to perform a lethal neck-bite that would likely sever or at least cut open the eagle's jugular or windpipe. Mazz meanwhile would be swatting at the human rider with his gunlance, in order to keep him pinned down while the eagle was killed. At least that was the plan.

Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime list"Gah!" Piers had no time for things like balance, he was too busy trying to stand up. He'd begun pacing before, eager for the chance to board the galleon, but that clearly wasn't going to happen now. He rolled himself back onto his feet from the floor, with a certain nimbleness uncharacteristic of a man his size.
"Imma get ready in the mean time." he mumbled to himself. He went over to one of the powder-bags next to the cannon, opened a small hatch in his mechanical arm located at the bottom of the forearm, hand began emptying one of the bags into it.
To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by.Rin looked around at the engine with awe and admiration plain on her face. It was all so sophisticated! She had worked on machines double this size before, but they had been crude, heavy things meant for mining and refining. This...it was cutting edge. She stopped in front of the glass to watch the Core.
"I can't believe I'm getting the chance to work with this..."
Then, she almost fell as the ship rocked.
"W-what was that? A hit?"
In the sky, Johannes was having problems staying out of trouble. He wasn't as adapted for battle as the other two fliers, and mostly zipped around trying to get an overview of the situation so that he could scout things out for the ones back at the Dawnchaser. Once he'd memorized it, he flew back to hover close to the ship.
"Captain! There are two small ones, two a bit bigger with a lot of people ready to attack and two ships with a lots of cannons!"
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! The Wyvern was... successfully dealing with the Eagle, most likely carrying a bomb of some sort. Good man, focusing down the biggest threat to the ship with maximum disabling capacity, not afraid to grapple in midair. He nodded in approval and instead charged the dragonfly, lance at the ready; he didn't need to kill or even hit the other Rider, but he did need to keep them distracted and keep the dragonfly from peeling the wyvern off its target. Guy gave the thumbs-up to his friendly Rider before Patches launched at the massive bug, claws extended like the lion half was taking over in midair.
With the Dawnchaser crashing into the Galleon, Violet was about to trip and used the Wyvern still on-board to support her. She commanded the creature to stay on board, it would allow the creature to more easily ambush. Still, the chef had a feeling that soon, there will be people boarding the ship and she was not exactly skilled at close combat. She unsummoned her wyvern, the beast disappearing in the shadows, for it to be replaced by two creatures similar to tigers.
The crashing did not cause Benjamin to fall, this gunner was steady on his feet. However, it did cause some of the cannonballs to roll a bit stray, one rolling onto his tail. Ben grabbed his tail from the pain for a short bit but soon focused back on making sure his ammunition was near his gun, catching the balls and putting them near the cannon then waiting for his next orders.

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree."Oil, yes. We got some massaging oil. Oils, specialty ones with diverse effects and scents no. There were none on the markets of our last port. You'll have to make do until we touch another port... then you can look for what you need on their markets" replies the Yeoman.
Fabius would find that the two offices were mirrors of the other. They were both the last door on either extreme of the wall, with the bathroom right in the middle. To the right of the bathroom was the operation room, to the left of it the storage. Inside, the office was made of warm brown wood, sparsely decorated. They had big desks in the middle of the room, with a leather backed chair behind it and some simpler wooden ones before it.
To one corner of the room, hidden behind a short wooden division lay a bed. There was another, simpler writing desk to one side, lots of cabinets, a semi empty bookshelf with some general medicine books and the sort. The intent of the room was obvious, to give a frame work upon which the occupant may make the room their own.
"Indeed, we appear to have rammed into the enemy" says the Yeoman as she touches a few gemstones set in a table right in the middle of the room. Soon enough, an illusion of the whole ship appeared over the table, with a few rectangular illusionary screens showing what could be seen in front, back and to the sides of the ship. They could see, in the illusion miniature how some sort of blue energy gathered at the front of the ship, now dispersing itself after the ramming.
"Yes, the barrier seems to be working well" Notes the Yeoman as he touches with the tip of her fingers the screens, moving them to show both Engineers the image behind the Dawnchaser and the wreck of the enemy Galleon.
The man in the firefly tries to move to intercept Huntress' dive, but his attention is soon taken entirely by a certain cybernetic Gryphon.
The eagle was too burdened by her load to properly avoid the wyvern's attack. The eagle cries hard in pain for a second before her windpipe is severed... and then the only sound coming out of her is the gurgle of blood.
The Rider of such a mighty beast didn't move to avoid Mazz's attack... indeed, the grizzled man on it bore the look of an old disciplined sort. The kind you would not expect on such a pirate raid. He took the spear head on, letting it dig deep into his body before he brought one mighty forearm to hold at it... He was losing strength quite quickly, but still he managed to lift a length of wood with fire on the end. He then, still holding the lance thrust the wood into the kegs his Eagle had strapped to her...
Mazz would have around two seconds before they would explode with quite some potency.
Meanwhile, the firefly Rider managed to avoid Guy's attack entirely. The firefly moves in a dizzying way, able to move back, to the side, forward in the blink of an eye with completely control. And so, at the very last second the firefly moves to the right, avoiding letting Guy pass by as her Rider knocks another arrow on his bow and lets it fly after the Cat.
After completely obliterating the galleon the Dawnchaser did a forceful turn, sliding through the water in a semi circle just to crash into one of the medium vessels right on the side. The medium vessel was full of pirates, aching to board and attack the crew of the ship... though the strength with the which the two vessels slammed together made more than a few of them lose their foot.
The dark haired man drew two of his daggers and then cried "Secure them against us! Prepare the boarding planks! Drive them back and rout them!"
Dax meanwhile, would continue to be dragged right until that crash.
"You have bathroom indoor?" Fabius remarked, ignoring the offices, chairs, and even the medical equipment. "AMAZING!" Then his eyes darted around. "But people will go here and not head. We will need enforcer to keep out them."
"Ooof" Dax let out a grunt as more debris collided with him. "ARRGH" he yelled out as plank smacked his side, the rusty nail embedded in it giving him a sizable cut along his left hip as the plank itself remained lodged to him.
With that, he started to slowly pull himself up the rope a few feet with his hands and trunk.
"AWRIGHT!" Piers shouted, slapping his mechanical arm shut. "Let the festivities begin!" He plopped himself over to the side of the ship that Dax was attempting to climb. "Your not going to want to miss this!"
He gripped the rope with both hands and heaved backwards.
To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by."No! Wait! URGGHHH!!" Dax shouted, but it was too late. The plank had caught against the side of the ship, and with the force of the massive man and the elf pulling on the rope, he went up. The plank and the nail stayed there, as did a good amount of his blood.
Landing sloppily on the deck, he groaned. "Oh man, so not cool," he added, as he ran a hand over his left leg.
Corona gazed at the flickering core with glowing eyes, watching mana pour out of the furnace in droves. The magical energy swirled around the sealed of room before pouring into countless brass pipes along the ceiling, delivering the abundant energy throughout the ship like blood vessels in a body. Energy flowed along an artery towards the console Jeina had touched and spread across the table - the artificial woman could see particles of light float up from its surface... forming the facsimile of the ship along with the observational panels.
...the Dawnchaser's technology is... impressive, she thought to herself as her eyes returned to normal.
"So, what are our duties then?" Corona asked the yeoman as she observed the panels.
"I couldn't just leave you at the ship's side, as beautiful as it is!" Piers said, smiling. "Especially considering our primary offensive tactic, God bless the Captain's soul." HE took a look at the nail-wound.
"Not to mention, I just earned you some 'snake oil', if you catch my drift." Not wanting to loaf around much longer, he began gathering some boarding planks, though to be honest, he'd be just as happy if the pirates boarded them.
To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by.Benjamin wasn't going to need to get on board the other ship. It was time for him to finally put his archery to good use. Drawing out his bow and pulling an arrow from the quiver on his belt and got ready to fire his bow.
Violet meanwhile, just sat back and waited for when her tiger creatures could claw something.

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.

Corona nodded and followed behind the yeoman with her fellow engineer.
