Gotta say, really loving Kotoura-San. I just marathoned through the episodes yesterday and it definitely caught me off guard. The writers cleverly create an emotional connection between the viewers and the lead in the first 10 minutes, before moving on to a nice combination of heartfelt friendship and the occasional serious situation. Unlike most Rom Coms I've seen, it creates a situation where you want to protagonist to succeed. All in all, good watch.
I couldn't get through Cuticle Detective Inaba.

It's Rapid-Fire Comedy, that's its style. I dunno, it works for me. Not that it's comedy gold or anything.

Eh, I think there's a fine subjective line between "fun" invincible and "boring" invincible, and the latest episode just crossed it. Given that he's apparently strong enough to casually win with no effort it felt like he was just drawing things out for no reason, and it wasn't particularly flashy either.
Senran Kagura 6: Raging because of Hibari. For context, Hibari is the pink-haired, klutz, "stupid moe" character of the show. This would have been a minor annoyance at most had this show not been about ninjas.
Yes, the definition of "ninja" in this show is very, very loose, but you'd expect them to at least be competent fighters. Hibari is not. She can't even fight properly, she flails around like an amateur. All she can do so far is call for someone else's help and act "cute" (read: stupid).
Now, I do have to give props to the good stuff this episode.
- It's nice that the enemies still dominate the protagonists, even after the training episodes. The power gap is closer, sure, but it's not close.
- The enemy's plans are actually pretty smart conceptually. Show the good guys that their strongest isn't good enough, so that they'll be coerced into resorting to that hidden, super-strong power— which is what you want to steal. It does come off as narm-y in the execution, though. Sure doesn't help that the hidden, super strong power is called Super Secret Ninja Arts. Which are Secret Ninja Arts, but Super! Yeah.
I wouldn't say perfectly generic: It's aimed straight at what would normally be the Periphery Demographic. And the plot seems to be decent when it actually gets focus

So far I haven't really been impressed with Vividred either. Nothing there really wows me. It's not terrible, just that nothing feels very special. This is coming from someone who doesn't watch much magical girl stuff.
That being said, if they just go crazy wit the mecha-inspired stuff and do a magical girl Big Bang Punch I'd be all over that, just because it would be so goofy.
Anyway, should I give THE UNLIMITED Hyobu Kyosuke a try? Going fro the promo on Crunchyroll, it feels like it tries too hard to be cool.

whateverI like Unlimited but it's kind of hard to come up with a counter to the claim that it's "trying too hard to be cool". On the other hand, it's also aggressively silly half the time, so I don't know what that means overall.
Unless you want, like, a description of it or something all I can say is that I like it. It's just your standard supernatural action spy-thriller civil rights metaphor thing.

Amnesia 4: Certainly a not-so-generic take on the multiple routes element of VNs, but it's really, really boring. I can't even snark at it. Dropping.
Senyu 4: In which an old dude unceremoniously dies. XD Just kidding! Also Foyfoy. —snicker— Yes I'm shallow like that.
Mangirl 5: The art of ensuring font quality.
Inferno Cop 6: Inferno Cop and Mecha Cop get chased by dinosaurs with weird names, almost get roasted by weird gnome people for their nonexistent meat and end up pretending to be gods, which apparently ticks off the real Alpha and Omega. Yeeeah.
Senran Kagura 4: Beach Episode. No point snarking about the fanservice. Snarky comment of the day:
One of the Super Modes involves stripping down to swimsuits in order to raise attack and speed in exchange for lowered defenses. Okay... Then this works for the girl whose default Super Mode get up is her unbuttoned blouse and a skirt. She even keeps the boots, the one thing that would actually count as defense.
Also, Pink Hair's useless, Blondie's a jerk, and the fight scenes sucked.
Bakumatsu 4: Shooting arrows UNDERWATER. What.
Plus giant catfish. Yeah.
Trolling treasure box. Expected.
Oooh, boulder trap. Classic.
GOLDEN JAPANESE CASTLE MECHA. :D Instructions: FIGHT IT TO THE DEATH XD
Nooooo why did you press the red button
GJ-bu 4: Bridal carry, gender inverted.
Sweet potatoes are serious business.
Megu uses Maid Outfit! It's super effective!
Shion in Butler Outfit! :D
Kyoro's surprisingly honest. Guy seriously likes maids. To the dismay of his harem.
Shion's ED's still ear candy. n_n
