FU Nimation does not acquire "tons" of titles every season. 2-3 at most.

Actually, that can add up if they're more than 12 episodes. Currently, Psycho-Pass, Robotics;Notes, Kingdom, Toriko, and of course One Piece are still going on.

We'll very likely have our expected Haganai Next and Hetalia The Beautiful World announcements today and tomorrow.

EDIT: Or not. Forgot Ohayocon was coming up, and they're hinting announcements.

Funimation depends more on their gigantic back catalog. They still have a bunch of Geneon series they have to put out. I think Sentai's licensing blitzes are them trying to achieve a similar back catalog.

They still have a bunch of Geneon series they have to put out.

After the Geneon merger finally completed, pretty much everything's been pushed out in the latter half of 2012 and this month, and release dates for Shakugan No Shana Final and A Certain Scientific Railgun have been set. Hellsing Ultimate 9 and 10 haven't been licensed (though I keep thinking they have 9), but it's a Foregone Conclusion they will.

EDIT: There's Haganai Next for Funi's lineup!

EDIT 2: Funi pulled off another surprise addition — Minami-ke season 4! Wonder if they have the rest of the series...

It would be great if they eventually got the first 3 seasons too in the next years.

Goodness so many shows I need to see.

Funi was the last company I expected to pick up Minami-ke; they very rarely go for that type of show. Makes me wonder why they did go for it this time, but hey, works for me.

Any possibility of a home video release is still a long shot, but maybe if enough people watch the stream, they'll bite? Maybe this will be their "test" title for sub-only releases? (As much as I'd love to hear a dub for Minami-ke, at this point I'd be glad if it was released at all.)

They usually put most of their shows on DVD/Blu-ray.

[up] There's still a number of shows they didn't release, though, like The Tatami Galaxy and House Of Five Leaves (Funi simulcasted it, but NISA released it on DVD).

Which means this could end up being a situation like House of Five Leaves, where Funi does the streaming but another company will actually release the show on DVD.

Last Winter simulcast announcement for Funi was made today. Was obvious from the very beginning, but good to hear all the same.waii

The first episode of Minami Ke: Tadaima also went up a couple hours ago. Unlike Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 2, this is properly listed as episode 40 (and the page itself is the main title).

Amnesia 2: Slightly better than the first. Clothes still highly funky. The work benefits at the maid cafe are amazing; the owner must be really rich. Lead girl slightly less boring.

Senyuu 2: Ros is funny.

Bakumatsu 2: Rockin' OP and ED. Two factions after a certain Macguffin. Dual pistol-wielding samurai! And those pistols? Can turn into a sword! Fun.

Yeah, I don't have clue why is Bakumatsu ignored. It's definitely on of better shows of this season

second episode of mondaichi. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I do.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha 3 - And the harem is introduced! Lol. At least they're upfront about it. Plus, I like that the main gal is like Genre Savvy about harems. -sporfle- Btw, I am hoping that the main gal being so clever (discovered potatoes and invented the ?gyro? compass) isn't earning her significant hate in the fandom. I love that she's so smart!

Also, the Merchant is entertaining. Here's hoping that he's interesting enough as a love rival to balance out the harem bits (more or less).

[up][up][up][up][up]The number of recent shows that they didn't release on DVD/BD are very little. (barring Funico titles, that's a different matter)

[up][up][up][up][up][up][up]I'm pretty sure Funi having a sub-only DVD/BD release would be less likely than Aniplex having a reasonably priced release.

[up]I dunno man. A Funi rep was on a podcast recently and he did mention they were considering branching into sub-only.

Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker.

It's nothing too bad. They'll probably just be like Sentai.

But that may take Funimation down the path that won't make them dub the most anime per year in the country anymore.

Probably. If there's any possibility this will lead to less dubs I'll be disappointed, but not excessively so.

I mean, there's also the possibility that it may just mean extra anime brought in under Funimation which sounds entirely positive to me.

It could even come to nothing at this stage.

Hetalia season 5 will be premiering on Funi's site at 3 PM Eastern today. More on the ball than I was expecting, nice!

I kinda keep forgetting the show had its rating upped, so you gotta be logged in and be over 17 to watch.

Thankfully, we also have a Youtube link.

Amnesia 3: Still boring, but less so. Kinda sucks to have to deal with parallel worlds (at least that's what I think is happening) when you have amnesia. Anyway, barring a considerable increase in entertainment factor I'd say this is one show to stop watching if you haven't already.

Senyu 3: Ros. :)

Mangirl 4: Ehehehe.

Inferno Cop: Just... weird. XD Dat German ED.

Senran Kagura 3: Best bad show of the season. Seriously.

Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman 3: Still a good ol' fashioned action romp! Things are heating up and main players are showing their cards.

GJ-Club 3: I watch this just for Shion. She's cool and her ED is cool. It's really laid back. Poor guy gets messed with via fake confessions and harem antics.

The Problem Children is still my favorite show of the season. Izayoi is like an even more badass version of Akatsuki from Hagure Yuusha.
