Questions about Avalanche (the Marvel character) and earthquakes

Hey everybody. I'm feeling more creative than usual, and intending to write a story featuring Avalanche, set in present day San Francisco. I want to minimize the chances of me getting anything wrong, though, and while comicvine.com and Wikipedia are helpful, they don't tell you everything. I also kind of lack some real world knowledge that would be helpful here.

So without further ado, here are my questions:

-What is the name of the bar Avalanche currently runs? Is that ever shown in the comics?

-What name does Avalanche currently use? I remembered his name being "Dominic Petros" back in the day, but Comic Vine says that while he did use that as an alias, his real name is Dominikos Ioannis Petrakis. That, however, is a mouthful, so does he prefer "Dom"? Something else?

-What does it feel like to be in a normal earthquake? ("Normal" here meaning one that isn't strong enough to destroy anything or kill anybody and goes away after a short time)

-What precautions are typically taken in an earthquake-prone area to keep things around the house from getting broken? Like would you do anything to keep the lamp on your bedside table from falling off and breaking and, if so, what?

Ever been standing near something big as it walked/rolled/moved/flew near you? You'll fear a little tremor under your feet—usually not enough to throw you off-balance. That's typically what being in a "minor" earthquake feels like.
