I'm not overly familiar with the forums so if this isn't the place for it, apologies.

I'm looking for the name of a book I used to read constantly when I was about six or seven years old. I used to get it out from my local library whenever my mother and I visited. My memory is terrible and this is from 14 or 15 years ago so details are hazy.

The entire book consisted of, on the right-hand page, a photo-realistic drawing of a normal scene with something out of place, and on the left-hand page a very short segment of a story, only a sentance or two long. The only one that vaguely comes to mind is an entry titled "Just Desserts", and the associated picture was of a very normal looking house, with a white picket fence, with space shuttle take-off-flames errupting from the foundation. Every drawing in the book was in black and white.

If this strikes anybody as familiar and they could inform me I'd be very thankful. I've asked my mother about this book and she can't even begin to remember.

I don't recognize the book, but a good person to ask would be your local libraries children's librarian. Librarians are there to help people find books, that's their lifework, and they do it for love.

You're looking for The Mysteries Of Harris Burdick, by Chris Van Allsburg. And while technically they want you to use You Know That Show, enough people come to the forums with questions like this and they generally get answered, anyway, so it's only kinda-sorta out of place.
