@Lionheart The anime is ending with chapter 130 and they skipped chapter 123 to adapt later.

That's 10 chapters left. A movie won't be able to cover it now unless they make decent-sized cuts and do a 3 hour movie.

How do you see things going in a version of the story where Erwin lived and Armin didn't?

World peace and a complete cessation of hostilities between Eldians and Marleyans. I'm only half joking. That, or an establishing of diplomatic relations between Paradis and sympathetic non-Marleyan countries with the goal of undermining Marleyan supremacy with the Rumbling as a nuclear deterrent.

So Part 2 of the final season aired...and they're going to do a Part 3 next year. No film as some speculated, just a set of episodes called The Final Arc.

Man, I'm not sure if Anime fans are blessed or cursed with the way seasons have progressed over the years.

Cleanup for Audience-Alienating Ending is questioning if this series ending applies. AAE requires it cause fans to stop caring about the work prior to the ending as opposed to continuing to like what cane before and just disliking/pulling Fanon Discontinuity on the ending. It that the case for the series or not? The entry:

• Attack on Titan: The final chapter of the manga was intended to be a dramatic Bittersweet Ending but had so much Narm that it ended up being a giant joke, leading to an avalanche of memes on the internet. Spoilers of the final chapter are still being posted outside of the fandom leading to viewers that haven't seen the ending doubting if it is even the same story. In order to tone down the Flame War that was in the fandom, an extra 15 pages was added to the chapter in the final volume release; it ended up making things worse turning the entire story into a "Shaggy Dog" Story. It proved the final antagonist was correct. Paradis was bombed and the titan powers were reclamed rendering the Alliance's efforts to stop the centuries long war via reconciliation as useless.

As written, it fails to explain if/why it's causing fans to stop caring about the series prior to it and doesn't explain what exactly about it was so poorly received? Does AAE apply as opposed to just Fanon Discontinuity and if so help with the last two point I mentioned?

Hahahaha, had the same thought. Looking forward to each page from chapter 139 being adapted into a three-hour movie, each with an increasingly long subtitle adding synonyms for "final".

The last two E Ds already felt sad and finalistic,so its hard to imagine them making more E Ds without the feeling being cheapened.

Apparently the staff have apologized for this but there’s so many production issues they decided to adapt the remaining chapters into 2 cours

Essentially the production for this show is a fucking mess

And this, friends, is a lesson in why one should refrain from advertising a season as the "final" season, until they're actually working on the damn finale; and not still only 5/8ths of the way through the damn project.

Granted, I think this is the first 30+ volume manga that’s going to be adapted in its entirety since the seasonal model took over. The only other comparable example would be MHA, although it’s not over yet.

…And Jojo, but we’ll probably be pushing up the daisies before we see the end of that one.

To be fair, I don't think they knew this was gonna happen.

Hindsight is a bitch.

I appreciate that they expanded on Hange's last stand. They took it from seeming like they bought the alliance 2 seconds to it seeming like there should have been a hole in the line. They killed 7 directly and so many more indirectly.

I noticed they didn't show the rumbling reach not-Japan. Is there any chance they might reduce that 80% figure? Hopefully, they adjust a few things about the ending to make it less messy. At least make it clear how much time went by in those last few pages and whether or not that was just another war or not.

Oh, was the finalest season actually airing now?

There was an hour-long episode covering the first half of the Rumbling several months ago.
