For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube
which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B
to Z
, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE
) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Might come tonight, if I can make it.
Most certainly going to try and be there for Starcrash.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.We've watched six films that could be classified as "children's" unless I'm missing one. Of those six, only two received better than a one star rating. Two of those received an X rating. One of those is the worst film we've ever seen.
For reference, the six films I'm referring to are Santa With Muscles, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Mac and Me, Twin Sitters, Nukie, and Foodfight.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Baby Geniuses 2 is a "classic riffing movie"? All I've ever heard is that it's an utter travesty, much like the original. And terrible family/children's/Christian/etc. movies are usually always the hardest stuff for us to watch.
No matter, anyway, seeing that it we won't plan on watching it, at least, for another week* until after we wrap-up our retrospective week and then feature our mysterious 200th movie next weekend.
Speaking of that, let's start looking at how that's gonna turn out...
- Monday will be SHIT
- Between the pretty damn good weekend we've been having and what we'll have to look forward to in the coming days, we're getting our most difficult night out of the way first. Before tonight's movie, I'm polling the following movies:
- Hard Rock Zombies— Learning of the existence of this movie on Youtube was the whole reason for starting this little club in the first place; It's also a

- Star Crystal— The worst movie we've ever watched that has never been officially rated (mostly because nobody who has seen it could remember much about it when we finally put our ratings system in place)

Neither of them could have been needed on that low rent 'West Side Story' set
◊ for no more than just a few hours*. Granted, their hourly rate might have been a little higher than any other actor's... but it really shouldn't have been so high that getting half a day's work out of them would have made a noticeable percentage of a $4 million budget.
Then again, who is to say that these guys were ever good with money or what they were buying with it? They put having a fire suit ahead of having an actor who could convincingly yell, "Oh shit!"
Anyway, tonight begins our Retrospective Week, and to kick things off, we have the worst movie we've never rated—Star Crystal.
