For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube
which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B
to Z
, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE
) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Found a different service that not only makes .gifs but saves the parts you convert as mini-videos
, as well! Just type "gif" before "youtube" on any video link.
Now we got double the output from Hard Ticket to Hawaii!

Alright, first up it's this week's to-be-expected episode of Lexx, following up on the thrilling cliffhanger (what was that again?) that capped off last week's fare.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, it's the return of Turbo, Ozone, and Special K as they must unite the local breakdancing populace and save their beloved community rec center from the EVIL property developer in Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Can the Power of Dance be enough to stop a dreaded bulldozer? Find out!

Found Andy Sidaris's Picasso Trigger on YouTube.
EDIT: Also found, uh, something else. :/ Julie Strain returns in a non-Sidaris film: Blonde Heaven
. If I didn't know any better, I'd say it looks even pornier than Sidaris's stuff, but the plot is plenty dumb enough to match: A coven of vampires operates out of the titular modeling/escort agency; some topheavy idjit from Oklahoma stumbles into it while trying to get into Hollywood, and her boyfriend teams up with some good ol' vampire hunters to get her back.

i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyBlonde Heaven... This is when I know I've been watching way too many shitty movies.
One look at the trailer
... One glimpse of Los Angeles... One sight of an evil vampire cabal living in a mansion in the Hollywood Hills... One shot of a group of buff men in tight underwear surrounding a woman, and I'm asking myself, "What is this? A David DeCoteau movie???"
Then, lo and fucking behold, it IS a David DeCoteau Movie!
It's like I got a sixth sense for this fucking thing.
Also, we may as well just get to sharing in this consensus now: Forget Ed Wood or Uwe Boll or even Henry Winkler for that matter. David DeCoteau is OUR worst filmmaker of all time, and everyone better appreciate that for what it is.
In other news, tonight promises us some of the greatest airplane, car, AND blimp stunts to ever grace a moving screen. From the creator of the original Gone in 60 Seconds (1974), it's The Junkman.

Oh, you wit. You get a point.
In all sincerity though, if there's one obscure name from the film & television Z-list that I feel "privileged" to have gotten to learn so well, it's David DeCoteau.
From his directoral debut for Dreamaniac
in 1986 all the way to A Talking Cat!?!
in 2013, there is nobody in all of Los Angeles who has done so much stupid shit for so long and somehow always kept everything exactly the same, and for that alone, I'm in awe.
What's even more intriguing to me is that DeCoteau's name manages to stand out so much without any of his own movies ever scoring higher than a
with usnote .
Alright, first up, we got a couple of blasts from the past with old episodes of Starcade and Knightmare for our viewing pleasure.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, legendary stuntman H.B. Halicki
puts a personal collection of "over 200 cars, toys, and guns" to good use and winds up with a movie called The Junkman. Fun!

Lots of car crashes, and a finale that had two cars blow up with bombs because they had to involve cars in the end somehow.
Anyway, I got ahold of a bunch of movies that we might be seeing sometime. Like the Miley Cyrus movie LOL, whose title tells us everything we need to know about the amount of thought that went into making it.
But we also got more Uwe Boll fun like Alone in the Dark and Postal. And some David Decoteau action like Creepozoids and Dr. Alien.
And let's not forget Sharktopus.
Well, we'll be seeing these all at some point!
I still say that if you can get your hands on the 1967 Casino Royale, it'll be something we will never forget. Ever.
My constant comparisons to the Cannonball Run movies with this one were not unfounded.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Sorry I haven't been available this weekend. But I have a recommendation from Bael. He found this really low budget movie from 1992 called Galaxy of the Dinosaurs. Not to be confused with Planet of the Dinosaurs, though from what I can tell, they're pretty similar.
Apparently it was made on a budget of about $1,000. And I believe it. It's like they combined footage of some bad actors running around on camera with scenes from a different dinosaur movie. Sadly it's hella obscure, so no trailer to show you.
Sounds pretty terrible, alright. I'll be sure to look up what I can on this one.
Anyway, tonight for our viewing displeasure, we got the late 80's low-grade David DeCoteau romp Murder Weapon, with Linnea Quigley and Eric "Garbage Day"
Freeman, who is credited under a pseudonym because this cheap ass production couldn't get him a SAG union waiver to legally pay him less than the union's minimum daily wage. Still, more surprisingly, Eric Freeman was entitled to SAG perks and benefits after Silent Night Deadly Night, Part 2.
In any event, the actual trailer contains a very brief NSFW moment that isn't worth risking having a fuss over by embedding it here in this post. If that doesn't seem to bother you, however, you can take a look for yourself here
. Otherwise, below is safer trailer for another old DeCoteau movie that's practically indistinguishable, anyway.

From me comes Panic Mechanic, a 1996 South-African film that is as cringeworthy as they get (with late SA comedian Tolla van der Merwe), and mostly famous for this here little scene
.

Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.
That scene just looks so good. Everyone needs to click that link before coming to the chat tonight. I really hope we can track this one down.
And, speaking of South Africa, tonight's feature presentation from David DeCoteau is blocked in that country... along with Iraq, Iran, and India, which seems like the greatest feat a DeCoteau movie could possibly achieve.
Anyway, Knightfall and Bad Influence are up right now. Then, at the top of the coming hour, I'm praying I don't kill myself over Murder Weapon.

I offer you Assault On Dome 4. Starring Bruce Cambpell, Joseph Culp, Jocelyn Seagrave, Brion James, and James Lew.
Bruce is the bad guy in this one.
Only trailer I could readily find was one from the Sci-Fi channel when it was still called Sci-Fi.

Anyway, here we go! First up, we got more episodes of Knightfall and Bad Influence for our nostalgic enjoyment.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we're in for an evening of guns, drugs, and babes chillaxing in the Pacific sun in tonight's Feature Presentation, Hard Ticket to Hawaii, with a special introduction from director Andy Sidaris and Julie Strain just for US (and nobody else)!
It's gonna be a trip!
