For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Turkish Star Trek.
Is it produced by Kunt Films
War is God.I like the title of this one, and it actually looks kind of exciting.

Doing a bit more research, "Turkish Star Trek" is apparently the last of a series of Turkish movies about a hobo "tourist", Turist Ă–mer, who winds up in unusual locations and silly situations or something.
Looks interesting. Adding to Suggestions List.
Anyway, while I'm here, are there any other past features anyone wants to try and drum up interest in before we put something to a vote tomorrow night? So far, I know we got a few mentions of Foodfight!, plus Cyber Seduction and Ben & Arthur.
(There was also a mention of I Was a Communist for the FBI, but if we're really going to consider that, we may as well just watch paint dry.)

Babysitting, so will be missing some Godfrey Ho tonight. Well, it was my choice to visit my nephew anyway, in this case. Well, we all make our choices. Depending on how long the movie is, I might pop in late, or not.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!So you're aware then, the Godfrey Ho will be flowing until a little after 9:30. Hopefully, you can join us before then. In any case...
Oh, Ho-Oh-HOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo...
Kung Fu Friday begins now, starting with Ninja: The Mission Force and a glimpse at Godfrey Ho's Catman in Lethal Track. Then, at the top of the coming hour, we'll be starting our main feature Catman in Boxer's Blow.
You know where we at! http://synchtube.6irc.net/r/TroperCoven
All these worm .gifs are making me hungry...
Latest batch of additions to the .gif Archive:
Watching those is like looking at pictures from a party where you got really drunk, and then you're sobering up and trying to remember just what the hell happened. Yeah, last night's movie left little to no impression in my mind. I remember a satanic church and a guy getting scratched by a cat and being able to manipulate electronics and light cigarettes with his mind.
You know, as implausible as superheroes tend to be, when Peter Parker was bit by a spider, he at least gained the proportional strength of a human-sized spider and could adhere to walls. He didn't turn into the Clapper. The bad guy from Tiger Claw had better cat themed powers.
I gotta say though, every second of footage we saw last night that Godfrey Ho filmed himself was nothing short of utter brilliance. Other people seem to be picking up on this, too, which is why somebody edited all of Ho's original footage from the two Catman titles together into a single narrative. In case you missed all the good parts last night or want to see it again, check it out. Interestingly, the content from the "sequel" comprises the middle third of this narrative timeline.
Anyway, tonight will hopefully be better, as we gear up for the Strike Commando power duo of actor Reb Brown and director Bruno Mattei team up again to rip off Predator in Robowar.
Remember: Before the feature, we'll be taking a vote on what movie we'll be rewatching on Sunday. As of now, the top two candidates are appearing to be Ben & Arthur and the dreaded Foodfight! If anybody has a different movie they'd want to see considered, now would be the time to start your petition.

This feels vaguely relevant; D&D, now with 100% more mole men.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faer"If you have any problems with elves, orcs, feats, crits... miniatures, dice, math... rolling for initiative, imagination..."
In other news, I'm likely gonna be a bit late to the chat tonight and miss most/all of pre-show, but I got everything set for you guys when the time comes for everyone to convene. Immediately before the movie, we'll take a quick poll to find out whether the collective would prefer to rewatch Sunday evening between Ben & Arthur or Foodfight! on Sunday.
Anyway, I'll see you guys in a little bit.
I'm not watching Foodfight! again.
Oh God no.
I barely escaped with my life the last time.
War is God.I'm sure you don't want to be a triple-poster before posting any new, .gifs, right?
Well, while I'm here, I may as well share Something Awful's great review of tonight's great movie.

I'm sad that we didn't get Foodfight!, but I'm not going to dwell on it. We'll get to it eventually.
Anyway, since me ranting on about it would be boring, I'm going to vote for Cyber Seduction next time. Go Cyber Seduction!
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."I have to admit, as our utter worst features go, Cyber Seduction would be near the top of my very small list of such movies I'd give a second go around.
I certainly know I'm in a very small minority, among those who were there to see it the first time around, anyway.
Alright, fellas. We asked for it? We got it!
The Coven's pick for this 13-day cycle's Replay Night is Ben & Arthur, and so that is what we shall have...
I want to ask, though... Should we have the next episode of Space: 1999 up on the playlist for pre-show, or should we hold off on that one more night and find older pre-show material from past nights to be enjoyed a another time around, just like the main feature?
Would anybody have any suggestions for pre-show, should we go with the latter option?
Hey, Prom, you saw Pilot Candidate, how bad was it?
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."You know, you could raid the So Bad Its Horrible page for pre-show material. I'd love to see you take on the pilot for Heil Honey Im Home, for example.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."It was bad. Not really in any remarkable way. It has bad writing, bad characters, egregious use of choppy CGI, and some questionable lore or whatever.
The enemies are named "Victim". That just speaks for itself.
I found it entertaining, if anything.
War is God.Conversely, I'd love to see you take a more active part in our chat and actual activities.
Honest truth, I get a lot of suggestions and recommendations already just from the people who actually do show loyalty and commitment to our group mission and repeatedly sit through utter crap that they themselves wouldn't otherwise have intentions to watch on their own. It wouldn't be fair to them if I were to ignore their own suggestions and discoveries just to satisfy somebody who never even bothers to share our group experiences.
We're more than happy to have you around to take part in what we do, Aldo, but I have to question what you're looking to get out of this thread/group if you never even get involved with the one activity that matters to us most.

I do sometimes tune in, but unfortunately.... Life kinda gets in the way.
I'm willing to participate when I have the time and at present I don't really have the time. I don't even think I'll be able to tune in tonight.
But I would like to participate. Maybe when a movie I'm interested in comes up.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."If you simply don't have the time, that's fine; I can understand that... But how exactly could you ever hold out just for when a particular title catches your eye, unless you could already make the time for yourself when you so choose to do?
Why not just come by when you happen to have the time?
edited 9th Feb '14 11:08:33 AM by SeanMurrayI
Some movies simply don't interest me. It's as simple as that.
But it's a lesser reason than the fact that I never really have the time or I've committed to something else...

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."
Oh, Ho-Oh-HOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo...
Yes, it's Friday again, and we got your weekly dose of Kung Fu greatness queued up and ready to be unleashed like a roundhouse kick to the face.
This week, we'll be drawing on more of Godfrey Ho's bottomless filmography for tonight's feature, which will come in the form of one of his very last movies, from the mid-90's, called Catman in Boxer's Blow.
Come to the chat before 8:00 (EST), and we'll have an abridged version of Godfrey Ho's original Catman movie Catman in Lethal Track.
