For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube
which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B
to Z
, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE
) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Still down on my end. Server connected to the Michigan area seems to be knocked out.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Oh god. That was quite a bad movie in my opinion. I mean, sure it subverted one or two tropes, but its ending was completely out of nowhere and made the entire thing seem pointless, the characters were shallow, and... ARGH!
I think I'm going to wash my brain in acid to see if I can forget it.

It was just about So Okay, It's Average. It did avert Black Guy Dies First, though. In fact, the black guy didn't die at all. Oh, and everyone was a dick.
Oh, and there was far too much fanservice. Bisected's Fanservice count broke during the movie.
I think Eddie's planning on fucking with our avatars for Halloween because for a moment, everyone's avatars turned into "creepy" things.

Yeah. I swear there were like 5 minutes of nothing but close-up Panty Shots. And by "close up" I mean that there was nothing on the screen ASIDE from the panties.
If that isn't ridiculous amounts of Fanservice, I don't know what is.

Well, Linnea Quigley WAS in it... I'd imagine the 2010 remake of last night's movie is much worse...
Anyway, I don't know if/when I may get power back. A tree fell somewhere on my block and snapped a phone pole with it. Terrible situation. And it's my mom's birthday today. So, for now, my leave of absence may have to persist.
Hope Sleepaway Camp is still a "hit" though. The water balloon fight on a roof, the Jewish bodybuilder in hot pants, the bitch councilor teaming with the bitch camper, the Oscar Clip... Oh god, the Oscar Clip! I'm definitely gonna regret missing that crap more than Angela's strobe light dance to Bauhaus tunes.

Synchtube still says it's down on my end, and when I tried pressing the "try for a live version" button, it didn't work because it said I was trying to get on when a whole bunch of others were trying too.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Well, cell phone towers are working again. Glad to be able to check in periodically, again.

This was supposed to be a deliberate day off for everybody (or anyone who can) to do their own thing for the holiday. So we weren't really planning anything for tonight in advance. I presume Sleepaway Camp wasn't enough of a send-off before a holiday break (Or you didn't see it last night, and if you haven't, just watch that on your own, anyway; it's the perfect Halloween movie).
Eh, I'm good for tonight. Got preparations to make for Youmacon.
Speaking of, won't be on for movies until Sunday.

Still down on my end.
