For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube
which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B
to Z
, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE
) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Getting everything started now. Find us at the OP.
The chatroom is open!
Tonight, we will learn how to make... a horse head bookend.
Perhaps Man's highest cultural achievement is the horse head bookend. With rape and violence rampant in this land, with human flesh cheapened and vulgarized, one of the last bastions of decency is the gentle satisfaction one gains from making a horse head bookend.
Haven't hyped anything up all day, but I got a playlist going, if anybody else is around right now, anyway. YOU know where to find me!
I'm really happy Student Bodies was such a huge hit. We're definitely going to have to watch it again and get more people together real soon.
Anyway, tonight... I'm not entirely sure what to go for, but I think I Was a Teenage TV Terrorist is a good enough title to drum up some interest... even though that's all I got. No trailer, no brief clips... just the title and the knowledge that this is coming from Troma Films. We still haven't watched any Troma flicks yet.
What say you?

I don't know if I'm gonna be around tonight. I want to try to catch a midnight screening of that new Judge Dredd movie just because, and I got a fair bit of work I have to get done beforehand.
All the better, taking tonight off gives me a little more opportunity to focus on making the most out of this coming Friday and Saturday.

Ohhhhh... Well... there are some corrupt Judges in the new Dredd movie. Yeah, so that means they betrayed the law, and Dredd calls them out on it in those exact same terms.
Yeah.
Anyway, it's a pretty good action movie. In fact, this scene from "Scrubs"
would have made way more sense if they were watching Karl Urban and not Stallone.
I'm going to need to watch it again just to try and notice more of the easter eggs hidden on computer monitors and in the scenery, but I was strangely pleased to catch a glimpse of my first ever forum avatar in the opening scenes...

Also... I'VE FOUND THE COMPLETE STALLONE ADAPTATION ON YOUTUBE! It's literally just been uploaded and just a couple of days old, and it will surely be taken down again very soon. I say we gopher it and watch it tonight. We won't get many chances for something like this.

If for no other reason than to let them know it exists (assuming you're reaching out to new people who don't know about this or people who do know about this coven but never seem to ever visit it), then yes.
Make sure you link to the OP. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13456679170A21340100&page=1#1
I am so glad you guys linked to this on the Dredd topic. This just seems like an awesome idea. I'd love to participate. : )
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Alright, the show's up and running, and I sure hope nobody posts here for a while before anyone else posts.
If you do post here in the time while we're starting up tonight, please copy this to your post, while you create our unlucky 13th page:
