I actually haven't played the game since the implementation of the Level Up system. I used to play it near religiously until my old phone got too heavy to reliably run the game, and as a result I haven't touched it in a well over a year.
The Level Up system + no new levels + slew of cash-only plants turned me off as well
Yep, Moonflowers + Dusk Lobbers are hilariously OP against a large horde. I don't know what a Shadow Peashooter is though lol
It's the newest plant, one that has been out for less than a week actually.
So basically, it's a peashooter but when powered up with Moonflower it can shoot through an entire lane AND slow them down.
It's one of the best plants for pirate Endless Mode, in my experience.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Oh wow these new plants keep getting more and more OP. Let me guess, it's also cheaper and stronger than Laser Bean?
Yup. It cost 125 sun and does about 50% more damage.
Currently my most leveled up plant is Primal Wallnut, at lv 5. That happens to be the level where additional armor upon using plant food becomes twice as hard. XD
I am trying to level up Primal Potato Bomb, Moonflower, and Dusk Lobber all of which are lv 3. Primal Potato Bomb is just great. I think it's one of the top 5 best non-premium plants.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. So I caved into temptation and ended up buying Power Lily, mostly because I finished the Epic Quest and received 60 seed packets. Combining that with other PL packets, I leveled it up to 4 and soon to be 5. Man, this thing drastically reduces the difficulty of Endless Mode.
I wonder what I should buy next. I'm torn between Explode-o-Nut and Ice Snapdragon.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Currently stuck at Gold Rank for three weeks. I just can't seem to break into the top 3, always ending at fourth. XP
At the bright side, due to my efforts I managed to upgrade Ghost Pepper to Lv 4. I just love that plant.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. Is it worth redownloading this? I found it quite the departure from the original and I'm curious how P 2 W it is these days.
I don't know your preferrence so I can only speak from my experience, and I say yes, it's worth redownloading. The only big difference is the level up system, but you don't necessarily have to pay a whole lot. I managed to get to the second highest tier in the competitive and only thing I paid for is Power Lily and extra slot for seed.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Thank you. I'm not averse to IAP if the core gameplay is fun and not exploitative. I tend not to pay for PVP elements, but will pay for single player expansions or enhancements for fun. I tend to avoid paying for energy unless the core hook is great.
I enjoyed PVZ 2 to start, but the ever present three star system in mobile games knocked me back.
I think they got rid of the 3-star system a long time ago. Like, 2 or 3 years ago?
Longer than that. I got really into the game in '14, and there was no trace of it back then.
Yes!
Finally got into the Jade tier, the highest competitive level in Battlez. And I immediately regret it, because this tier is filled with people who uses gems to purchase extra gauntlets. I only depend on free gauntlets. XP Maybe I should just stick to Gold tier...
Also, I upgraded a whole lot of plants:
Lv 7 Pepperpult: Not exaggerating, two Pepperpults can warm up entire field. That's how wide the warming radius gets with upgrade. Step aside Fire peashooter, you are replaced.
Lv 5 Chard guard: It can now knock back 6 times. I can practically keep the zombies away forever! Additionally it costs 50 sun and 11 second cooldown, making even Primal Wallnut (mine is Lv 6 btw) obsolete except few specific situations.
Lv 5 Stunion: Now it can actually kill zombies because it can stun AND poison zombies. This practically makes Chili bean obsolete.
Lv 5 Dusk Lobber: Ridiculous DPS. That's all I'll say.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. As of now, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in this site still playing this game, but I just have to rant.
Warning: Profanities ahead.
Mother-FUCKER!!
Who the dipshit who designed the last few Pinata Party!? WHO. In the right mind. Have THREE VASEBREAKERS IN A ROW AS PINATA PARTY!
And today's PP is an additional layer of FUCK YOU, I mean, holy fuck, a buckethead zombie in the nearest vase to the house? A goddamn Boombox zombie? Jesus Christ. And all I get to use is Garlic, Phat Beet, Stunion, and Threepeater.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!
In a less complainy note, I've been keeping up with Leveling Up. I leveled up a whole lot of plants, but few standouts:
- Level 10 Primal Nut: This is the single highest leveled plant I got.
- Level 7 Primal Potato Bomb: Cooldown of 18 seconds, kills practically an entire column INCLUDING gargantuars. This is the single most destructive plant I have. XD
- Level 6 Primal Sunflower: Holy shit, a fast charging 75 sun plant that produces 100 sun? Go away, Twin Sunflower. You are no longer needed.
- As you can see, I've been spending a lot of gems leveling up Jurassic Marsh plants. As soon as I'm done with upgrading Perfume Shroom to level 7, I will move on to Future plants, primarily to level up Laser Bean, Infi-nut, and most importantly, Power Turnip.
- Oh, and I unlocked some seed packet plants:
- Zoybean Pod: Now officially one of my Top 5 plants. Basically, it grows Zombies to fight for you and higher the plant level, the stronger the zombie. Currently mine is at level 4, so it spits out coneheads. It's awesome.
- Dazey Chain: This plant is broken. It takes a while to fully grow, but once it does, it's like Corn Catapult, except it can paralyze entire row. It also has low price, fast recharge, and fairly decent DPS.
So, just asking out of curiosity, what would you guys want from a Plants Vs. Zombies 3?
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.A clone of Pv Z 1, with new plant and zombie types. Paid for upfront with zero microtransactions.
No bullshit like a plant which is a direct upgrade in every way but locked behind a paywall. Actually, fuck that. No paywall plant.
Yeah, have the game cost like 10 or 15 dollars but make all the plants available with sufficient grinding, just like in the first game.
Also, please make the plant balance more even. Can't Catch Up is a serious issue in PVZ 2.
Oh, and bring back the minigames! Seriously.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Sorry for the necro.
I recently downloaded and been playing Project Eclise, and this is exactly what Plants vs Zombies 2 should have been. It basically is a pvz2 mod that practically reworks the entire game from the ground up, with brand new levels, new world and plant progressions, and most importantly, no paywalled plants.
It's completely free to download and play, although you can donate to the creator's Patreon for support.
It rebalances the plants so everything more or less is viable. For example, Snapdragon is now a direct strong DPS, while Cold Snapdragon is much weaker DPS used for the slowdown. It's also based on an old version of pvz2, so the latest plant is Electric Peashooter, and no newer plants afterwards. The creator did make some new plants though.
Just one thing: This thing is Nintendo Hard. I'm a bit halfway through the game, and there are some levels that require 3+ hours each to beat. There's an easy mode version, but all it does is reduce zombie HP.
Can Someone make a fanon page for Plants vs Zombies Eclise?

Alright, Pokra's back through Penny's Pursuit. If anyone wants the broken-ass melee plant they can get it now
To farm 60 seeds per Zomboss fights I recommend using a strategy of Caulipower + Enchant-Mint + Gravebuster + any plant you'd like for the 3 chilli fight

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."
So. Literally over a year after swearing off of this game, I picked up this game again. Seems like this finally fixed the total game reset glitch, so now this is far more playable.
I don't mind the Level Up system. Yes, it's very much favored towards people who are willing to shell out a lot of cash, but I am doing fairly decent in the Battlez without ever paying for pinatas.
Random note: Once you raise Squash up to level 3, it actually attacks twice; it jumps towards a zombie and it jumps back at the original spot. An awesome thing is that when it jumps back to the spot, it counts as attack as well. Bascially, if you plant it right on top a Gargantaur, it will smash it twice in a row, killing it before it can throw the imp.
Also, I never realized how utterly efficient Moonflower + Dusk Lobber could be until this update. Add in Shadow Peashooter, I can breeze through a lot of Endless Modes. XD
