I currently unlocked the Modern Day level where you have dinosaurs appearing with the likes of Excavator Zombies, Chicken Wranglers and Gargantuars, without the option of using the Perfume-Shroom to counter the dinos. I saw the level, closed the screen and went to find something to eat.
Use guacodile and plant him on top of the excavators about to reach the dinos to kill the excavators. If he rushes off screen it DOES NOT count as a plant lost.

I actually find Nightshade to be very strong. It's just that he's introduced in a world that isn't friendly to him at all. Pretty much AoE is the only way to go for the most part. He otherwise outclasses Repeater and Redstinger in DPS, and he costs half that of Redstinger.

...ehehSo I recently learned about the Achievements in this game.
Amazingly enough, of 72 achievements, I actually succeeded in almost all of them without consciously trying.
Some of the achievements that I intentionally went for:
- Beating a level using nothing but Phat Beet - Took them and used it in Egypt Day 1.
- Have Tyrannosaur eat 10 zombies in a single level - Just went to a random Jurassic Marsh level past Day 17, took the Perfume Shroom and Power Lily.
The ones that I'm working on right now is being past the 30 level in Vasebreakers. Right now I am at 20. It's becoming more and more pain in the ass.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.
Agreed. Feel the same way about Bowling Bulb, Sweet Potato, and Primal Peashooter. Impractical on hard levels, but really fun to use.
Anyway, any tips how to use Shadow-shroom effectively? To get the most of it, you need it planted near a Moonflower. Problem, you want Shadow-shroom to be planted up front, but you don't want your Moonflower anywhere near the zombies. Modern Day 14 gave a suggestion using Garlic, but Garlic isn't that practical for larger hordes.
Well then, saw upcoming content for Modern day part 2 & I'm.......actually disappointed.
Apparently were going to get a gauntlet, one with all the bosses we've faced, then we get the taco that's it? What?? No new boss? Just all the bosses we've already gone through?
Also why are all the new special edition plants premium
- Shrinking Violet: Premium
- Blooming Heart: $6.99 premium (WTF?)
......Okay what about Escape root?
..........It's a premium
I just don't understand, if they're adding so many premiums they should change some to gemiums *cough*Snow pea*cough*

At the very least, all the premium plants that came from the first game should be bought with gems.
I'm also surprised by the lack of a true final boss. Was there really a need to rehash all the old bosses?

I've tested, and I can confirm.
Even in Endless Mode, where you start off with plenty of Plant food, you can't use Moonflower in Dark Ages. It relies on you being able to earn another 100 sun before it can start paying off, something that Dark Ages does NOT do.
The plant food effect will produce 25 or 50 sun that early on, so even if you start with a surplus, it's not going to help unless you also have a bunch of cheap and/or free plants to protect it until it finishes building up.

Jist finished Jurassic Marsh. Is it weird that I think it's one of the better worlds? I mean, the dinosaurs ARE bullshit, but it's balanced by the relatively harmless zombies. Plus Gargantuars don't appear all that often, so defensive plants are extremely useful.
Plus, all plants introduced here are top tier (save Perfume-Shroom, which is more necessity). Primal Wallnut in particular is the MVP of this world.
This world feels like the opposite of NMT. NMT has a bunch of weak zombies that can one-shot your plants. JM has no one-shotters, but pretty tough zombies.
Now, Moderm Day. What the flying fuck were the developers thinking when they send you an Octo Zombie on first wave? Moonflower is great, but Nightshade is weak as hell. Haven't touched Shadow-shroom much yet.
