It also learns more moves, but I don't think he knows that.

Well, it does learn moves faster, but as the comments have stated, at length, you can only get Double Kick if you evolve Torchic at level 16.

Yeah, but Jon seems to have a habit of not taking the time to learn about games he's disinterested in (but is still confident in his abilities to judge it). Besides, too late now. Unless he evolves and the Move Tutor can do something.

The most recent New Super Mario Bros Wii isn't that bad. I think most of it is because it's a different recording session, and they aren't in the same mindset they were in before.

I guess the fact that they spend most of the episode basically explaining themselves might be a down side. It seems, to me, that they are a bit bitter, but at the same time, trying to be civil, and trying to be understanding that people disagree with them (and ask likewise I guess)

My main problem was mostly that...yeah. They got so into rant mode during the previous videos that it's hard to tell that they were having fun. Basically, they had to tell us that they are having fun, which is a bad sign in my opinion.

Also, I do hope they weren't planning to go on with that throughout the series. Agree or disagree (again, I do think they make valid points, and they explain them better here) if they went on about the soulessness of the game until world 8, the series would get old fast.

It's fairly obviously a different session because they had the Star Coins already earned when they started. They clearly went through it, then went through it again in the new recording because in the old recording, they stopped after World 2, but the one level didn't fill a whole episode. This is speculation, but it's pretty obvious.

And yeah, they DO at least seem a lot smarter about it after realizing a lot about what they were saying seemed vitriolic and, to use a term, "oldfag". So even if they keep disliking it, as long as they keep the same level of civility, I'll keep watching it.

Edit: ...I just missed the obvious fact that the episode is now de-letterboxed into widescreen. :v Yeah this has to be a new session.

The new Mario vid was cool.

I think they say (or at least imply) that it was a new session. They said "we record most of these all at once". And if this was the previous session, they wouldn't know how people reacted, now would they?

Huh, discovered these guys. Do these guys always rant and are depressed about everything? I only watched a few of their NSMBW videos, and while it is a shitty game, they just keep ranting about it, and it's boring. I agree with their points, but they always in rant mode?

Skyward Sword was a piece of shit, though if they keep going grandpa mode, I think I'm just gonna drop these guys.

No, watch their other videos. Goof Troop is HILARIOUS. They do nothing but joke around.

They explained about their opinions about NSMBW in episode 6, which is the best episode from that series so far.

Have you seen their other series, like Kirby Super Star and Mega Man 7?

Out of all their series, I think I disliked NSMBW eps 1-5 the most because they were very complainy.

Goof Troop and Emerald are really funny. Apparently MM 7 is good and Animal Crossing is looking to be quite good too.

Their other episodes are WAY different than the NSMB videos. I suggest watching the Goof Troops eps, they're very lighthearted.

Yeah, most of the time, they tend to be either talking about the game, games that the current game reminds them of, or devolving into utter randomness.

They took down NSMBW #7 but someone else's reuploaded it because there was no commentary, and only occasional pics.

Meanwhile, there seem to be more and more Game Grumps Vs. videos.
