Hmm, how much are we supposed to symphathize with Christopher?
Yeah I mean symphatize. I know this is kind of a pet peeve but by the time Christopher sees his mother in London....and then complains about having to take his Math test, my patience was wearing thin with the character. On the other hand, it's a good display of how detached he is.

It was a good read,still a Downer Ending that it had to be the most sympathetic character who killed the dog.

This was actually one of my summer reading books for 10th grade(and my favorite...between The Alchemist and Night). One of the first things that attracted me was that the title actually concerned a dog(hey, i like animals). I could relate to the protagonist's various quirks(though he could get on my nerves at times). I just a very interesting way of viewing the world.
