...lolyeah I remember those. I'm almost certain I was the one that put those examples in, back when I was still getting used to this place. I put Ichinose Kai is under Meaningful name as well. XD
Though I feel somewhat slighted by Tenzen's sentiment that concours are "srs bsns" (that may be the musician in me talking, though), I do have to agree that series specialized in particular subject tend to be...difficult to trope and generate interest. I wouldn't mind having a crack at making a work page for Piano no Mori sometime in the future, though. Not now, though. One difficult-to-trope page at a time.
I'm currently working on 3-gatsu no Lion, and it pretty much just proves Tenzen's point. I didn't think a series about a morose, teenage, pro shogi player going through life lessons would be that difficult to trope. >>;; And judging from the lack of posts in the topic I created for it, I won't be getting help in quite a while. lol
Other than 3nL, though, I've been reading Gakuen Babysitters, a story about a high schooler who's babysitting his brother and the school faculty's children at their daycare center as repayment toward the chairman taking legal custody of them. As one might expect from a series revolving around cute children, it's a Slice of Life, episodic series with cute little stories that might a bit too saccharine for once sensibilities if they dislike series that Tastes Like Diabetes. XP I personally enjoy it very much, though. So much so that I also made the page for that. Annoyingly enough, that was considerably easier to list tropes under...
Regardless of quality*, I've recently started reading Himawari Youchien Monogatari Aiko Desho!.
And yes I realize it doesn't have a page. No I am not going to make one. The last page I made was Our Wormholes Are Different, and back then I actually had time on my hands for that sort of thing. I definitely don't have the time to make a works page.
One of the seinen series I'm following is Hito Hitori Futari. It's fairly obscure, which is why I was a little surprised to find that it DOES have a page here (albeit a really small one despite the amount of translated chapters). I mean, really, the other focal character is a middle-aged Prime Minister, so there's not much draw for younger readers.
Well, given how it's mostly about politics, which I don't think MANY people find that interesting, it's not surprising. There's just something distasteful to all the wheeling and dealing that goes behind the running of governments, and how it's portrayed in Hito Hitori isn't really positive at times.
Just found another: Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara. (Or Kanojo ga Flag o Oraretara, if you prefer to write it that way.)
About a guy who can see the "flags" of people around him. Not just love-based flags, as the most common one is known, but anything. Whenever a person is at a crossroads in their life, he'll see a little flag on their head saying what it is (and he'll always understand what the flag means; that's a part of the power).
Reminds me a bit of Iris Zero, except he's the only person who can see anything.
Onepunch-Man
Bought you by Eyeshield artist. a silly and "boring" story about superpowered hero. so far the story is basically parody and destructicon of standard superhero. but have lot of potential
I'm usually wary of labeling anything I've heard of as "under-the-radar", but given that Google can't find a single mention of it on this site:
Spirit Circle: By the author of Hoshi No Samidare. It's about two middle school students (boy and girl) who can somehow remember their previous lives... in which they were mortal enemies who always ended up killing each other. For very good reasons. The story is basically structured as a series of long flashbacks with intermission chapters, showing both sides of their recurring conflicts and the reasons why they both felt they were justified. Jumps around through various countries and points in history. A story about vengeance and forgiveness.
Koi Dano Ai Dano: A non typical highschool romance. The female lead is a bit of a plain jane, and she knows it, but she doesn't care in the least. She's too busy blackmailing, bluffing, and otherwise manipulating the school around her. Completely oblivious to love, and not interested in it.
Tropes associated with her: Guile Hero, The Chessmaster, Pass the Popcorn, Oblivious to Love, Pet the Dog, I Was Just Passing Through, The Spock, Deadpan Snarker, He Is Not My Boyfriend, Just Friends
This doesn't seem to be under the radar at all in Japan, but so far it doesn't seem like anyone else on this site reads Shibatora. When I first checked a few days ago, it hadn't garnered even a mention on the entire wiki. This is a tremendous oversight.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Abnormal-kei Joshi

Feng Shen Ji: Surprisingly good manhua about a prince who vows revenge against the gods when his family is killed in an uprising against the gods. Also contains several Chinese historical references.
Rolan The Forgotten King: A story about a princess of a weak country and her mysterious bodyguard Rolan who are trying to stop a losing war between her country and the larger power.
Just finished Ashita Dorobou
. It's the story of your average salaryman who can't get over his ex-girlfriend from school (possibly because she was a Manic Pixie Dream Girl)... only to find her reappearing at the scene of an alien invasion and not having aged a day. It's an... interesting... take on the themes of growing up, first love and emotional maturity, the pacing is decent, and it's short enough to finish in an afternoon.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.

Did you link to a scan site?
No matter. It still looks interesting, even if the male lead looks annoying.
