Jack was there to greet Rocket as he exited the elevator. "Hi. Basically what I'd like is for you to act as a security consultant and also be there as backup during the shows in case of any super powered trouble. I'd like you to talk to Hal, our head of security and Sam, my producer and the man who'll be cutting you a check. Do you have Pay Pal?
Trump delenda estThe Sandman grinned under her mask. Either the old guy knew she was there or was waiting for somebody else.
This wasn't too surprising; it was broad daylight after all.
Regardless she decided to keep her distance for now and moved further into the building, searching for an office where she could find personnel files. However, as always she had her gas gun handy.
Storm nodded.
"Sounds good. Let's go, then...?"
She realized she was probably sounding a bit too bossy and ended her sentence with something more like a question mark, lifting a few inches off the ground in preparation.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.html"Let's roll!" cried Sunspot, and the groups ran off in opposite directions. Common sense caught up with Karma, and she slowed to a brisk walk.
Wesleigh found a small, half-shut room on the corner. Inside, there was a vanity mirror, a desk with draws, and a coat hammer with various coats hats and scarves covering it.
Later that day
It was a fairly regular day at the Otheroom. People were buying wines from the counter, and warmly chatting with their friends around the tables. But then the Question entered the darkened room, and the noise level dropped considerably. People were trying hard not to look at the strange trench-coated man, whose face seemed completely blank.
A rather small, skinny man, with a brown suit and a brown moustache, was sat at the counter, talking with the barman. As he noticed the customers quiet down, he turned to the door, and after a brief moment of surprise, he laughed and went over to the Question. "I can't believe it! You actually read my message! Or maybe you're just here on your own...Either way, can I get you something to drink, my good man?"

And a Strange Figure Emerges."What's Pay Pal?" Rocket asked. "I'll ask Pyko later, he probably set it up for me. Anyway, when I entered the building there's already a glaring lack of security, namely the metal detectors. Those are very basic electrocconductive metal detectors. If you're gonna be dealing with mutants, you'll be needing something with that can detect actually energy sources as well as the type of energy they give off. Most of my equipment is made from metal that don't conduct electricity and materials that aren't metal, such as reinforced plastics and resin. Plus some atmospheric detectors as well in case of anything airborn.
"But enough prattling off, this is just me giving you guys advice on stuff," Rocket continued. "Won't cost much. just in the ballpark of 25 bucks an hour."
A beat.
"Also, I think we may need to check up on Sam. I think I gave him a heart attack...."
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Storm sighed. It seemed like they'd been searching for at least an hour now, and they had yet to find anything or even talk to anyone—everyone was far too busy to indulge a few teenagers, it seemed.
She stretched in place, looking around for anything even resembling a clue.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.html"I'm afraid its only me, and yes I saw your little message" He moved over to the counter and asked for a Cutty Sark whiskey, would the small man come with him we would ask "First things first, who are you? and what do you want?" said the faceless man trying to put out the politest tone he could manage
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song."Oh you are, are you? That's just swell. I need a drink, and I don't care what."
As Storm surveyed the area, she caught something out the corner of her eye. There, down by the lakeside, was that a black marking on the sidewalk?
"Name's Frederick Foswell, I'm the reporter who wrote that little article. I'm also the guy who's been looking for an opening to bust the Big Man's chops for weeks."
As Wesleigh searched through the coat pockets, she noticed something hanging deep within. In a certain light, it almost resembled a hand. An impossibly long, thin and bony had, dark grey with an off-white bandage wrapped around it.
And it was moving.
"HNRRRRRRRG!"
◊ The creature stumbled through the clothes and lunged for Wesleigh.

And a Strange Figure Emerges.Storm motioned to Karma and Sunspot.
"Down here, guys. Some sort of black mark by the lake here..." She leaned down for a closer look.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlThe martial arts training kicked in on instinct and she dropped the gas gun. Sandman dropped a shoulder and rammed her palm at the creature's face.
If successful she would then hook it around the midriff with her other arm before throwing it bodily to the floor, keeping control of its right arm.
"I've got inside information, my friend," said Foswell, "If you've got any questions about his bases, then I've got the answers."
Her friends came over to see. The black mark scraped hard across the pavement, and it looked like something between fuel leakage and scrapes from a heavy metal object.
"Looks like something hit the ground pretty hard here," said Sunspot. "Think it had something to do with your old pal Stark?"
As the mummy was pinned to the ground, it twitched in place and struggled to move, like an old toy robot puppy trying to walk through a door.
And a Strange Figure Emerges.Storm nodded slowly.
"...Probably. Something...what, metal? It doesn't look like Stark got hurt—there's no blood...Let's look around here a bit more. Should we call Cannonball and Magma?"

Sunspot walked behind Deadpool, and pushed him over to a bemused Cannonball. "Here, have a new teammate. If you get the sound of his voice as far away as possible, I'll be very happy. Now can we please go and find some small crumb of a clue?"
"Sunspot, Storm and I should head for the riverside now," said Karma, "If we haven't found anything in one hour, we'll regroup outside Columbia University."
And a Strange Figure Emerges.
