Spider-Man! Megan spoke through the mental link as she flew into the prison. The students are on Detention K, but so is She-Bat! She seems to be alone, so let's meet up there!
Belualis, meanwhile, wasn't having the best of times. Once the gunk started climbing up his nose, he made a gagging sound, pulled back his head and sneezed- the blue gunk and some snot- all over Blue Beetle, the blast from his cannon helping. "Hah!" He scoffed as he cleaned his face. "Is that all you got?!" He roared as he grabbed the nearest piece of loose rock- which happened to be very big- and attempted to hit Blue Beetle in the head with it.
Crura, however, didn't have much like. The cannon blast sent her into the wall, landing right next to Rogue. She struggled to get up, and immediately tried to kick Rogue's legs with a sweep.

"It's what I'm here for, Tony. Get some rest." Obadiah hung up.
"Well, good to know you have confidence in the directive, Coulson," said Maria, before frowning. "But I don't like the way you said 'alliance' just now. That implies a distant relationship with the New York heroes." Maria planted her hands firmly on the desk. "Now, far be it from me to judge, because I can't speak for all the heroes in the city. But Tony Stark is a liability. He's a reckless showboater, who dresses in a WMD, and has a bad habit of making enemies. People like him need to sign a few agreements, put limiters on their 'toys', and be put where we can keep an eye on them. The point is, Coulson, I'm trusting you to help STRIKE gather momentum, so that more powerful superheroes will be encouraged to register with SHIELD."
And a Strange Figure Emerges.Crura was successful with her trip, as Rogue was not expecting it, but also ended up trying grabbing Crura, trying to put her in a headlock, and trying to pull Crura to the ground with her.
Wizard Needs Food BadlyTony was still sitting curled up in his office chair, staring blankly at the display in front of him, but the instant he was aware of anyone else in the room, he immediately was jumping forward, slamming a hand on the panel to turn it off, looking over his shoulder, face going from downright fearful to something more annoyed.
"...I'm going to make myself a new lab and never let you see it," he mumbled to Access, immediately turning away to walk over to the wall with his armors, opening up one of the nearest pods, to an armor that was all in sky blues and silvers, seeming more streamlined than the others. "If you're here to join the 'what the hell Tony' train, there's currently openings in cars three and four."
His sarcasm didn't have it's usual bite, though, sounding considerably more subdued than normal, as he was making a concentrated effort to focus on whatever fiddling he was doing with the armor.
Easing back into life one step at a time"Start thinking about other planets, then," Rocket said to Tony. "This guy I know is one of the most famous surgeons in the known universe, and he owes me a favor after I rescued him from a fleet of Skrulls planing to enslave him and possibly dissect him. Hell, he's the reason why his planet was absorbed into the Shi'ar Empire in the first place."
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!"Just by touching it," Rocket said. "He's a Kymellian, a race of equines that can swap superpowers like trading cards, and one of his powers is the continuous production of stem cells that automatically clone themselves to match the surrounding tissue. Something like restoring a human ribcage would be something he could do blindfolded!"
A beat.
".......which is why so many people want to exploit him or murder him outright," he added. "You'd be surprised how much heat you get from patching up the wrong people."
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Access eyed Rocket after his comment. The alien healer's planet had been absorbed by the... Chia-something Empire?
But then came the explanation of Tony's possible savior, so he put that thought aside for the moment.
"I think what Rocket is suggesting" the young hero said, "is that we bring you *to him*."

"Are you daft man?!?" Rocket said to Access as he so casually suggested doing something suicidally stupid. "You want to accidentally bring a flarkin' war on you?! Unscheduled visits by non-family have immediate 'kill on sight' orders attached to them and treated as declarations of war!" Then he turned back to Tony.
"He's under the protection of the entire Shi'ar Empire," he explained, "one of the three major Empires in the known universe, so the only people that will be following him is an armada that'll provide escort to make sure no one else is following him. Which is also the reason I have to call in this favor, since it would be nearly impossible to even contact this guy without gettin' stonewalled by bureaucracy and red tape otherwise. The Kymellians are very big on repaying life debts, and the Shi'ar are known for respecting other cultures.
"But even after I call in this favor, it will take a while for him to arrive," Rocket continued. "If I call'em now, it'll take three Earth months for him to clear up his schedule enough for ya, and another month for the Shi'ar to make preparations for the trip to Earth."

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Tony just blinked a bit more at Rocket, staring at him. "Okay...I'm...touched, honestly, but I really, really don't think inviting some intergalactic armada to Earth just for me sounds like a good idea." He rubbed at his temple a little, turning his gaze back to the armor. "It's...it's not that I don't...want this fixed, but...considering what just happened, and that I already know there's fatality set in about six months, um...by four months...I don't know." He winced, looking downright uncomfortable. "Didn't you two see what I just did?"
Easing back into life one step at a time"Hey!" Access barked right back at Rocket, "I don't know any details about this Chia-Pet Empire or whatever, mostly because *YOU* never mentioned them. I thought you had it all figured out already, but if it's THAT risky, we might better ask Fate's help instead."
With that, he turned to Tony. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. Remember Dr. Fate, aka as Nabu, from that deal with Klarion? Well, he's back again, as in, he's right here at the mansion, right now. Never mind how or why now! I know you don't like the idea, but he, too, might be able to save your life. And without attracting an alien army to Earth. So... your choice."
"Oh God."
Jaime said, his face changing into a grossed out position. He got rid of his cannons and tried to wipe the gunk off of him.
What's wrong?
"This is so gross get this stuff off of me."
Not only do I protect you from germs, you can't even feel the stuff through the armor.
Jaime was flung across the room from the sudden smack to the head by the Man-Bat, too distracted by arguing with Khaji-Dha to defend himself. He stuck to the wall for a second before falling to the floor.
"You coulda warned me."
Jaime complained as he picked himself up.
I thought you were paying attention
"I was distracted!"
He shouted as he stormed over to Belualis.
"This guy is really getting on my nerves, and I don't care that the stuff doesn't really effect me it's gross so just get this stuff off of me!"
Thrusters formed in his boots and the Blue Beetle began to fly at the Man-Bat, fist extended for a punch. Mid flight, Khaji-Dha began to fulfill his wish to get the stuff off him, and the Blue Beetle burst into flame.

Tv Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!Darwin was currently splattered and on fire. The stuff all over Blue Beetle crawled over his armor to the back, forming back together, growing mass impossibly, and turning back into a humanoid shape.
On fire.
"Look, Blue," Darwin said, pretty much just a black core in a wreathe of flames now, his arms wrapped around Jaime, "I know we had our differences, but this is a pretty excessive way to tell me you don't care for me."

"Oh no, don't worry!" Access quickly explained. "It isn't Storm this time, it's some new guy who totally volunteered to be Nabu's host. Now will you hurry up and decide already? Time isn't on our side here, you know." In addition to being worried over Stark's health, he was afraid Fate might get tired of waiting or find something else to do and disappear.

"Maria— sorry, ma'am." Coulson said, leaning back in his chair. "It's a start, isn't it? STRIKE can not only be our way to deal with certain situations with a little more..." He bit his lip slightly, trying to find the words. "... finesse, but it can also be our way into the superpowered community. I'm already acting as the connection between Stark's group and SHIELD, but they haven't even come out as an official group, so it's going to take a long time before we create a firm alliance between us and them."
"But we won't have to depend on Stark's group if we focus all our efforts on STRIKE. It'll not only be our way of building trust with other superpowered individuals... but we'll be there whenever something new and interesting shows up. No more 'the ones that got away'."
