Storm, having moved off into the crowd, blinked in surprise as she somehow wound up near Tony Stark. The press of fangirls was incredibly unnerving—she was quickly regretting getting anywhere near the crowd in the first place. Her efforts to extricate herself nearly slammed her straight into the older man, and the other person who seemed to be approaching him. On the upside, at least she was out of the crowd, mostly.
"S-sorry," she stammered, a blush almost visible on her face.

Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlI am an idiot.
Jaime nodded to Rogue with a gentle and serious expression on his face.
"I completely understand. I, I got carried away and I took things too fast. I'll do my best to tone it down, and if at any point you feel uncomfortable or you think we are going to fast, just tell me and I will back off. I'll understand. This pace that his relationship goes at is entirely up to you."
Tv Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!Tony grunted slightly when someone all but smacked into him, and he immediately reached down to grip the two women by the shoulders to steady them, grinning down at them. "I always do appreciate someone who just gets straight to the point," he said, grinning down at Storm as he slung an arm around her shoulders, and leaving a hand on Wesleigh's shoulder, nodding to her as well. "You all right, babes? It's a bit of a squall out here, isn't it? Maybe we should move somewhere less crowded."
Easing back into life one step at a time"Thanks for understanding," Rogue smiled at Jaime, taking his hand with her gloved hands. "I do like you and I do want this to work, but we oughta both be comfortable with it."
"Otherwise, it just ain't gonna work, even with the devotion to try to," Rogue nodded to Jaime. "Do ya want to return to the event?"
Wizard Needs Food BadlyWesleigh smiled pleasantly at Stark as she brushed the hand off.
"I can honestly say I'd rather stick hot skewers in my eyes. Nice to meet you again mister Stark. Wesleigh Dodds." She offered her hand.
She said, never changing her tone of voice from one of amiable friendliness. She looked at the young black girl.
She didn't look to be one of the people that were supposed to be throwing money at this damn thing so presumably she was a mutant. Wesleigh wondered if it was to rude to ask what she could do.

Gimme yer lunch money, dweeb.Jaime smiled back at Rogue as she held his hand.
"I'll do my best to match your pace."
Jaime thought for a second before answering her question.
"Sure, why not. We were having a good time in there beforehand, and i'm sure we will continue to have a good time once we get inside. Besides, I think I just saw Tony Stark, you should probably say hi."

Tv Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!Well, his efforts for getting a hold of Wayne were wasted, the man was no where to be seen. Ivan promptly slumped down on a chair, and noted down some aspects about the fundraiser in his pad. Another boring article, he sighed, not that he would lose his... Was that Tony Stark? Was he supposed to be here? Ivan smiled, a lost billionaire is balanced with another one. He turned on his recorder and follow him. Finally he reached him, while he was surrounded by women, and taping his shoulder he called him out "Mr. Stark? Do you have a couple of minutes? This is Ivan Barret, from the Independent Press, do you mind a few questions?" He pulled out his press pass when he asked him.
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song."How skewers, eh? Kinky." Tony grinned a bit when she introduced herself. "Ah, yes, Miss Dodds, you...you do...something. Nice to see you again. How's your mother?"
Someone tapped on his shoulder, and he turned away from Wesleigh without another word (or, frankly, waiting for a response to his question), arm still around Storm's shoulder, tilting his head at Ivan, actually giving the man a full once-over before responding. "Mr. Barret, yes, well, this isn't exactly my event to comment on, but when has that ever stopped me before? Fire away."

Easing back into life one step at a timeStorm winced slightly when Tony draped an arm around her shoulder, smirking a little bit at the other woman's response. As Tony's attention seemed to be occupied, she slipped out from under his arm, hoping he wouldn't take offense. No sooner had she managed to do so than the reporter came up and she took another step back. It was probably not a good idea to be seen as a groupie by a reporter, especially since she'd barely managed to get out of detention to come here in the first place. She fervently hoped the reporter wouldn't take much note of her.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.html"The something I do is usually referred to as "fuck all" I believe. She's fine, thanks and I think she demands your attention at her table. Something about you being more famous than she is. When you have a spare moment...?"
She'd had to stop herself from responding to the 'kinky' comment. She was seriously in danger of become a grouchy snapping hell-monster if she was awake much longer.
She watched the girl step away from Tony and smiled at her.
"He's like that with everyone Honey, nobody'll care if your caught on camera with him. I'm Wesleigh by the way."
Storm nodded slightly at Wesleigh's comment.
"It's nice to meet you," she said quietly, wondering briefly if she should give her name as Storm or Ororo. She glanced slightly nervously at Stark, stepping over next to Wesleigh. The crowd lingered in her mind slightly, and she wanted a bit more space.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.html"I don't think I should... He doesn't really want a connection and there's a crowd all 'rou—" Rogue began to explain why having her be shoved around by a crowd of people is not a good idea and that Tony didn't seem to want an obvious connection with her, but then spotted Storm next to Tony. "Oh hey, look!"
Rogue then tried to signal Storm to come over, since she did look like she needed some help.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyWesleigh noticed Rogue waving. She prodded Storm, probably a little harder than she'd meant to.
"Looks like someone you know's given you an escape route. Listen, I need to stay here until Mr. Jerkwad gives me an answer, but I'm going to spend the rest of the evening bored sick by my mother's friends and would love some company, so if you're interested in talking, I'll be over there."
She pointed in the vague direction of her mother's table.
Jaime nodded in understanding.
"You're probably right, I did not think that through at all."
Tv Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!"Ah, well, honestly, I think persecution is persecution, because it all comes down to genes in the end. Whether it's skin color or gender or sexual orientation or mutation, the whole thing is all just a case of hating someone else because their genes aren't the same as your's, which is stupid. No one's genes are identical, not even identical twins, seeing as your environment does have an effect on your genetics. So, really, if you're going to persecute someone for being a mutant, you have to hate people for having curly hair, or blue eyes, or being on the short side, or being a technological genius." He grinned just a bit. "Yes, I am describing myself. There are so many better reasons to hate me than just my genes."
If he were at all aware of the slight commotion his presence was causing, he was doing a very fine job of ignoring it.
Easing back into life one step at a time"At this point we are planning to offer donations to mutant charities, including Mr. Wayne's if he'll have it. Although I have to say I'm not...not entirely sure about the way you phrase that, 'pro-mutant'. What I am is pro-equality, I personally think there's a difference in the two. Mutants shouldn't be hated and feared, but I don't particularly feel they should be coddled and pampered either. Positive discrimination is still discrimination. If people need help, they need help regardless of who and what they are, and that's what I, and by extension, Stark Industries, is interested in above all else, helping people."
Easing back into life one step at a time"I stand corrected, and, sure your recent actions as head of Stark Industries is a testament to your new philosophy" Ivan cleared his throat, maybe is time to drive this somewhere else "What is your opinion on the new vigilantes and superheroes that had been appearing recently?"
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.Storm nodded, mouthing a "thank you" to the other girl as she slipped off. Despite herself, though, she hovered to hear what Stark had to say before joining Rogue.
"Thanks," she murmured to the other teen.
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlTony contemplated that question a moment, before chuckling a bit and shaking his head slightly. "I don't have any real comment on that just yet. Admittedly, though...since, well, everyone in the entire world knows what happened to me back in Afghanistan, especially the fact that part of why I was there for three whole months was government bureaucracy and red tape...I would have been perfectly happy to have been rescued by a vigilante if it meant I got to come home a lot sooner."
Easing back into life one step at a time"I'll get back to you on that one, I guess" Ivan added with a laugh "Ok, last... How do you respond to the rumors that you are secretly developing technology that would revolutionize the world, but you are keeping it to an extremely close circle?" Ivan asked, his old conspiracy theorist side surfacing a little
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.Tony chuckled a bit. "Just because I don't release things that are still in the beta state doesn't make me any kind of technology hoarder. I just want to be sure, more than ever before, that before I release something new to the public, that any potential threats it carries are completely minimized." He offered a bit of a salute to the man. "It's been a fascinating conversation, Mr. Barret, maybe you and I should have drinks some time. Now, if you'll excuse me..." Tony turned away from the reporter, apparently bored with the interview and looking for the next place to move on to.
Easing back into life one step at a time"Welcome," Rogue smiled at Storm keeping her voice down. "Ya looked like ya needed help."
"This is Jaime Reyes," Rogue glanced over at Jaime, smiling. "He's my date."
"I've been invited to a rocket launch courtesy of Stark when I contacted him," Rogue told Storm about what happened with her call, not knowing of the trouble she was in with the Institute. "He wants me to bring my friends, so ya want to come?"
"Stark also offered me a better place to stay, but I don't think he wants to have any obvious connection between us," Rogue continued to tell Storm about the call. "You're be glad to know I do plan to visit your Institute on Saturday, though."

Wizard Needs Food Badly

"...and did you know Wesleigh's finally got a job?"
Gimme yer lunch money, dweeb. This had been going on for far too long. Wesleigh was basically falling asleep with her food for a pillow and the only thing stopping her was the talking to she knew she'd get at the end of the night.
I'm thirty two years old. I moved home voluntarily so you wouldn't feel lonely. The least you could do is treat like a goddamn adult!
But that was unfair. She should be grateful that Marina was paying her any attention, especially given her parents' track record for attentiveness. Her mother and friends droned on some more. She'd put the man Marina had found down rather brutally not long after she sat down, raising eyebrows across the "High Society" tables.
"-And that was when... oh! Look! It's Tony Stark!"
Wesleigh sat up with a snort. "Huh?"
Marina looked at her daughter disapprovingly.
"Mister Stark's just arrived Wesleigh, you remember him?"
"Of course not moth- mom, he's only one of the richest men on the damn planet."
"Less of the attitude please darling, be a dear and call him over before somebody else snaps him up will you?"
"But-"
"No buts. Having him sit at our table can only be beneficial. Please, Wesleigh."
Wesleigh resentfully got up and marched towards the entrance.
Fucking magic word.
She wondered if Stark remembered her. They'd met at least twice before at some of these things, talked too. But he talked to a whole lot of people.
As once he was past the main entrance she quickly approached him.
"Good evening, Mister Stark."
