You don't have to worry about any contradictions in the plot or anything: Iron Fist hasn't been used yet.

Sweet! I Can't wait to do my first role-play Ever!

Name: Iron Fist

Real Name: Daniel Thomas Rand-K'ai

Gender: Male

Age: 23

Appearance in coustume and out of Costume

Alignment: Good

Personality: Danny's good qualities is that he is charismatic, friendly, charitable, cultured, and always calm and in control. Danny's bad qualities is that he is a little brash, opinionated and though he has average intelligence, he has a good amount of blonde moments. Danny also loves pop culture, as when he was training in Ku'n-Lun, he was told by his master that if you know a world's culture, you understand the way that world thinks and the way that world fights.

Powers and Abilities: Danny's powers is that he can manipulate his chi to do various things, including; using it on his fist to be able to do the Iron Fist punch, briefly hypnotizing people, fusing minds with other people, absorbing energy directed against him and using it, tapping into energy fields, Adapting to any environment and healing himself and others. Danny can pinpoint all openings and weak spots in his opponent as he fights them. Danny also has peak human strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes. Danny's Abilities are that he is a Martial Arts master, The Martial Arts he's mastered include K'un-Lun, Shaolinquan, Judo, Aikido, Karate, and Boxing. Danny can also street fight and brawl. He once even defeated Sabertooth without using his chi once! Danny is also a master of almost all martial arts weapons, an acrobat at Daredevil's level, has complete control over his nervous system, and can speak English, Chinese and Japanese fluently.

Weapons and Equipment: None.He is the weapon

Origin: From the Marvel Wiki: "Daniel Rand was the son of businessman Wendell Rand, who had once lived in the fabled city of K'un-Lun, which exists in another dimensional realm... Wendell sought to return to K'un-Lun, which ordinarily was only accessible from Earth through an interdimensional nexus that opened once every ten years. When Daniel was nine, his father traveled to Tibet along with Daniel's Mother and his business partner Harold Meachum in search of the nexus to K'un-Lun. Toppling off a treacherous mountain passage, Daniel dragged his mother and father over the ice shelf with him. While he and his mother landed on a ledge below, his father dangled over the sheer drop of the mountainside and called to his partner for help. Hoping to take over Rand's share of the business, Meachum instead caused him to lose his grip and plunge to his death. Though Meachum offered to help Heather Rand and her son, they spurned him. Attempting to make it back to camp on their own, Heather and her son spied a long suspension bridge as a pack of wolves attacked. Heather tried to hold them off long enough for her son to get to safety and was killed in the effort.

Soon thereafter, denizens of K'un-Lun found the boy and took him to their city. There Daniel was brought before Yu-Ti, who had secretly plotted the murder of both Wendell and Heather. Yu-Ti apprenticed Daniel to the martial arts master Lei Kung the Thunderer.

Rand's training under Lei Kung was rigorous. At age sixteen Rand earned the Crown of Fu-Hsi, king of the vipers, vanquished four foes in the ritualistic Challenge of the Many, and defeated Shu-Hu, a mechanical being whose name means "Lightning." Rand diligently conditioned his hands by thrusting them into tubs of hot sand, then gravel, and finally rock.

At age nineteen Rand was given the opportunity to gain the power of the Iron Fist. He was sent to battle the enormous fire-breathing serpent called Shou-Lao the Undying which lived in a cave outside the city and which ferociously guarded a brazier containing its heart, which had mystically been removed from its body. In their battle Rand grabbed the serpent's body, which bore a scar which imprinted itself upon Rand's chest. Killing the serpent, Rand plunged his hands into the now unguarded brazier containing Shou-Lao's molten heart when his hands shone with a quasi-mystical force and he earned the title Iron Fist." One of the main differences between this Danny and the 616 one is that The Book of Iron Fist was returned to Ku'n-Lun by Orson Randall(the Previous Iron Fist) and his companions a few years before Randall disappeared, so Danny had to spend two more years in Ku'n-Lun before leaving to be at the level the 616 Danny was during the Immortal Iron Fist books. After mastering the power of Iron Fist Danny went home to earth to kill Meachum, whom Danny confronted and spared. Minutes later, however, a mysterious ninja murdered Meachum. Blamed for the murder, Iron Fist undertook the mission of finding the ninja and clearing his own name. Eventually Iron Fist succeeded in both tasks. Danny then took over Mechum Enterprises, renamed it Rand Enterprises, and made it into the largest non-profit charity in the world. Danny decided to use his power as the Immortal Iron Fist to help the common man as a street level hero for hire that you can hire for free . After two years of being an independent superhero, Danny wants to now start a team of heroes for hire that can do multiple cases at once or face threats that are way higher than street level!

Zillafan: I understand this is your first game, so I'll try not to be in any way harsh. Just gonna give a couple of pointers for your signup post.

Firstly, the big picture you put in there's kind of cluttering things up for the format. Best to leave it out, and let the links speak for themselves.

Secondly, I'd prefer to stick to the rules and wait until you've put the sections about Powers and Origins in. That way, we can check back on it to make sure we're concrete on what he can do and if his reasons would fit with his past. (Besides, some people might not even have heard of Iron Fist!tongue)

Thirdly, and this is just a minor deal, the Personality segment is looking a little, eh, spartan right now. If you can think of anything more to say about his personality, any more details to add, anything else you could flesh it out with, then feel free to put it it. If you want to. Maybe it'll look better when there's more stuff in the rest of the post.

And I'll help (as usual tongue) by throwing in suggestions of DC's own mythos into the character. like, How might Deadman's Nanda Parbat relate to the Immortal Weapons' mystic cities? Have Iron Fist and Richard Dragon ever met? Who's better at Kung Fu?

I've only really read the opening page of the startup thread, if you want me to read more I shall...

Hmm, would Ghost Rider be alright? Or is he considered too powerful?

Ghost Rider could be good.

Though there is one thing: a long time back, one player played him before dropping out of the game. The only major thing he did was help a group of mutant heroes journey into the sewers and rescue Iron Man from Blizzard.

If you're okay with incorporating that in your GR's history, then you can certainly play him. Oh, and also, if you want to see the original signup for Ghost Rider, maybe to incorporate bits of it, then here it is.

Thanks man, I do have a fair bit of knowledge on both universes (Marvel more than DC, admittedly), but I will definitely need filling in on a few facts :p

Been reading up a bit on Angel, just to remind myself of him, but I just wanted to ask which version of him I should be playing. Original Angel, Archangel, or the "blank slate" Angel (most powerful one)?

Yeah, just ask Sijo, he's our resident comics expert. He also hates everything made after the 80's.

Actually I just hate stuff that's been done in DC (and some in Marvel) in recent years. Still love both universes though.

As for Angel, it's up to you but the basic idea here is that most of the characters are just starting out (only Batman and The Flash have had lengthy careers.) So you're not bond by any specific plotline other than the character's origin.

You might however need to be brought up to speed on characters than have already appeared in the game ex. Ghost Rider. Be sure to always ask first.

@Mint: Angel's currently being played by GM Liz as an NPC. Anyone played by him is open to new players. Only requirement is to read up on what was done by the character beforehand to catch up to speed.

Liz might not mind handing over an NPC as a playable character, if his or her role is minor (and I don't see Angel being used very much.) Of course it's up to him.

don't know about much of recent DC but I picked up Phantom Stranger #5 recently and it was decent

I read Phantom Stranger is now supposed to be Judas, is that true? (I wouldn't be surprised with all the crap New DC is putting out. Course it might just be a rumor for all I know.)

[up]Contextually it is implied but they haven't said for sure, and he a calls himself Phillip Stark in any case, same with Question, whose crime and past hasn't been revealed. Pandora is the only one of the Trinity of Sin that has an explicit origin and sin. I actually don't mind the concept all that much, I mean its not like the stranger is a bad character because of it... I think, at least.

Oh and he fights The Specter in the issue, it was pretty awesome

All of that sounds awful to me. But, maybe I should wait to know more details. It will probably be reviewed in Atop The Fourth Wall eventually (that's one of the sites I use to keep up to date with comics. It's harsh but fair.)
