I love this site.

Even though the mods will probably delete 4chan, because of the bullshit "4CHAN IS THE EVUL AND MUST DIE!" bullcrap, I decide to make this thread.

So, what are the best boards. I really like /co/, /mu/, /tv/, /an/ and /o/.

/co/ and /mu/ for me. I sometimes go on /ck/ if I'm really bored.

Someone wake me from this nightmare, I've become my darkest fear...

Mostly /co/. If I'm feeling vulgar /v/.

I would really like it if this thread became sort of a news source on recent 4chan trends so we can discuss them and I can read about what's going on there without actually having to wade through all of it myself.

/b/-tard reporting in. 4 chan is a good thing, it keeps all the crazy in one place. The internet would be quite darker if they were just running around everywhere.

It's not even that dark if you know where to go. Most of the boards are fairly tame except for the porn boards (Which are explicitly marked as such) and the /b/ and /v/ board, but those are the boards everyone cites as being terrible so you wouldn't go there unless you were feeling spiteful. Other then that it's actually a great forum and a great way to get news.

/co/ seems cool, but /a/ is a raging circlejerk of weaboo elitism.

I've tried to visit 4Chan before, but I can't really get into it and it isn't the most welcoming place.

Well, nothing has really inspired me to post there anyway, and getting news from there sounds like Ann iffy business.

You have to grow some skin to post on most boards but once you do it's not a terrible site once you do. Honestly everyone should spend some time there, realize it's not so bad to be called bad words.

As for news most folks link to something official when they bring ti up. A few times on /v/ I've seen "Employees" of game companies take Q&A on stuff but obviously you shouldn't take any of that as official.

I was lead to believe 4Chan was much worse than it is based on its reputation (either that much more full of cats playing the piano).

I'm not worried about the insults, it just looks like a really difficult place to have an intelligent conversation, quite aside from the format, once you've been there for a while you are going to be able to guess most of the threads being started and most of the responses.

The interface is part of the problem though. It's a little ugly to be honest. Don't suppose that will change any time soon?

I went on v/ once...it didn't seem that bad, just occasionally some people would try to be extra edgy and just spew lots of hate towards games that didn't really deserve it.

I'm surprised to see the reputation it has here, was there something I missed?

Just here? I mean, the reputation for the whole place is everywhere. And it's not great.

Perhaps it is a little disproportionate, but that's what they get for being so memetic.

The main reason I avoid 4chan is how it's centered on straight white males - sexism and homophobia aren't just tolerated, they're encouraged; "fag" is practically a Verbal Tic, and if you call anyone on it you're labeled a "moralfag".

Maybe I do have too thin a skin. Whatever, I'm not trying to force anyone to change. But I also don't have to put up with it, so I just avoid the place.

[up] It's bizarre, I stumbled onto Guro Chan a while back and that place was so much nicer to be gay or a woman. It's probably not like that anymore, though.

[up] When you're a fan of something depraved, you have to make up for it with a lot of understanding and friendliness if you want to bond with likeminded people.

... *speaking from experience*

[up][up] I get the impression that there's two types of Anons: Ones that act offensive on 4chan because they think it's fun... and ones who act offensive on 4chan because they actually believe in bringing down social taboos about language and sexuality and such and teaching people to be less thin-skinned and entitled by showing them how ridiculous it all is.

Considering they call a fan of anything and everything a ____fag, I don't know how much of it is really intentional dickery. I've never seen them call /u/ or /y/ 'gayfags' though.

[up][up]That isn't necessarily the case; fetish guys can be arrogant, self-centered jackoffs.

A matter of peer pressure, I think. It can lead to people having a bad conscience about their predilections and consequently to a humble attitude. Or if they already found enough like-minded people to hang out with, they get to talk a lot about how everyone who disagrees with them is a closed-minded bigot and they're all misunderstood underdogs.

There was, after all, a Dutch political pedophile party that went under the motto "sapere aude".

That will forever remain one of the most hilariously depressing things in the world.

I'm totally addicted to /co/. I usually go on /tv/ when there's a thread about a show airing at the moment. I'd go on /v/ more if the turnover rate for threads wasn't so high.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.

Another /co/mrade here, though I don't hang out as much as I used to. ...tvtropes ate my life instead.

I also like to scroll through /m/ on the offchance I can expand my out-of-context Legend of Galactic Heroes screencap collection. I'm way too lazy to actually screencap it myself.

Seems like most people here go on /co/. I wonder why.
