I played against a Nekusar deck last night and scooped on the third turn. Did not get to do anything.
I hope I detracted from his fun by doing that at least.
Because he came off as an unapologetic bully who liked detracting from my fun in particular.

October 21, 2019 Banned and Restricted Announcement, effective Oct. 25th, 2019.
- Standard:
- Field of the Dead is banned.
- Pauper:
- Arcum's Astrolabe is banned.
Also, Announcing the Pioneer Format.
The initial ban list for this new format consists only of the fetch land cycle;
I keep my cards sorted by format, so it looks like I've got a lot of collection rearranging to do. I also now have to decide which of my Modern decks to keep Modern and which to convert to Pioneeer.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Goodbye Field of the Dead, I have a fitting salute for you as you leave.
(waves middle finger at Field of the Dead)
Yes, Field of the Dead could get really ridiculous really fast. While the article cites its fetchability by Golos, Tireless Pilgrim as a motive behind the banning, the main Field shenanigans enabler I've seen in unranked Arena play has been Risen Reef. Bit that, too, got pretty bull-tastic. Multiple Risen Reefs putting multiple lands into play per turn with multiple Fields in play is an easy recipe for a zombie apocalypse.
While I had one Field of the Dead in my Grixis Amass deck because its zombie tokens get the same bonuses its creature cards grant to the army token, that deck also lacks any kind of ramp, so I rarely got it to actually go off in that deck. So it's no big loss to that one.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.I'm gonna play my copies of Field in my Golos EDH and Varina EDH Decks I want to make.
LOL yeah my Elementals deck don't have non-Elemental creature cards, so Field of the Dead is the only source of non-Elementals on my side of the battlefield...which could trigger multiple times with Risen Reef.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I just bought a bunch of cards to power up my Mimeoplasm Commander deck. If I have to I'll just say the 2 dollar copy of the Prophet of Kruphix can just be a Seedborn Muse proxy if people really don't wanna play against that.
I'm just excited to have a super powerful card for once.
Remember when I kinda freaked the fuck out about Food way back when Eldraine was in Spoiler Season?

I'm still perplexed that his turn into elk ability is a +1 ability and not a -1 ability. Though the funny thing is that my Yorvo Brawl deck steamrolls every Oko brawl deck I've faced because most of my heavy hitters are based around +1/1 counters. Hit Yorvo with his ability and you've just given me a 7/7.
I mean, I'd love to get an Oko for my Mimeoplasm EDH deck - because he plays nicely into all its themes of doing bad things to my opponents' creatures, and stealing stuff, but now he's like 50 dollars, and I've already gotta get my finances together so my Expropriate isn't a silly proxy any more.
So Oko is gone.
Lets see who Noxious and others like him whine about next.
teferi
And then there was silenceNah it's going to be Cauldron Familiar and Witch's Oven.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Yeah, it's either gonna be Throwing Your Cat In The Oven or Teferi again.
Which do you consider more important: learning how play the game (as in, use your cards) well or learning how to build your deck well?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. The former, but I find that in practice, the latter follows the former.
So I finally had my first EDH win after a long time spent losing.
I resolved Expropriate using two blue and 7 Eldrazi Spawn which I got from using Gather Specimens when one of my opponents hit me with an equipped up Rapacious One.
Then both of my opponents despite typical wisdom both voted to give me extra turns. So resolving Expropriate gave me 3 extra turns.
On my first extra turn I resolved Mass Manipulation, targeting...everything. Which promptly induced scoops because I had two more extra turns after that.

They've released an official apology for straightwashing Chandra:
Chandra will love and be involved with many characters as her story unfolds—regardless of gender. She will explore her relationships with fire and passion as she adventures across the multiverse. She is the character you've come to know and see yourself, your friends, and your family in over the past decade.
A value we hold dear is that our characters belong as much to our fans as they do to those of us who help create and shepherd them. Moving forward, we will take more care to ensure they stay true to their ideals, their identity, and the history we have carefully curated—none more so than one as beloved as Chandra Nalaar.

Well, that's a good step up from the typical corporate nonpology. Now they just gotta stick the followup.
I just bought Solemnity, Decree of Silence and Phyrexian Unlife.
I think this is the evilest trio of cards to go together in EDH.
hey fam whatcha brewin in pioneer
or in other formats, even, i'm just mentioning pioneer cuz that's basically what i've been playing exclusively for a while
i made a gideon tribal/friends deck which works pretty well, all the gideons throw pressure on like its hot, i got a gideon's company and a pridemate in there alongside ajani of the pride to synergize with collective brutality/interplanar beacon/gideon blackblade
online vers. has liliana the last hope and thoughtseize but they're pretty pricey in paper so i'm uncertain about popping them in too
And then there was silenceYou know how White is said to be a color without card draw?
I think this counts as card draw. Sure it makes you skip draws, but it gives you seven cards drawn in return for your patience with it.
I'm building a few Commander decks right now, including Niv Mizzet Reborn, Krenko Tin Street Kingpin, Roon, The Mimeoplasm, and my existing Hogaak deck.
Any fun cards I should check out for Niv, Mimeoplasm and Krenko?
