Welp, here we go. Hopefully the RP topic will be up in a few days, barring anything catastrophic.

Rejoice, your discussion thread has come true!

Right then! Simon and Drac still need Masters, although I'm leaning towards Ichigo's character for Simon.

...and that's terrible.

Any Servant willing to have Joseph Vlkov as a Master? I would prefer someone relatively nice and non-evil tongue

Saito could be his familiar but I don't think its an ideal match.

Saito's ideal master would be female and a generally good sort. Tsundere optional but recommended.

Basically someone not unlike his wife/master, Louise :P. Female, to invoke his chivalry and give Saito more desire to defend her, his master. This would play into his Noble Phantasm and in turn make him stronger in battle.

If anything I think a good aligned Assassin or Archer would fit with him.

If only there were less Servants. This RP needs more Berserker Yuuka and Lancer Bridget.

One of these characters may not be an entirely serious match with the chosen class.

Right now I've got an idea for a master but I'm afraid this master comes entirely from what I've read recently, Negima. :P.

A master who would use the wish to reveal magic to the entire world and make it a mundane fact.

Regardless of anything else, its entirely too close to Chao from Negima.

What are we waiting for?

We should get the current masters signed up paired off with their servants and start.

Okay, now that I have power/internet after the June 2012 Mid-Atlantic and Midwest Derecho, I have a question.

Are we going on the assumption that all the media we're drawing characters are non-existent in this Nasuverse, or does perhaps Miss von Einzbern read Shonen Jump, and thus summoned Kenshin? Do Touhou/Rurouni Kenshin/Blaz Blue/etc. exist in this universe or not.

The only thing I'd like to point out is that if the shows don't exist, then there is no realistic way for anyone to discern any other servants true identity; even if they had a name they couldn't look them up anywhere.

The premise is all of these servants are imaginary characters via the grail, I assumed this meant their media origins are included in our Nasuverse.

Especially as my Servant, Saito Hiraga, has a personal skill that allows him to identify manga and anime characters from mainstream, with a small chance for lesser known anime and manga. I included that because it fits his background.

I would suppose its possible that the Grail could pull imaginary characters from parallel worlds.. but wouldn't that be kinda silly? :P

But take this a couple steps further. Knowing real magic and studying it, how many Magus would devote serious time to watching anime or playing video games where most of our characters come from? I would guess that the younger ones might have passing familiarity but probably won't know much offhand unless it was one of their hobbies.

And its not like any of the Magus knew beforehand that these servants would be imaginary. Some of the masters might not even figure out right away that their servant is imaginary.

Do the servants realize they are imaginary to start with?

On a sidenote... Anno's Master would the the currently available master that would be ideal for Saito

*cough*Second Magic*cough*Zelretch*cough*

Not necesarrily as silly as you think. The Second True Magic in the Nasuverse (see the analysis page) is specifically the operation of parallel worlds. So one theory could be that rather than being fictional in the context of the 'verse, they were all real people pulled in from alternate dimensions.

I know that, its why I mentioned it. But it would be kinda silly, because then there really would be no way to identify other servants except with the known servants have, unless you do something similar to my servant.

Except for servant powers that can figure out the identities of other servants there would be no real way to ID anyone else.

For all intents and purposes, this RP shall be running under the Literary Agent Hypothesis: all Servants are very real where they come from, but fictional in the world they are summoned into. Their "creators" were simply unconsciously tapping into visions of alternate dimensions. Kinda like a very degraded form of Kaleidoscope, if that makes sense.

What knowledge is imparted upon them then as a part of the summons? How much do the servants know about the situation?

Another good question,

Were all of these heroic spirits killed off somehow in their origin?

I can work with that for my character who literally died in Season 2 and was subsequently brought back to life.

No, they were not killed just to bring them here. That would be kinda grimderpy, which is something I don't particularly approve of. And they won't really "die" in the war either; once they're defeated, they will be returned to their world of origin no worse for wear.

And they get the general Servant knowledge of what the Grail does and what they're fighting for.

It occurs to me from watching Fate Stay Night that Shirou took a full on strike from Mad Enchanced Berserker and before that Lancer didn't instantly slay but but Shirou managed to stumble his way around his attacks.

etc..

In other words if E rank is supposed to translate to 10 times the ability of an average human how would average human Shirou manage to survive these things?

I'm starting to consider that 10 times is quite an exaggeration.
