Bob Schooley confirms on this panel
(around 11:38) from back in April 2020 that he's been developing new projects while "(we) finish Big Hero 6".

That doesn't sound too promising for the show's future. Though, to be honest, was BH 6 ever that popular to justify it's own show?
I'd assume it does decent merch sales. I still see kids and even some adults with Baymax stuff.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Looks like we're getting a second BH 6 animated series

It's called "Baymax", so it may not even necessarily be about the BH 6. Also, they really better not put up the future seasons of current Disney Channel Series (Amphibia, The Owl House, and Big City Greens) on Disney Plus. Because it does seem like Disney is really moving everything to that platform.
The only Disney cartoons produced for the service are either based on established theatrical franchises or established television franchises. I think shows like Big City Greens and Amphibia are too new to have content produced for Disney+ instead of television. I'm sure there will still be content for Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
It feels like this upcoming series might ignore the current show and be its own continuation. Which, to be fair, Kingdom Hearts III did as well.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I mean, I can believe this being it's very own thing unrelated to previous media of the franchise, since that kind of thing is pretty common, but it's worth noting that Kingdom Hearts III isn't actually Disney production - hence why it just uses whatever it wants. The two aren't really comparable.

Dave Lee Down Under's video covering the WDAS shows has a few more revealing details about Baymax!, including some animatic footage seen during the Investor event.
In each episode, Baymax in his original nurse protocol will meet different characters that will serve as his new patient. (Example shown as Baymax assisting an elderly lady learning to swim.) Baymax 's newest fast travel feature will allow him to quickly meet new people.

Baymax's premise sounds a bit weird for a show to have, but I can dig it. It sounds like an artsy type work. Presumably, there going to be animating this in the style of the movie. Probably get some cameos from the other characters, but nothing major. Unfortunately, I don't plan on getting D+ anytime soon, so I won't be watching this.
Oh yeah, it's a cute premise, and I know a lot of people disappointed that Baymax's medical functions were downplayed in the series would be happy with this series.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I'm not sure that would happen. This upcoming Baymax show is produced by Disney's theatrical feature side, and not Disney Television Animation. The thing when it comes to any material that comes out after the first movie in any franchise is that they'll focus more on crafting their own stories rather than follow what the tv shows established. To quote from toonzone:
"Continuity lockout is one reason movie-based TV shows usually don't have events affect the movies or vice versa, but it could also be because movie screenwriters probably don't want to be beholden to something on a TV show. Are you going to tell some big-name Hollywood person they can't tell the story they want to tell because it contradicts or interferes with something a cartoon, a comic book, or tie-in novel did or said?"
I think the only exception to this is Star Wars, and that's due to every project, both on television and theaters, being produced by Lucas Films.

Sort of how the How to Train Your Dragon movies ignored the TV series? (Although the TV series did not ignore the second movie, they tried to tie in the last few episodes of the series to it as much as they could.)
The point of the thread I linked to is that TV shows are given more freedom to build off of the movies, but not vice versa. The 2012 How To Train Your Dragon cartoon eventually built off of events from the second movie, but the third movie only built off of what the first two movies established, and still nothing from the TV show.

And even Star Wars had this problem somewhat, due to the directors of the most important films visibly not wanting to be beholden to the plot surrounding the story if it got in their way.
However, in a more major way, this is the reason why the MCU has had so much of a problem connecting its television series with its films - because the door only goes one way. It's different now, but only because - just like Lucasfilm - Marvel Studios is currently making everything.
A Google search
reveals that the series will supposedly return on February 1st. Here's the alleged episode synopsis:
"The Mi SFIT" - In order to recruit child prodigy, Rishi Patel, Professor Granville enlists Hiro to give him a tour of SFIT.
"Return to Sycorax" - Krei goes missing in the old Sycorax building!
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Commercial spot for new episodes.
Also, last episode titles:
"A French Apprentice/Noodle Burger Ploy"
"Mascot Upshot/Karaoke Night"

Usually I'd agree, but considering how both of them act flustered around each other, plus how few episodes are left, I think that was meant to be the "conclusion" to their relationship.
BTW, "Mi SFIT" and "Return to Sycorax" are the only new episodes in all of February. So, they're going to be drawing out the show's ending longer than it needs to. Yay!

I wonder if they might air the remaining episodes of the season like a little movie, kind of like how the season 1 finale was basically a movie.
