His baby son was shown to have glowing eyes. I'd imagine something was planned with him.

I haven't heard anything yet.

Still a dick move on Adult Swim's part. We just needed one more season!

[up] I was just thinking the same thing; who cancels something immediately before the last season?

No news or anything, right? I had this weird feeling there were talks with Netflix or something, but that's probably just my imagination.

I've been listening to the Doomstar Requiem on repeat, basically. It's so good. If it ended, which I hope it hasn't, considering other shows that have been uncancelled, at least it ended on such a good note. Still, the actual metalocalypse hasn't happened. We don't know if it'd be Mr. Selatcia having a metal challenge against the band or not.

[up] I remember reading an interview where Brendon Small asked to buy the rights back from Williams Street outright and they flat out said, no, it's never happening, we're squatting on this.

The show is dead.

Don't get your hopes up.

  1. That page is a year old.
  2. "The production of this finale hinges on the success of the Metalocalypse Now and will be on Hulu Plus if they decide to co-fund the project with Adult Swim."

Metalocalypse Now was not successful. Adult Swim chose not to renew.

[up] Yeah, I saw that soon after I posted it. CN's apparently just content to sit on the rights and milk reruns for all they're worth. That ams dildos.

A very intriguing post was made recently on the Adult Swim reddit about the cancellation. Apparently it was because "the story hijacked the comedy."

Yes, it was literally canceled because it had too much plot. MOTHERDOUCHEBAGS!

Well, I do remember how Moral Orel's last season got cut short because it was getting overtaken by depressing drama, so I can see how that's a concern.

[up] I don't think that acts as a justification for them to can the show though, if that was —hypothetically speaking— the reason they decided not to do the final season. Assuming Metalocalypse's final season not having much humor would mean it would be a bleak depressing watch, solely on the basis that said scenario happened with Morel Orel, sounds like a really big leap of logic to me. Especially since both shows had different production teams and Morel Orel was made years ago.

Never mind that it's been said/rumored (unsure which it is) that Morel Orel's bleaker third season was specifically requested by the network as it is...

It also sounds like there may have been a behind-the-scenes spat of some sort between Small and Blacha, which I've actually heard before. Note Blacha wasn't in Doomstar at all, which is why Murderface was Demoted to Extra in it and has no spoken likes, only sung ones.

Ugh, that sucks. Brendon should tell Adult Swim to go fuck themselves.

[up][up]I was concerned about that as well, however Blacha was actually pulling back as early as the previous season, for what it's worth.

Sssssoooooo there's rumors going around that Brendon's band's new album, Galaktikon II, may provide some sort of closure, though some stuff might be changed due to trademark issues.

Now that the album is out yeah it's pretty much a conclusion as much as he can do. Basically the order is should be listened to is this >Some Days are For Dying - Salacia Begins the Metalocalypse

>Nightmare - Murderface's nightmare

>The Ocean Galaktik - The band searching for answers in the deep ocean.

>The Agenda - Murderface attacks Mordhaus

>My Name Is Murder - The band tries to stop murderface as murderface continues to turn people against the band.

>Exitus - The band finally stops Murderface and starts a ritual to fix him

>Icarus Six Sixty Six - Triton Arrives on Earth to aid Dethklok in destroying Salacia and stop the Metalocalypse

>Become The Storm - Dethklok and Triton meet and unite getting ready to fight Salacia

>To Kill A God : Salacia begins the final battle against Dethklok

>Could This Be The End : Nearing the end of the battle it begins to look dire until Dethklok finally overcomes and nearly dies killing Salacia (ending lyrics confirm)

>Rebuilding A Planet - Earth is rebuilt from the Metalocalypse

Thank you for that.

It would be great to see it... but still, it's nice to have closure.

Holy crap, how did I miss this for so long! Sweet, beautiful closure! Does the album explain what becomes of the other villains, like Crozier and Orlaag, or just Salacia?

I was kind of hoping that Murderface's betrayal wasn't going to be so obvious. Instead of Murderface becoming more of a douchebag, that poison of Salacia's would instead make Murderface a better person. Someone who was more considerate, more active, more ambitious. And because the band's dynamic depends on Murderface being a dildo all the time, the loss of their inspiration would tear the band apart, as Murderface leaves his jerkass bandmates behind to form Planet Piss.

Does the album actually use the characters' names? I thought there were rights issues there?
