Oh, come on, nobody listens to tenchno
. It's all dubstep and party rocking and house music nowadays.
Still, the Metal has proved that it is one of the best genres at harnessing The Power of Rock. As Dumbledore once said:
... *likes rap metal, especially in nu-metal, used to be fan of Linkin Park before their rapper became quiet and all one could hear was the whiner with daddy issues, probably has just committed a faux-pas of some sort*
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.GET OUT
no, but that's just sort of a joke.
I don't really like rap-rock except for Cage's brief foray into it, but whatever.
the cat got skinned again!Holy shit Dr Who
There's one thing I need to understand. How is it that every song this guy touches becomes awesome in a very clear, tangible sense to me. I mean, I know it's objective as fuck, and usually all metal songs aren't automatically awesome for me. But this guy has never failed even once to make me feel completely mindblown. What is it that he does? What is it that the metal does to music, to the soul?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I'm not trying to prove anything, dude, not everything is an argument, you know? I'm just celebrating the blending of metal with stuff, and this youtube guy in particular has made a specialty of doing metal covers of stuff that would normally have no business being in metal. If you've got examples of your own, please don't hesitate to provide them.
As for the paragraphs at the start, those were just the lyrics to the tongue-in-cheek song "The Metal" by Tenacious D:
Relax, dude! It's music! It's meant to be enjoyed, not fought over!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I was just curious what this was about.
Oh yes, Metal does blend. I do like some good Folk Metal or Symphonic Metal.
Oh yes, Metal Will Never Die

I am intrigued by this, as I remain under the impression that rap is a primarily vocal + beat style of music. Whereas to me, metal's greatest strength is its near-limitless capacity for influence from other genres.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars. But I would argue that's merely placing it "over the top", as it were. Whereas metal can adapt the actual structures of other forms of music (like jazz or classical, say), if that makes sense.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars. Is there such a thing as rap on japanese drums?
Cuz I'm pretty certain there's at least one rock song
that uses them (I'm not sure it can be called metal, what do you experts say?)
Alternately, african drums would be nice.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I've been watching Sam Dunn's Metal Evoltuion, and that tune is in my head.

You can't kill the metal! The metal will live on! Punk-Rock tried to kill the metal. But they failed, as they were smite to the ground. New-wave tried to kill the metal. But they failed, as they were striken down to the ground. Grunge tried to kill the metal. Ha, hahahahaha...
They failed, as they were thrown to the ground! No-one can destroy the metal. The metal will strike you down with a vicious blow. New-wave tried to destroy the metal, but the metal had its way. Grunge then tried to dethrone the metal, but metal... was in the way. Punk-rock tried to destroy the metal, but metal was much too strong. Techno... they tried to defile the metal, but Techno was proven wrong.
The metal. IT BLENDS.
