I agree. It started well enough and then suddenly Time Skip and it looked like it's trying to cram in multiple chapters in one.
Shinohara is at his best when he just doesn't care. Remember when he did a whole chapter of the In-Universe manga his characters read?
Super Phone started getting weird this week, but I still defend "I read everything Wikipedia has to say about musical theory" is a powerful panel.
Witch Watch decided to give its translator a free week to rest. This could have been a challenging one, but the bread illustrations at the corners of the panels didn't give Adrienne Beck any room to try things out. I'd love to see a high-effort retranslation of this chapter by someone capable of redrawing the breads appropriately.
And The Elusive Samurai gave us a new miniboss powered by drawing new headcanons for his OC waifu.
Too bad her romance was toast before it even began.

That samurai interviewing his opponents and deciding if he’s gonna add their character traits to his OC waifu is freaking hilarious.
Ginka and Gluna: Pacing still feels rushed. The creature design is on point, though. The art in general is pretty strong.
I wasn't bready for all the interpretation they'd have to do. Nico sure does have a lot of spells to check someone's emotions or mind huh.
Sakamoto Days had a decent twist with the Database, not sure if saying they'll erase some memories is literal or a euphemism.

I don’t think I’ve ever lost hope in a series as fast as ginka and gluna. Interesting setup and protagonists even if I think timeskipping through gluna’s training was a bit off. Chapters 2 and 3 make me feel like it’s written by those people who always accuse shonen jump of hating slow starts
Aliens Area feels like it’s hitting its stride with the A3 arc but I wonder if it’s too little too late, it also gives me “axe is coming” vibes. Still not really a fan of its art style though
Tokyo Demon Bride Story is just kinda meh, main character’s ultra beady eyes look weird and it seems like it’s just heading towards generic battle harem territory
Ginka and Gluna and Aliens Area have the opposite problem, in that the former is too fast and the latter is too slow, and neither justifies their pacing issues with other things of interest. At least Ginka and Gluna is nice to look at, I guess.
Also agreed on Tokyo Demon Bride. The art is nice but the story has yet to find its footing. And the lead couple don’t have a drop of chemistry.
I’m honestly already looking forward to new series once these ones get axed.
Witch Watch blessed us with another uber-cute Nemu chapter. Niko’s magic also doesn’t backfire, for once! Even if it looks a little strange.
Sakamoto Days: I’m excited for the world of assassins to start fearing Sakamoto’s wife.
Elusive Samurai: Nothing inspires loyalty in a man like having your waifu be approved. Tokiyuki’s trolling of Shibukawa is pretty funny too.
So, there was a rumor that Ruri Dragon's tankobon will be released under Jump Comics+ imprint instead of Jump Comics which also fueled rumors that it will move to Jump+. Well, just bought the first volume and it's still released under Jump Comics not +.
It going to Jump+ would be good tbh. If the author has health problems, they should have a more liberal schedule after they recover, and without the series taking up a "slot" in the main magazine. I think it can thrive on Jump+.
Oh man. Next chapter of Chainsaw Man Part 2 will release on the same day as the anime debuts, October 11th. Prepare for the entire anime/manga sphere online to be dominated by spoilers and hot takes.
-sigh- Lost passwords...Jump Plus is the app for Shueisha's digital releases. Stuff that doesn't go into paper magazines like Weekly Shounen Jump. For that reason, there's no limited number of authors and their schedules are completely varied. Going by the most famous examples, Oshi no Ko updates every week, while Spy x Family updates every two weeks.

Second chapter of Tokyo Demon Bride Story slows down in the first part to explain who the main characters are. Ceiling Demon is watching you sleep.
