(It's weird, given how English speakers would enunciate, to remember "try" gets transliterated as "torai", not "turai".)
"Tora" also means tiger, so you could half-translate to sound like "eye-of (the) tiger".

Just wanted to say thanks for the correction on the Jumps a page ago!
... And that's called jazz! You're welcome. In other news,
My Hero Academia has 27 million in circulation with the release of Vol 27 (what a coincidence lol)
Black Clover is still at 10 million in circulation.
Next batch of Jump volumes are coming out July 3. If Agravity boys doesn't show some growth, I really don't see it lasting much longer. Here◊ are the sales number for the newbies if you are wondering
Edited by AbrahamOmosun on Jul 1st 2020 at 7:45:06 AM
Cowboys vs SamuraiWell Mitama’s dead, it’s sales are slowly trickling down instead of up.
Yozakura is doing good & wow Undead & Mashle are doing great.
Huh I recall they announced MHA had 26 mill last year.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I wonder what caused the sharp drop for Yozakura's second volume only… there's the covid, yes, but that didn't seem to affect the other series…

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. The Yozaukra volume 2 sales just seem to have been delayed a bit. If you check the monthly sales they're actually higher than volume 1.
I’ve looked at mangaplus views to see how the ranks look compared to other metrics (you can also see different numbers for Spanish), but I don’t understand how the numbers work.
Is it views or unique user, and is it from the last week, month, or all time?
Oh, you're right.
I assume it's the general views. The numbers are reset once in a while, but I'm not sure how often.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. Why are several series listed multiple times?
One Piece is both 1st place & 13th place.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Maybe it's language? Mangaplus has spanish and english iirc.

Secret SignatureAh, thanks.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."At first they just were accumulated views, but now I think it resets every four weeks.
Since crap's going to change constantly, and Manga Plus now simulreleases every currently-running Weekly Shonen Jump series, I'll just post how many views each has now, rounded to the nearest thousand:
- One Piece: 522,000
- My Hero Academia: 407,000
- Black Clover: 233,000
- Dr. STONE: 205,000
- Chainsaw Man: 196,000
- Haikyu!!: 166,000
- MASHLE: 146,000
- We Never Learn: 131,000
- Ayakashi Triangle: 108,000
- Time Paradox Ghostwriter: 89,000
- Jujutsu Kaisen: 72,000
- Magu-chan: 60,000
- Bone Collection: 59,000
- UNDEAD UNLUCK: 58,000
- ACT-AGE: 57,000
- Mission: Yozakura Family: 47,000
- Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin: 45,000
- Moriking: 39,000
- Agravity Boys: 23,000
- Mitama Security: 11,000
Compared to the table of contents, Bone Collection, Act-age, and especially Moriking are doing considerably worse. We Never Learn/Bokuben, Black Clover, and Chainsaw Man are doing better.
Obviously, pure viewer ratings rating are skewed by anime adaptations, which the Jump editors appear to compensate for. That makes Chainsaw Man's viewership that much more notable.
By both metrics, Agravity Boys is struggling, while Mitama is underwater.
Special shoutout to Spy x Family for getting 177,000 views. That's over three times the next highest Jump+ series, and higher than 80% of the series running in Weekly Shonen Jump.
It seems to be getting pretty good word of mouth. It and Time Paradox Ghostwriter were the two recent series I'd heard of outside of Jump-focused forum threads. Is it as (comparatively) popular in Japan as in English?
Edited by thatother1dude on Jul 1st 2020 at 5:47:20 AM
Does that count website vs. app views, and also different languages?
I've heard Spy x Family is selling like crazy in Japan.
Even the 1st volumes already been localized.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."When you account for how six series are not available in Spanish* the only real differences are that Ayakashi Triangle and Yozakura are ranked much lower—the former is mostly because it the Spanish translation only first went up last Friday (and is currently a chapter behind).
Edited by thatother1dude on Jul 1st 2020 at 5:52:37 AM
Ah, then Moriking being much lower than in the magazine makes tons of sense: pet beetles and bug fighting aren't really a thing outside of Japan, so its appeal wouldn't really make it overseas.
I checked the app, and the numbers are identical to the website, so it's almost certainly combined views.
I mean, 24 years ago, I'm sure some people were saying the same thing about Pokemon...

@Druplesnubb Spy x Family is at 3 million copies in circulation at Vol 3/4 (I forgot which volume in reached that have to check). Doesn't really matter, it is still a very high number , the only other jump title that had this much at an early stage was Assassination classroom I believe
EDIT: Did some searching on jump titles that hit it big early, I found out Dr Slump (Akira Toriyama's first big work) had an initial print of 2+ million a volume 6. Wow. Funny how Dragon ball popularity completely over shadows it lol. Also Kimetsu Vol 21 had a first print of 3 million, 2nd highest in WSJ only behind One piece (4 million for Vol 67 if I'm correct)

Cowboys vs SamuraiNo kidding. It's already outselling some of the biggest series in paper Jump, with only 4 volumes out.
Edited by Lyendith on Jul 1st 2020 at 1:07:46 PM
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Crap, I just realized, if I like a small number of series, there's going to be like a forty chapter gap between the collected volumes I can keep and recent chapters I can read for free. Everything else is only legally available on Viz for a continuous subscription fee, even though their reader is way worse than Manga Plus.
Ah, yohoho.
That reminds me, do Viz makes separate translations for collected volumes than simulrelease? I know they have to redo the typesetting at least since collected volumes have redrawn things and some extras.
Edited by thatother1dude on Jul 1st 2020 at 7:01:02 AM
Far faster than most localizations though.
This is the fastest a mangas come out in the West.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
…Ayatollah needs to be Triangle's official nick.
For Magu-chan and TPG, I guess it would be "Hakamagu" and "Taipago" to keep it to 4 mores.
